@Mauris As much as I'd like to argue with you it really seems this joke got to you. Guns are banned and football is not. There have been measures to reduce the risk of concussions that haven't worked but nevertheless football is a dangerous sport. People will continue to play it despite your objections. There are advocacy groups you can join to argue your point about banning football but that's your spare time. Football doesn't cause deaths because a "mentally unstable" (the common excuse for soulless killers) person decided to take out a bunch of innocent kids. Look up the stats of how many children died to mass shootings. You can't compare it to football. But go ahead and dispute my claim. You won't win anything

@Mauris Not sure where you get your stats from… Currently, violent crime rate (per 100 000 habitants) is at 1.2 for both France and the UK while it is at 4.96 for the USA. Please don't spread misinformation.
@impaledbygod6664 жыл бұрын
@Mauris And yet you give no specific number in regards to crime rate in these countries. Furthermore, citing a media outlet as source is quite a weak argument. National and international agencies do a much better job at publishing reliable data on crimes. Finally, cherry picking what type of crimes you include in ''violent crimes'' in order to manipulate data is just dishonest.
@impaledbygod6664 жыл бұрын
@Mauris It is true different agencies report violent crimes using different methodologies. But regardless of how what methodology you want to use, the USA fares worst in most categories of what constitutes violent crime rates including intentional homicides , human trafficking, child abuse, rape rate and more. So your statement that ''place like France and UK have HIGHER violent crime rates'' is still untrue. Concerning crime victim surveys from Gallup, their methodologies are mainly based on telephone interviews. They mostly represent perceptions on crime rather than actual crime reported. Results from these surveys are important but are not as accurate or reliable as the actual reported crimes because they have much smaller samples.

As someone who grew up with Guns in the house, and was taught gun safety (i.e. A gun is a tool. And you respect it. You never keep them loaded. You keep them locked up. You keep the Ammunition locked up separately.), I have never understood the lunatics that feel they should be allowed to open carry a weapon while walking down the street like they are on a break from playing "Call of Duty: Real Life Vigilante". I mean seriously...you do not need to carry around a weapon openly. You do not need to carry around a weapon like a firefight can break out at any time around you. The simple act of doing so INCREASES the chance of this happening. A gun is a tool, not a statement about who you are as a person, nor a male enhancement device.
@anactualotter62165 жыл бұрын
Ryan Edwards I mean, I agree but I kind of think of it on parallel terms to the knife laws we have in my state: you can concealed carry small pocket knives, but have to open carry everything else (though it's not a hell of a lot, because this is California and there are far greater restrictions on what kind of knife you're allowed to own than what kind of gun). I have somewhat mixed feelings about people in specific professional fields (e.g. law enforcement) who want to concealed carry being allowed to, but otherwise I'd rather be able to see who's got a gun. I agree that people taking their AK-47s into Walmart is stupid, and I'd like everyone to be held to the same level of responsibility as people who concealed carry, but on the whole I think open carry should be the norm for gun owners. If someone carries a gun for self defense, they should do so openly so everyone else is aware of the threat, just like a knife. Granted, most of the gun owners I've met outside of hunters and law enforcement are dumb fucks who should never be allowed near guns and only use them as a fashion statement, but that's a problem having to do with the extremely low standard of knowledge and expectations surrounding gun safety throughout the states and not really connected to open carry laws per se.
@dullan1235 жыл бұрын
It's called the bill of rights not the bill of needs. There are plenty of things you don't need to do that you nevertheless still have the right to do. _"A gun is a tool, not a statement about who you are as a person, nor a male enhancement device."_ You're right which is why none of those things are reasons for why people choose to open-carry. When you conceal-carry people can't see your gun and so it seem to them like you're nor carrying at all. This normalizes a gunless society and ultimately leads to disarmament. When you open-carry people can see that you're armed(and not being violent). This reminds people that America is an armed nation and instead normalizes gun-ownership. That's why people open-carry. No need for Freudian kitchen psychology, it's a political statement. Nothing more, nothing less.
@ryanedwards74875 жыл бұрын
@@dullan123 Dude...you don't need to Open Carry to prove this is a land that normalizes gun ownership. We get it...we have a second amendment. And maybe some people do "open carry" for that reason. But you don't need to do something just because you can. I can run down the street screaming obscenities if I want, but I have the restraint to keep myself from doing that. You may have the right to own a weapon and carry it about, but you should have the restraint to realize that, unless you are going on a hunting trip or out to sport shoot, you don't need to sling it on your shoulder. @Mauris 1st off, unregistered gun ownership is dumb. All guns should be heavily tracked to insure they are not misused or go into the wrong hands but mind you, that would make confiscation from dangerous people easier, can't have that. Secondly, why would cartels leave to the US? They can get drugs there and extract profits from the US already. Also, there is plenty of gang violence in the US already. Don't understand why tho, so many of them have guns and that should stop them from attacking the other gangs with guns, right? Lastly, there are more than a few of asylum seekers who died when they were sent back. Guns are a big responsibility and America needs to start treating them as such. We can't just hand anybody one and expect life to be peachy.
@jacobmonast4 жыл бұрын
@Mauris Gun control works when properly enacted. The right for civilians to own a gun (2nd amendment) exists only in the united states, and they aren't a model society in any respect. The only reason it's in the constitution is because the founding fathers were worried about the British crushing their rebellion and the government needed standing militias ready at a minutes' notice (minutemen). This was back when all they had were muskets, limited to one shot per reload, meaning that even if misused by someone, that person could easily be subdued. The founding fathers couldn't have foreseen how deadly guns would become, being able to murder dozens of people in minutes. People like you need to stop making excuses for why owning guns are reasonable protection, because they aren't in the modern era. You just like guns and that's understandable, some guns are cool. Reading about the history of firearms is interesting. We get it. But that doesn't mean you should be allowed to walk around with one at any time. It's destabilizing and unnecessary. The only reason you think you need a gun is because everyone else in America could also be armed. That shit doesn't exist in other first world countries. You people need more weed and fewer guns.

@MogajiMohammed4 жыл бұрын
@Mauris Australia and New Zealand have strict gun laws and has stated in the video Australia haven't had a mass shooting in a while. On the South American issue Brazil have seen mass shootings double since 2007 because of weak gun laws and it's only getting weaker. Tons of gangs and cartels as getting their guns from the US by exploiting the weak gun laws that make it hard for guns to be tracked and for people to buy guns by proxy. So any country in South and Central America that have high homicide rates and mass shootings is because of the military type guns that gangs get from the US. If not for the US it would be much harder for those gangs to have access to guns.

Interesting question. America has only been America for 243 years - since the Declaration, anyway. Compare that to the Romans, the Chinese, the Persians, Egyptians, Mayans, Vikings. The British. People need to be able to prove they can drive in order to obtain a license. Sensible, right? Guns are no different. They are just as deadly as cars. We should have licenses and registration numbers so we know where those guns are. People need to be able to prove they can use and store guns responsibly in order to obtain licences. Sensible? NO! On 2 different military bases the most secure places on the planet gunmen went wild and nobody stopped them until it was too late, Police “good guys with guns” murder innocent people constantly. It's mobile and fires fast enough that getting close to stop it without getting hit is really hard.
