In most of his shows he speaks about “what we can do” and this is one had a very obvious call to action (besides donating money) which is to eat less meat(beef) but except for a few cow jokes here and there, the whole topic was overshadowed by corruption. The industry exists and continues to exploit because there is an ever-growing demand for beef. You can LITERALLY start with-eat less animals. It’s that simple. Or at least boycott this particular company’s meet, but people are so scared of telling people that their food habits may be destroying the world.

I have hope the information age will result in the popularity and embrace of the truth, but they sure are making it difficult.
@CarolNaranjocxnv5 жыл бұрын
did you check the website at least? FYI money always helps! it's about empowering local communities like the indigenous people and other ONG to defend the territory and raise awareness of its value, and to provide economical alternatives so the locals don't allow this kind of practices. That's the real trick. Not eating meat helps as well, but as soon as there's a new demand for something the forest will always been seen as a disposable resource if we don't learn any better. Look it up, soya and quinoa production have caused and continue causing deforestation in southamerica (among other problems), so it's not what you consume per se, it's about where it comes from and how it is produced, but that keeps changing constantly, so you have to keep checking. In short, donate if you can, it helps! and from the consumer point of view go for "fair trade", bio and "rainforest alliance" stamps or support local producers with sustainable practices, and check your sources whenever you can. Too much work? you might as well try and live in the tribes and see your family and friends shot for trying to speak up and defend the mother nature, because that's how it is over there.

Great show! I'm so glad this is back!! Just a thing though: Lula's trial was super shady. Fastest trial in brazilian history, mainly so he couldn't run for president (cause he was projected to win). What they have on him is circumstancial at best, and even if proved to be true, isn't enough to prove corruption, only that he had an undeclared apartment. He went true some pretty bad stuff during the trial period, being denied basic rights. His situation is closer to political arrest (illegal in Brazil) than fair trial.

JBS became a giant company in Lula/Dilma years with huge money from Brazilian gov. Study more please. Lula is in jail, as Temer is too. Both are absolutely corrupt, and helped JBS.
@liliq.5 жыл бұрын
I didn't say anything about JBS nor did I deny Lula's involvement with them, to which we have no proof of guilt or innocence. I just pointed out how the conditions of his trail were suspiscious and proof is only circumstancial. Also, I'm a political scientist, I do my fair share of 'studying' about the topic. Regardless of partisan issues, due process should be respected for any individual, and everyone knows it wasn't the case for him, both before and after his arrest.

@@liliq. he had a fair trial, in the BIGGEST CORRUPTION CASE IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. Yes, they only found one beach three units beach front apartment, and only one country house. Wait, I think it's enough to be in jail, no?

If you think we chopped down all our trees, you must never have visited the east coast... There has been massive reforestation here on a scale not seen before in human history. It's an amazing testament to nature's ability to heal itself. As long as the land isn't developed with concrete, the trees will be able to come back if people stop clearing and farming it
