From a live performance in 1977. The Oaks won a Grammy for their version of this song that same year. A long-time fan favorite.
Check out those "groovy" 70's video effects (sorry, those were from the original transfer, can't get rid of those!!)...

I have worked with Richard for 17 years. He uses the same microphone as the other three. Many if not most bass singers use (have to) condenser mics because they hype the low end, you can blow in them and cheat a low tone. RS doesn't need to cheat. He has the goods. He's the real deal. Always has been.

He has been one of my heroes since I was 5, so for three decades now. His work with Elvis to his work now is jaw dropping! I agree that he has been, is, and always will be the real McCoy.

I got to live in East Tennessee for a few wonderful years. One day the congregation of my church was led by our own Southern Gospel quartet and we all could not hold still!! When I got home after church I turned on the TV and here was Roy Clark & Oak Ridge Boys voices reaching to Heaven itself blessing even the people who couldn't make it to the service. What a glorious day it was for Jesus in East TN 🥰❤

I once was lost in sin, but Jesus took me in And let a little light from Heaven fills my soul He bathed my heart in love, and He wrote my name above And just a little talk with Jesus makes me whole (Now let ) Us have a little talk with Jesus (Let us) Tell Him all about our troubles (He will) Hear our fainted cry (He will) Answer by and by (When you) Feel a little prayer wheel turning (And you) Will know a little fire is burnin' (You will) Find a little talk with Jesus makes it right I may have doubts and fears, my eye be filled with tears But Jesus is a friend Who watches day and night I go to him in prayer, He knows my every care And just a little talk with my Jesus make it right (Now let us) Have a little talk with Jesus (Let us) Tell Him all about our troubles (He will) Hear our fainted cry (He will) Answer by and by (When you) Feel a little prayer wheel turning (And you) Will know a little fire is burnin' (You will) Find a little talk with Jesus makes it right And just a little talk with Jesus makes it right

Back about 75-76 the oaks were on tour in Fl. New to country old to gospel but changed. I spoke with Richard for a college new paper. He was very polite and kind to someone who was a nobody. He did not need to be he could have refused. He and the Oaks had just raced in from TX to do the show in Fl and this was after the show. He sat and talked untill the road manager ran him off. A good man with a great heart.

Very well done and for the benefit and information of you and others who view this, this song actually contains three verses. In case you've forgotten or are unsure of the lyrics for the second verse, if I may, I'd like to share them with you. They are as follows: Sometimes my path seems drear without a ray of cheer, and then a cloud of doubt may hide the light of day; The mists of sin may rise and hide the starry skies, but just a little talk with Jesus clears the way.

I love it! God bless em'! Jesus loves us and offers salvation if we just ask! What better to be happy about than that! And if your salvation makes you happy why not act happy. Show it in your own way. Some people just smile. Some laugh. Some get so full of the spirit that they can just cry (happy tears / I'm usually one of those). And some just gotta dance! Nothin wrong with the happiness coming out physically. Where is it written; "Stand there in a 3 peace suit and look all dignified". That's alright if that's you and how you feel, but that's not everybody. Everyone enjoys their salvation in different forms of expression. It's like people at a football game. All there are enjoying it or they probably wouldn't be there. But there are some who mostly sit there and enjoy it in a fairly reserved manner. Then there are other who shout and cheer and jump up out of their seat and shake a pom pom. Who's right? ....Both. I'm a gospel singer and I express what I'm feeling how I feel it. I see so many different people expressing their joy in so many ways. Even in the same congregation. This reminds me of a quote I once heard. "God made us fishers of men. Not judgers of men. You catch em'. Let God clean em' as HE sees fit". God made us all look, feel and express things differently and thank God he did! It would be very boring down here if we all were identical little robots. God bless everyone who claims him as their Father!
