Forgiveness is a command for every follower of Jesus. No matter who has hurt us or how, we are commanded to forgive. But what does this actually look like? Forgiveness is releasing someone from the debt of their wrongdoing. It is a beautiful demonstration of the gospel message in which we extend what Jesus has freely given us. Forgiveness is not excusing habitual behaviors or letting someone off the hook.
