Next test should be a 300 mile timed round trip with a double horse float on back with a ton of ballast in the float :-) Proper use for a Defender or Range Rover :-)

is that something every single Defender or Range Rover driver does or is it limited to a select few? Most Defenders/Range Rover seem to inhabit cities and towns as vanity purchases

@@rtfazeberdee3519 As a RR owner, I may be biased, but I live in the country side, where land rovers are very present. They come in handy as it is common for smaller roads to flood and become impassible in winter. You also end up pulling lots of friends out of ditches or floods when they got a little bit over zealous. You would be surprised how often you use the capabilities of a LR when you own one in the country side.

But mummy that's not fair.. my electric slotcar can't go too far away from a power point.. Oh the fun one? The diesel could carry two Jerry cans, off top up fuel.. the electric car would need a Bloody Long Extension Lead... It's BS.. 😎

@@FranzTraininand Not disputing that, just seems there are more in the urban areas than rural hence they've turned more luxury and comfortable. When JLR make the an EV product, i'm sure it'll be capable of all the same stuff, isn't most of the off-road capability now controlled by computer now anyway?

@@rtfazeberdee3519 I guess it depends on where you live, as an Aussie we do have what's called a Toorak Tractor which never see's a dirt road and is simply a Luxury Estate car/Station wagon but that's more for safety and the incredibly good visibility especially now when every bugger has a large off or soft road vehicle. Defenders and County variants of the Landy tend to not fall into the Toorak Tractor class as they are still fairly agricultural even blinged out. The Rangies however have embraced the whole bling bling culture but still have a great towing capacity and are capable enough as a towing and paddock vehicle to retain the duality of purpose. Unlike the Softroaders on offer which are not true off road vehicles like my Daughters V8 XC90 or the Bimmer X5 etc which dont really like to tow nor do well off road. The Venerable Land Rover though retains its original purpose but with a few more luxuries available for comfort and sensible items like rubber floor mats and sensible cargo area access. Electric or diesel for short haul stuff they are a good thing but when it comes to distance or refuelling? Internal combustion still wins hands down.

Here is a Real Stupid Question.. If in the Australian outback, whilst in the Electric and the Diesel.. If you get cut off from a town, by a Bushfire or Flood.. so no access to a town.. the Diesel owner could call for a Fuel drop off.. what does the electric wanker do?
