Episodes where Jim and Dwight actually cooperate are some of the funnest in the entire show, they have great chemistry on screen.

@@niki7997Same! Some you can tell they’ve seen it before by how many times they stop the show to comment on it. It’s really nice when you see someone watch it all the way through and then discuss it. I LOVE watching people react to “Game of Thrones”. It’s one of my favorite things to troll on KZbin 😂 You KNOW these people have watched it when they stop right in the middle of a MAJOR discovery or an intense battle scene. The people who haven’t seen it, I love watching them squirm to “the red wedding” 😂😂

Sales scenarios are the only times where Michael isn't completely self-centered and oblivious to other people. It's the only time where he consistently centers others. When I look at the way Dwight and Jim tag teamed their sale, I get the sense that it could come from them being under Michael's influence as a salesman. The same with Phyllis getting makeovers for Karen and herself styled similar to the guys wife. Andy, on the other hand... 🙄

One of my favorite behind-the-scenes stories from this episode: They were filming in a real Staples, so the store manager put up signs all over the place advertising their prices, products, sales, etc. And the show deliberately filmed around all of them so they wouldn't be in the episode.
@jerodast Жыл бұрын
That's a pretty funny like, secretly frosty relationship. "Wait...we thought, when you asked to film in our store, we were cool and we would do each other a favor..." "Nah. We don't really like you in real life either. We like Chili's though!"
@niki7997 Жыл бұрын
If Jim & Dwight could put their petty s**t aside more often can you imagine how crazy good a sales team they'd make!? They're polar opposites of each other too, so they totally complete each others strengths & weaknesses. Jim can read people. He has the confidence & likability that Dwight lacks. And Dwight just has the determination & motivation unlike anything I've ever seen. He probably has a super high IQ. I think at 1st most people think Jim's being a bully but by the middle of season 2 or so, understand he's not. Almost always, Dwight is asking for it. And when he's not messed with for a while he starts turning into a bit of a monster. Also, so happy you see how great Pam is!!! I love absolutely everything about her. She is so underappreciated it's ridiculous. 1/2 of her job is dealing w/Michael's shenanigans & saving his ass. She's easily the sweetest & most kind person by far
@TheNoiseySpectator Жыл бұрын
You think Pam is underappreciated? Not by us fans, she isn't . You know, if this weren't a comedy, which is powered by just a bit of cynicism about the situation and characters, If this this were a show where we wanted things to turn out the best way possible, I would want _Pam_ to be the next manager of the Office. Mostly for the reasons you have stated; For a long time, she stood under the gusher of the broken sever pipe fountain that was Michael Scott's management, witnessing the things he did wrong, and right, and .... .... I will be quiet now to avoid Spoiler Territory. 🤐

One of the most interesting thing about this episode is that actual gives insight on Scranton branch employees are actually really good at their jobs despite how they act around office dealing with Michael.
@TheNoiseySpectator Жыл бұрын
That is good to see, for once. Especially Michael. The camera crew does a lot to show us the entertaining, incompetent side of Michael, and not a lot of his positive qualities. AND the episode also gets into the interpersonal dynamics of the employees, and some of how those interactions influence interoffice politics. This was a busy episode. 😀

I'm surprised Jimmy didn't include Yvette Nicole Brown in this cut. Back when _Community_ was brand new there was a joke about how nobody knew most cast members except from one random other thing, so it starred "Dwight's coworker from Staples in that one episode". (Also "the bro rape guy" aka Donald Glover.)

They made a 1 hour version combining both episodes with extra scenes of 4 minutes length that was not aired during the two episodes original air time. As far I know they didn't cut anything for being offensive. They did remove the cold open joke to a deleted scene on the dvd. The only jokes I am aware of they removed was the Halloween cold opening that wasn't terrible but felt different than normal jokes. The other being a blackface scene that won't spoil anymore for those haven't seen it yet.
