Never thought id hear about this again. I was a sophomore in HS in 2012 living in a rural school district in South Carolina when one day my my school went into a lockdown on a Friday because (quoted from a buddy of mine) "some kid on runescape said he was gonna blow up a school" and we joked about it throughout the day. Later that night we all got on TeamSpeak together and discovered the true nature of what happened through articles on the web and realized it was just over sensationalized bullshit and that the poor guy got a damn near death sentence for joking around in public chat. Much respect to Josh for coming out and talking about this insane situation, and hopefully drawing attention to the ridiculous consequences a young teen faces these days for doing less than what we see on television everyday by making dark humor about the tragedies the media loves to sensationalize. With that being said in a weird way im glad I saw this, this took me back to simpler times where me and my buddies would hop on a voice server everyday after school and bullshit around. If we reported half the shit we overheard on GMOD servers in those days the FBI and Police would have exhausted every resource they could muster just to apprehend 14yr old edge lords being edgy online just because they wanted attention and NOT preventing any type of crime in doing so.

Piss Ass Ok, I would be pissed if he spent 6 years in jail for JUST joking about it online, because that’s a violation of free speech. But what this kid did and what he had on his PC is way beyond just a joke. I’m wondering if he was mentally okay, honestly. That’s just not normal.
@saintt90444 жыл бұрын
Cygnus' Edge idk it seems like a lot she said he said in those documents. He seemed like a typical edgy online kid, with the added detriment of substance abuse. the search stuff is alarming, but seeing as he had no prior offenses he should have gotten a much lighter sentence with mandatory anger management/counseling. He had and has issues, definitely. But not 6 years of federal prison issues

#1 ratbag he did nothing illegal tho. He definitely deserved to serve SOME time but 6 years? Seems excessive. Edit, sorry, he did do illegal things, but nothing had come from those alarming files he had. You can’t arrest and sentence people for crimes they haven’t committed, or at least it’s very hard to prove and go through with
@saintt90444 жыл бұрын
#1 ratbag no, that’s a pretty harsh punishment for threats. People get less for certain violent crimes, where they actually went through with attacking someone. The guy was fucked mentally, no doubt, but we gotta put it in perspective of US law and what other sentencing practices look like for far more serious crimes. Idk, the guys no saint and he did his time so I guess you think he got what he deserves and hopefully he’ll move past this and keep his proverbial nose clean

I think alot of people admire or appreciate Edward Snowden I'm one of em for the fact that he was willing to expose the misuse of surveillance technology on a scale that was insane everyone always suspected/knew they invaded our privacy but the extent and proof he provided proved how big it really was now he's been forced to find asylum in russia which is ridiculous he should be thanked for what he did not condemned.

She never showed me the video. I think the officer who worked at the school at the time told her to say that. I was suspended for 3 weeks. I went to the board of education and she lied to their faces telling them I was gonna shoot two dudes in the head. Which she 100% made up.
