Charlie nailed it really. The media dislikes jordies because he often reports things that are against the interests of the people who own the media companies. So he’ll point out all the ways the stories aren’t true, and those same people in the media will just shrug and say “who are you gonna believe, us, or the guy we’ve been constantly running negative press about for five years?”

It's funny cause when friendly talks about the indoctrination and the media and Charlie and then are literally taking it the opposite way. Like older generation media use and Florida being dumb? Lmao mean while the young are saying men can be women and mutilating kids genitals is positive.

@@matsmith2507 Very true. I do not understand why people keep watching the news or follow media in general. It's such a mix of garbage that it defeats the purpose of being informative. Maybe it is because I am educated in these matters and am an autistic IT guy but it still does not compute in my head.

Normally, I don't tune into the Podcasts but since our little Aussie institution is guest starring in this week's episode, I had to tune in. Also, we Aussies do treat criminals here as folk heroes. Our nation was built on the backs of convicts so it makes sense. I tell you something else, my old primary school is right next door to a former active prison. I'm old enough to remember news crews showing up sometimes during school hours whenever there was a breakout or prison riot or something. The school yard was bordered on one side of the prison by this massive bluestone wall that was standing there since the 1850s. Too many sports balls were lost over that wall. This was the same prison once that had incarcerated Ned Kelly. The same prison that Mark "Chopper" Read once stayed in and had his ears cut off by a fellow inmate. Hell, one of my former writing teachers was incarcerated there in the 60s. Now, that prison is closed and much of it is repurposed as apartment housing... and I'm possibly looking for an apartment there. How times have changed.

This is why I love you Charlie. You have an amazing ability at seeing what’s right or wrong with the world, and using your platform to shine a light on it. It takes a lot for me to genuinely like a KZbinr as they often seem quite disingenuous, and you only ever see the highlights that they want you to see, so I’m always sceptical of their true character. However, I’ve always felt that you were genuine and honest, and nothing has ever changed that. I’m also an Aussie, so I doubly appreciate when you’re focusing on someone like Jordan and introducing your (likely) mostly American audience to him and the issues he’s facing from our corrupt media. Keep being yourself brother. You’re an absolute fucken legend! Cheers mate.

Honestly, it's pretty bloody heartbreaking. Can't do anything without gambling ads in your face. I know a bloke who tried to quit because it became an addiction. Still hasn't been able to fully quit because constantly being bombarded by pro-gambling propaganda sends him straight back into the spiral.
@DKS225
@DKS225 Ай бұрын
What makes it even more sick is that if/when a gambler has a medical issue say a heart attack and needs an ambulance the other players just keep on playing as if it never happened. I mean even now they have these tv ads for companies like Sportsbet which doesn't help anyone trying to overcome their addiction by the way plastering their ads all the time. And even those public service announcements should be at the front of those ads not after. That's my two cents worth.

As a European, the whole gangster rap culture definitely got started popularised in America. Obviously gangsters are everywhere, but this scene entered the mainstream in America and spread from there. I don't know why that is even an argument.
@tiredfrog308

Agreed. It felt as though that one bloke was deliberately misinterpreting what the others were saying. They were obviously talking about cultural influence. To pretend that glorification within a scene doesn't exist is deadshit behaviour; so is ignoring American centricism in media. That entire argument, along with others (i.e., labelling people who feel grossed out by the age gap in DiCaprio's relationship jealous women), was so uncomfortable to listen to. I just relistened to the first pod with Jordies and thank fucking god they did another one. No wonder I forgot they had him on before. They barely talked to him lmao. Much more improved. Alot more back and forth and well, you know. Conversation.

Growing up in Melbourne, I still remember Crown Casino’s flame ‘decor’. Casually walking along the river after enjoying dinner and drinks, then feeling like your face is burning off as they set them off. Appreciate the work you do Jordies! I’m on the GC now, maybe look into Mayor Tom Tate hahaha!

The environmental stuff breaks my heart. I’m in my early 20s and I know that when I’m in my 50s I’m going to be explaining to young people the cool natural phenomena we used to experience and take for granted

12:57 I grew up with Spanian, and when he says “I’d just stab you” it’s genuinely not a threat. He went to jail for about 5 years for robbery charges I think, and a guy in our neighbourhood fucked his girl while he was inside and was bridging up about it. When Span got out he bashed him and stabbed him in the throat and almost killed him. I think he was originally charged with attempted murder, and ended up being found guilty of maliciously inflict grievous bodily harm and did like 8 years or so. Can’t remember the exact details, but I saw it happen. He also tried to slash another guy up with a box cutter/razor and ended up slicing his own arm lol. He grabbed his shirt with his left arm, and slashed with his right, but the other lad pulled away at the right time and the blade slashed his own arm open. It was a massive gash. Blood all over the grass at the front of my house. He’s off his head.

A different kind of bias on KZbin has a similar underlying ideology and analysis to Jordan. He's a former science teacher though and no where near as entertaining but I'd recommend him for UK politics. If in doubt vote against the Tories the best way you can either labour or lib dems.
