Watching you play through the Overlord missions, hearing that digital scream, knowing that David was screaming "Quiet, make it stop!" Through the entire mission... This DLC is the definition of atmospheric, thematic horror. Just sheer dread, only matched in a few games I have seen, and only in a few missions in bioware games.

I mean, in this game and the next one, maxing out one of the morality bars is very much recommended for certain moments. The fact we get to smack Archer for what he did to David is a nice bonus though!

Your question about headgear: Some armor sets are "full" sets; they can only be worn as a whole. Your Dragon Age armor is one such set, and its helmet can also not be normally removed. If you had built a set of custom pieces, those helmets can be removed normally via the one option. Mods were probably made for the full sets, to allow the removal of only their helmet as well.

also as a detail you make that decision in your wardrobe. there is an option to not show helm (but only on a places with atmosphere and story, like Citadel, Omega, and missions) is it to see your character face and expressions when the character is talking to someone, but it does not apply in places where you would suffocate without helmet. As such this option you don't loose the benefit stats of a helm as armor piece, but you can still se your beautiful face 🙂

Can't believe I didn't see this in the comments yet, but there is an option in the main menu to remove helmets during conversations or have them always off. The benefits of the helmet you have equipped still apply, but it doesn't work for the full armor sets (i.e. Dragon Age or Collector armor). You need mods to take those off. Love the videos. Keep up the good work GOAT

If I remember correctly, the Normandy crash site was Day 1 DLC, so I don't suppose many people had to wait months before playing it. I seem to remember it was free DLC too (could be wrong about that), in which case I guess almost everyone would have downloaded it immediately. However, even if you had to pay for it, I think a small DLC like this would have been pretty inexpensive, so I suspect most people would have downloaded it quite early on. And yes, I do remember that I found it very haunting, and being amazed that it wasn't included as part of the main game. So atmospheric!

genuinely SUPER well written. might be the most tightly written individual story so far in these games. I do take issue slightly with how the brother perceived the other because he was autistic, but I dont know if thats just something i dislike about the brother or if i just dont like Bioware's direction with it.

@@KingdomAce Biowares direction was mostly for the player experience, whether you go paragon or renegade you get a different approach sometimes. The series knows how to get you in the feels most definitely.

@@KingdomAce it’s a weird one. Gavin’s abuse of David is a really effective way of making him stand out as a POS. More of a mundane evil than someone like Saren which makes it feel more relatable & realistic But BioWare’s use of the autistic savant trope with David is pretty antiquated & lazy. Dates the game a fair bit

"Goat"! Still my favorite ME Legendary Edition playthrough so far! Glad you did the Overlord DLC now. The way they handled David's Autism in the writing may be quite problematic nowadays, but it was still a fun minicampaign and quite the tragic story.(Super glad you went back and did the Paragon interrupt. Not only it's recommended to max one of the morality bars by the end of this game and the next, but it's so satisfying to hit Archer for what he did to his brother.) The next two DLCs can be done whenever, but most of us do leave Arrival for last, after finishing ME 2, since it sets up 3. Lair of the Shadow Broker has benefits to doing before the end, but i did after for extra dialogue and info. As for my experiences, i did play the Legendary Edition for the first time with a few guides and still loved it, and getting to experience everything the games have to offer without making a mistake by accident was super satisfying! Still, a full blind playthrough like yours is still great and really fun to watch! Always good to remember: Paragon dialogue is top, Renegade is Bottom, always investigate and choose the left dialogues first, and don't launch a mission called Reaper IFF before you finish everything else you want before the endgame.

1:44:31 Ah ok, well if you do play as vanguard in Mass Effect 3, you may change your mind on manually selecting abilities, mostly due to cooldown times for abilities, well for two of them anyways, two of vangaurds abilities in ME3 are usually used one after the other on repeat.

I don’t think Dr Archer was in the project to help his brother in the first place… and David “was volunteered”, he didn’t volunteer himself, and it would have been questionable to think him competent to make that decision as he wouldn’t have understand what he was volunteering for anyway.

you should have expolored more I think. In Mass Effect you don't need to immediately do every action the game prompts you to, but that is just my two cents, nothing personal 🙂 there are several places where toe monument can be placed and some were tied to certain crewmembers. As for the DLC itself, I think in this case it hits differently, if you got this DLC months after finishing base game. I'm not usually fan of DLCs that could be cut out of base game to be sold separately, but if you play the game, you blow up Normandy, die, and in five minutes appear 2 years in the future, but getting to this crashsite months after finishing the game, it really feels much more personal, because real time pass since you experience the destruction of Normandy ingame.

hey, take your time, expole if you want play the game the way you like it, It may be sometimes frustrating, but that is the thing. I played the game and I played it differently, I want to see how you play it. the only thing is that you don't have to always click every prompt outright, not even quick prompts. yes I am too sometimes guilty of backseat gaming, but if someone want you to play the game exactly the way THEY want, they can play it themselves

Firewalker missions are ok for a little xp, minerals and if you wanted some practice in the vehicle. The end mission of the questline is fun.

I will say that this playthru was making me a little nauseous with all the flipping around of the camera. It’s usually not as bad for the one playing (just like people getting carsick only when they’re a passenger I guess)

I think it's a shame that you wear a helmet 24/7 in this game. As human beings, most of our empathy, our ability to relate, stems from simply being able to look upon the face of the people we are talking to. I think playing with a helmet puts a barrier between you and your Shepard, and makes the big story beats hit much less hard. It might be realistic, but it sure ain't as fun, lol. There is a reason why all squadmates generally don't wear helmets either.

I actually installed a mod after episode 7 to just make the helmet invisible. So i can always see shepard's face. its probably gonna be odd still hearing the "comm" sound effect as he talks like hes wearing the helmet. But thats better than losing the perk of wearing the helmet in combat and missing the expression

You schould take Grunt (Krogan) with you if you take him -and dont forget give him best shitgun in game -only for him -heis phenomenal warrior .The Arrival DLc you must do last before main mission - this is important . Lair of the Shadow Broker dlc is very strong too so i recommended take Grunt with you . If you will do Talis special mission you schould take hard no normal difficulty-if you do you will have fine prize for that .
