I think its interesting the way John went about this video, it certainly feels more like a Crash Course: History than it does a Crash Course: Games. I enjoyed it though, but I suppose thats because I enjoy the other videos as well.

If only it were a sport for the poor in US like it is elsewhere. Some of the best players in world came from nothing. All they had was a ball to kick around and some friends to play with. It's a shame we don't have that same atmosphere here in the states.

Oh my god I would love that. Especially since Greek Mythology is a course that is starting to be offered more and more at colleges all around the US. Idk about other countries, but it would be awesome to have an extra edge above the rest barring the Greek mythology knowledge I gained from reading Percy Jackson when I was younger and the additional research I did on the various myths. Anyway, I wholeheartedly support a Crash Course Greek Mythology Course.

Gladiatorial combat was also a spectator sport; and wasn't it the Aztecs who beheaded the loser of their ball sport (can't remember what it was called)? How many sports do spectators watch for the violence that may occur (American football, hockey, car racing)? I think part of sports appeal is that it alleviates some of our own need for violence.

I have been watching the first few episodes of Crash Course Games with Andre. Seeing John Green as a temporary host was one of the few surprises that are nice, like an unexpected tax refund, or... ran out of things that are nice ideas. Although I suppose it is fitting that it is John who is covering an episode about FIFA.
