For example, i almost understand what are you talking but to talk like you it is no way for me. It is sometimes makes me disappointed and frustrated. Just found your channel and it has inspired me so much that the way you put your effort, dedication and passion to over your difficulties and got succeed. Keep it up.

omg I experienced the same thing with you 😭 4 years ago, when I was a finalist of an exchange program and I have to give presentation about a random topic chosen by the commitee. I guess I was too nervous that my mind went blank and I barely speak. It gives me a traumatic moment and everytime I tried to speak in english I stuttered a lot. Now I'm a new teacher in a school that mostly use english. I just found your channel last month (omg where have I been) and you helped me a lot to learn, practice and gradually give me self confident to speak english again. Thank you so much, looking forward to your other videos ❤️ and yes I love your editing ☺️

This is my daily life. What's funny is that I am also a performer but only excel if there's a script. I'm screwed if I have to depend on my brain alone. It's comforting to know other people struggle with this as well and that there are ways to improve. Thanks for opening up about your own struggle with this. Much appreciated.

I'm so glad I stumbled across your video! I've been experiencing this in cycles. I always thought it was happening because english is my second language. But, on some days, I suprise myself by the fluency and choice of words, and some days my speech is fragmented and choppy. Later, I realized it's mostly due to social anxiety. I overthink everything, which consumes my whole brain and leaves little space to say anything coherently.

Oh my god, idk what in the universe brings me here! This is so relatable. The difference is i worked as freelance tutor for this new online learning company where i have to create a learning video for JHS & SHS student. We were expected to provide a certain amounts of videos with deadlines. At the end, i flopped so bad that i only managed to accomplish half the target. I was working in a team, so my teammates have to bear the consequences of doing my portion and gets the payment deferred. Eventually by some personal needs, i decided to quit with shame and embarassment that i still bring up to this day. It also costed me grade flop in my study and 8+hours 24/7 everyday in a month with return far below my expenditure. I feel so anxious, regretful, insecure and mad at the same time whenever i recalled that event.

Yeah, Kak. I felt the same while trying to speak English or even Indonesia. But, now I m so grateful, those moments caused all of the words that I totally forgot before kept by my mind stronger than before.

I struggle with this big time. In my head, everything is fluent and make sense. As soon as I open my mouth it just jumbled rubbish. I am glad there is actually a term for it and not the only person who deals with this. Edit to add: I am a monolingual English speaker and still really struggle with this
@WikanBasutama3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this. I've been struggling with the same issue, but I never knew how to put it into words. The thing is, it also happens when I speak my native language, which is Indonesian. I agree that stage fright is one of the issues, and for me it's also the fear of my mind going blank or forgetting to deliver an important point. Usually to combat this I would spend more time scripting and rehearsing prior to a presentation. Anyway, glad to know I'm not alone! P.S.: Having recently started my own channel, I thought scripting was a tedious process. But seeing that you, a much more experienced content creator, still script page after page somewhat makes me feel better. It's just a necessary part of the process. Haha Keep up the good work!
@jamesolelo4406 Жыл бұрын
Glad you figured that out. Just so you know,big youtubers are all scripted. It's like making mini movies and with time and money it saves vs just praying and hoping and then going back and re filming. They usually script,film, and have multiple videos waiting to post. It really is just apart of the process

hey, chill there girl, i've been working in both IT industry and academic research for as long as 10 years now, and many of my colleagues are still struggling to understand what i'm trying to say. The worst part is when you have great ideas/thoughts, they all just wasted to the back of your mind, leaving at your front some half-sense or not even close to what those real ideas are..... so tragic.

Kan disitu ada agenda, jd kita dibuatkan team untuk menampilkan hiburan, nah waktu itu timku dptnya drama (jd bagi srintingan dulu kan, nah dptnya drama), sumpah aku tuh langsung anxiety disitu pas tau aku hrs mendrama,mana disuruh bikin sendiri lg naskahnya. Trus karna timku kesulitan membuat naskahnya dan waktunya sempit, trus ada yg nyaranin dahlah kita improvisasi aja deh... Sumpah aku bahkan ga ngerti alurnya mau kek mana, trus aku disuruh berperan jd pembawa acara yg centil, ya bnr aja dong pas tiba waktunya aku cuma bisa dibagian pembukaan trus kesininya aku blank dan rekanku marah "cuman gw doang yg ngomong heh!". Aku sadar klo aku yg salah, tp aku jg gbisa improvisasiiiTT,dia nyaranin improvisasi ya dia bisa aku g bisa, trus aku benci bgt hr itu,malu bgt kenapa aku mau ikut makrab ya bayar 150k lg, pdhl pas keesokan hrnya ada tmnku yg bilang dia g ikut makrab karna rumahnya jauh. Hrsnya aku ijin sakit aja waktu itu. Udh terpaksa trus kena marah lg huhuuTT

I´m 1 min in and know that I have very low verbal fluency. The problem even is intensified by my knowledge of several languages, so that my brain can´t decide what language is most adequate to express my thought. Probing my brain for words, trying to make sentences that fit those thoughts and all of that in real time. Sorry, but that´s too much for me.
