I watch every single one of your videos and have done so for the past 2, maybe 3 years, but I just realized I've never left a comment. lol So I just wanted to say I love watching you talk, love seeing your opinions on books, love your personality and love your romance recommendations. I believe you are a beautiful human, inside and out! So thank you for sharing these vlogs with us, it's sometimes a ray of sunshine in a difficult day and I'm grateful for that. And for you. Stay amazing, gorgeous. xx 💜 Edit: Oh, and I'm from Brazil! So in case you read this, just know you reach people hundreds of miles away from you. Much love from Brazil. xx

Omg that stinks about Sea Witch. I’m obsessed with Ursula. She’s my second favorite villain so I was very excited to read Sea Witch but now I must pick up Language of Thorns.

I've read the Veronica Speedwell books and adored them! I'm currently reading the first book in the author's other series called the Lady Julia Grey Mysteries and I'm enjoying that a lot as well. :)

love seeing someone talk about veronica speedwell! the same author has another completed series which is the lady julia grey mysteries. veronica is probably the more polished but julia is still a great read. i also love anna lee huber's historical mysteries (she has 2 series) and the amelia peabody series which being a little older has loooads of books!

I really love your vlogs and will give the Veronica Speedwell books a go, so thanks for the recommendation. A historical mystery series I can really recommend is the Frey & McGray series by Oscar de Muriel, if you are not aware of it already.

This is totally random but I know that you like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I was wondering if you ever listened to the Buffering the Vampire Slayer podcast? I saw this pop up in my subscription box and got a notification for the podcast at the same time. I also love your reading vlogs and look forward to them all the time.

You might want to check out the Vicky Bliss mystery series by Elizabeth Peters, they're really fun and sounds like they might be in the vein of the series you like.

This is an old video, so not sure if you will see my comment. But if you are still looking for a fun historical mystery adventure series (with a touch of sci-fi), I recommend to check out The Chronicles of St Mary series by Jodi Taylor. Kitty G on booktube did a good review of it.

Hey. The Book of the Unnamed Midwife sounds right up my street! I know what you mean about having to wait so long for the next book in a series... this is why I only start them, mostly, when the series is complete (and I tend to binge read from start to finish...). If you're still after historical mysteries, try "www.goodreads.com/series/109102-the-chronicles-of-st-mary-s"][/URL][/U] The Chronicles of St Mary's series by Jodi Taylor. There's loads of novels and novellas in the series already available. I've heard about it from a few different people and it seems to be what you're looking for.

I think the sea witch is actually based off of the original sea witch in the brothers grim original Fairytale. Disney created The character of Ursula.
@RileyMarie_

when I say ursula I mean the sea witch and not exclusively disney's version. that's just the same I associate with it

Riley Marie oh okay. In my opinion there’s always been a redeeming quality to the Disney Ursula.

Dyslexic Muggle the original fairytale of the little mermaid is actually by Hans Christian Andersen and is very dark and pretty sad especially compared to the Disney adaptation. He wrote several other fairytales and none of them have a good ending :D Sorry just had to add this because his fairytales are very different from the Grimm fairytales, though both are definitely darker than the Disney adaptations.

Yeah. I've glanced over the original and. . . ugh. I couldn't stand it. There's no actual villain and the ending made me gag. Oh, and doesn't The Snow Queen have a somewhat good ending?
@elizabethreads0312
@elizabethreads0312 6 жыл бұрын
Boydgirl I wouldn’t say the snow queen had a happy ending it was more of an okay ending. The Snow Queen by Michael Cunningham is a book inspired by the original tale (very loosely) their really isn’t much action but it a character study that looks at dealing with terminal illness of a love one, mental health problems, grieving someone while their living and more. It’s really interesting and worth the read I think I gave it 3/5 Stars when I read it a few years back but I think I would enjoy it more now. It is a really slow paced novel so I would read it while reading something else. You need time to digest what’s going on.
