It depends what you mean by enough. Quality-wise it's enough if your expectations are realistic. Zoom-wise, it's the same thing. You won't be able to zoom-in on the green from the tee for example. Thanks for the great video. I am waiting for the ZV E-10 to arrive. Main purpose will be to video my son's basketball games. Will the 24 to 75 Tamron lens be good enough if I record from center court (anywhere from a couple of rows up from the court to several rows up) or should I get the 70 to 180 Tamron lens? Your feedback is appreciated.
@BeyondTheGame_E
@BeyondTheGame_E 2 жыл бұрын
It's hard to tell for sure, every venue is different. Sounds like you'll probably be in a few situations where the 28-70mm won't zoom as far as you want it to. But relying only on a 70-180mm lens on an APS-C camera is going to make it quite hard to film someone less than 10ft away from you. that's why I recommend getting both. If you choose one, you're automatically sacrificing something.

Great video as always! If I have a 70-200mm F2.8 on a Canon EOS R10 (crop sensor) do you recommend the 24-70 f2.8 or the 24-105mm f4 IS USM ii. The 24-70 is much more expensive, so I wasn't sure how critical it was to having f2.8 vs f4. Currently shooting primarily lacrosse and Wa looking for a wider angle lenses for warmups and pregame closer up. Let me know your thoughts and thank you!!!
@BeyondTheGame_E
@BeyondTheGame_E 9 ай бұрын
There's no wrong answer to this question honestly. It just depends what your priorities are. the F2.8 lens probably looks slightly better and will give you more cinematic blurry backgrounds as well as help you out in low light conditions. But since you film lacrosse (outdoors), low light is probably not an issue for you and filming at F4 is better to keep most of the action in focus. The F4 lens also comes with stabilization and a greater zoom range. So yeah, whatever is the thing that you want the most out of all that, just buy the lens that has it.

Hey, how important do you think image stabilisation is when filming sports handheld and at further focal lengths? I keep going back and forth in search for cameras and lenses that have stabilisation. Would I be fine if I shot on a camera that had built in stabilisation while using lenses that don't have stabilisation? And do you have an idea of what I would be like using a setup whether neither camera of lens were stabilised. Bare in mind I’m looking to shoot handheld.
@BeyondTheGame_E
@BeyondTheGame_E Жыл бұрын
Shooting handheld is a skill so, even with the right tools, some people are much better at it than others. Personally I can get away with having stabilization in camera and not in the lens but no stabilization at all would be a painful experience followed by a lot of stabilization in post-production.

Purely based on the technical specs, the Sigma is better. But if you film a basketball game with the same camera and use both lenses, no one (even experts) would be able to tell the difference. @@BeyondTheGame_E I went with a canon m6 mii and got the tamarin lens. I use your tips in your vids and the setup works pretty good for our local lacrosse club. Keep up the great work and thanks for the LUT pack!

I've fallen into the false theory you need 70-200 to film or photograph basket ball game. Sure if you on the stands then it's true. But if you got access to the court, than 24-70 or 24-105 is much better.
@BeyondTheGame_E

I agree. Especially if you're filming in 4K. You can always zoom in a bit in post.

Can this lens be used for canon m50 ?

These are Sony E mount lenses but Tamron makes similar lenses for Canon too. Although you will need an adaptor to use them on the M50.

@@BeyondTheGame_E yes I have the e mount , so what tamron lens should I go with for sports videography for my canon m50 ?

@@ONLYYTURBOO Like I said in the video, the quality in both lenses is exactly the same. So, the only thing that matters is which zoom range you are after.

If I want to film American football with a a6400 would the 70-180 be like the Sony 70-200

Pretty much yes. Except the Tamron doesn’t have internal stabilization.

@@Jambamode first of all, the Sony A6400 doesn’t have gyro data so you can’t use Catalyst browse to stabilize A6400 footage. But if you are filming with a tripod, it should be fine. It’s your handheld shots that are going to be very difficult.

50 to 140mm, that's a great zoom range for an F2.8 lens! What made you switch from Sony to Fuji?
