I made chaffle cakes. I do not have a chafle maker [its on my Christmas list] then put them on a pan like pancakes, pressed them down a little and I was delighted wit6h the result. I added garlic powder then ate them with a little Siracha sauce for breakfast. Wonderful change up. Even if I do get my chaffle maker for Christmas I will still make these.

When I used to cook with my George Foreman, I used to clean it with the damp paper towel, but I would add a spritz or two of white vinegar to the paper towel. It would help soak up the extra oil from cooking. When it cooled down completely, I would simply use that towel to wipe up any residue from the appliance (I’d use an additional paper towel with a light spritz of vinegar if needed). Many thanks, Sarah and Emily, for testing keto and chaffle recipes for us!

I have all my own real teeth, but I bought a denture brush specifically for cleaning my mini waffle maker (I bought the mini that Walmart here carries, and it's perfect). The denture brush, because of the one side that has the narrower section of bristles, makes cleaning the waffle maker very easy. I've used it on my full-size waffle maker, too, and it does a great job on that, as well.

I just made my very first chaffle from your recipe!! 🎉🎉🎉 A lil backstory... I bought a Dash more than a year ago when I tried keto. I never used it til now. I was 217 on 4/20 when my baby brother and SIL visited us in Tennessee from Mississippi. She had lost 95lbs since last I'd seen them, doing dirty keto. I should weigh around 130, but haven't been able to lose weight since my last baby was born. She is 6 now. I'm 43 and have tried many things to lose weight. It's so frustrating to have NOTHING work and be so big I can't tie my shoelaces comfortably or trim my toenails 😢 so I am more committed this time. I've lost 7 lbs so far, in less than 3 weeks. I'm not really missing bread, but it's nice to add something other than eggs to my repertoire lol. I'm getting ready to eat these with tomato and avocado with some everything bagel seasoning and cream cheese! 😋 Can't wait! Thanks for a great recipe!

Finally decided to try chaffles (the new recipe). I am not a huge fan of cheese so I have been reluctant to do so. Now I am a chaffle fan. Great Recipe!! So crunchy. My waffle maker makes two square chaffles at a time. I find that using ¾ cup of cheese opposed to 1 cup, then spreading it out from the center and stopping at the last row of raised squares is perfect. They fill out the entire section with no excess to clean up. We like to take the chaffles out and immediately spread a generous dollop of butter over it. Then add Choc-Zero jam or syrup and eat. Today, we picked fresh strawberries to put on them. Occasionally, like with todays fresh strawberries, we whip some heavy whipping cream and add that on top as well. YUM!

Tips for your eggs. To sub whites for whole egg separate several eggs and Weigh out about 52 gr of egg white for each recipe This is same weight as whole egg and will have same moisture level. Use the yolks in your scrambled eggs. Add 1 yolk to two whole eggs. This adds more fat to your eggs and makes them smoother. This idea comes from America’s Test Kitchen who always adds an extra yolk You can also buy liquid egg whites only in the store next to where you would get scramblers. Costco sells it too.

Great demo and recipe! Thanks! I wish Dash would make a ceramic version of their mini waffle maker that is both PTFA and PTFE-free. I have a bird, and bird owners cannot use any cooking equipment with “normal” non-stick coatings, because when heated, they give off (odorless) fumes that will kill a bird in minutes. I make my chaffles on a full-size Oster waffle iron that has a ceramic coating. It works, but I have to try to place the batter in such a way that I am using only 1/4 to 1/2 of the large circle. It is definitely not ideal if you want to use the chaffles as “buns.”

Can I throw my chaffle recipe into the ring? I love this recipe and it is NOT eggy and has a bread taste and consistency (in my opinion.) I would love to hear your thoughts. 4 TB egg white 1/2 C shred Mozzarella 1 tsp psyllium husk powder 1 tsp nutritional yeast. Makes enough for two 1/4 c servings to make 2 chaffles. Cook in your Dash for 4 minutes. Very sturdy, less eggy and seems more bready. Extra crispy: Use 3 TB egg white at 3 minutes
