I cant begin to tell you how much this video helped me control my macro/calorie intake, Thanks Evan!
@JaxPearlReviewsPops2473 жыл бұрын
im at 244lbs and intake right around 4200 calories daily, 305gms of Protein, 135gms of fats, and 244gms of carbs (usually boost that up on leg day and/or higher cardio days) to around 400gms of carbs
@krissimon25025 жыл бұрын
Nicely done! Simple way to figure out daily intake. For me personally .75 g of protein / lb is the right amount but everybody is different. People taking anabolics can definitely benefit from more protein intake.
@bobboberson66642 жыл бұрын
Same I'm 360lbs and I'm not eating 500g a day if protein, i like 300

I also agree with the 1:1:1 macro split. I personally like a bit more carbs but just eating whole foods gets me around 1:1:1
@jurjenbavelaar15586 жыл бұрын
I LOVE Evan and his down to earth approach. But I think his protein recommendation is very high for the "average" bodybuilding enthousiast.
@josphellihsilak45886 жыл бұрын
Jurjen Bavelaar youre absolutely correct. The average lifter, who is typically natural, doesnt need that much. Natural vs steroid eating is the one place bodybuilders never touch on, and its silly.
@CheeseStickzZ6 жыл бұрын
It's way too much. Maybe if you're on steroids, otherwise 0.8 - 1 g / lb of bodyweight is more than enough
@jurjenbavelaar15586 жыл бұрын
Agreed! However, if you're severely cutting calories. Higher protein might have merit for satiety reasons.
@jurjenbavelaar15586 жыл бұрын
For sure, it's a shame!
@jurjenbavelaar15586 жыл бұрын
zdubz I personally recommend this; 0.82 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight. At LEAST 20% of daily caloric intake from fats. The rest of your calories may be protein/carbs/fat, whatever you prefer. And, I use 15 x bodyweight in pounds as a ballpark estimate for maintenance calories. Track your weight and adjust if needed. If you want to lose weight (fat not muscle) don't diet too hard -> aim for a pound per week to max 1% of bodyweight per week.

I like Evan a lot but even 1.25g per lb is still very high based on the relevant data. Obviously if you prefer that or want it for satiety reasons I get that, but anyone not taking gear even dieting doesn’t need that much for a sufficient amount.
@5517-j3q6 жыл бұрын
Michael TigerTrue, 0.8-1g per lbs of body weight is the safe range for natural lifter.
@mbtiger936 жыл бұрын
Captain Mantastic if you’re referring to lbm then that makes sense, but actual bw even 1g per lb is on the higher side based on the current data.
@akuma28926 жыл бұрын
*Captain Mantastic* Not sure why you're saying "nope" etc. Evan didn't use lean body weight, he used body weight and 1.25g per lb of body weight is high.
@gregballard43186 жыл бұрын
ARNOLD said himself 1G per LB of body weight was his recipe
@silentk596 жыл бұрын
I agree, every one is different and processes things differently. But unless your on gear theres NO WAY you could successfully burn off/adequately use all those macro and micro nutrients. Anyone natty is better to stay around 1g per lb or less. Youll just be a bloated mess if you eat that much and arent on something. People seriously dont understand the massive difference it makes in your body regulation. Not just training, your an eating/processing machine on gear. The only people ive seen eat and process more is like Brian Shaw And Thor lol.

Evan, what is your opinion on increasing Salt in diets? Specifically mineral rich salts (himalayan or red man's real salt) Specially diets of athletes. I havent had a chance to read The Salt FIx, but I'm curious if you personally have done any research into increasing salt in your diets. I personally have just watched a few videos on the subject but noticed that having 1-3tsps of salt before a work out really does help my performance (running).

The most down to earth and informative bodybuilder I have seen so far on the platform. And I am not personally big on bodybuilding myself, but I still watched a couple of Evan's videos and I realized that he is talking about everything. He's doing what everyone else like him in the community should do and instead you see a bodybuilder frying a f-ing grapefruit with houney and cinnamon on top and it "tastes like candy". Or you see a boring ass person doing simple eggs and oatmeal for 7 minutes, when he could've done it in 3-4 minutes and it's a meal plan made by his nutrition coach, lol, straight up bullshit, man. Like Evan said, people are hung up on what they're eating and they lie to themselves that they're so original and their food is just so exciting, when in reality they end up doing complete bullshit. Like Evan said "If you gonna eat 6 times a day, you gonna end up tired no matter what you eat anyways. Just shut up and eat". One thing is for sure, Evan is so far the only bodybuilder I have seen on the platform that lifts heavy, eats healthy and drinks water and is consciouss enough to show it on camera.
