Sushi Ghost gets PC port, Ubisoft instantly:' 'We have game with samurais as well! Guys look! ''

Hahaha, I know right? Definitely feels like siblings trying to one up each other 🤣 It is going to be interesting how Ubisoft will design the gameplay/combat, either slow and similar to Ghost, or keep to their usual formula 🤔

@@ironenoch Considering there was a hidden blade in the trailer, I would speculate its another Mirage. Even the new Star Wars outlaws will be 3rd person, which indicates Ubisoft really wants to look at them from a side and marvel at what they see. Which might explain the rinse/repeat formula for their titles. I really hope im wrong, but either way Ubisoft is not getting my money anymore :D

I’m so impressed with “sushi ghost” How did you even come up with that? So creative and funny.

That's got nothing to do with it. They released the trailer when they did because of the stockholder report issued the same day and it was going to miss market estimates so they dropped this trailer hoping to keep the stock price drop to a minimum

The characters are historically accurate. Shinobis/ninjas did have females in their ranks and mainly participated in espionage. Yasuke was a real person in Japan although he was never actually a samurai. He was a swordbearer for about 15 months to Oda Nobunaga until his death.

Actually read about this yesterday, I didn't know of Yasuke before this, that's pretty cool that they put him in the game! But I agree with your other comment, the concept and idea is great, but Ubisoft has lost their touch and might be better off selling the IP before it's too late..

That is not entirely true He was a retainer which back then was a "samurai esc" figure. He did indeed carry Oda's sword but that granted him higher status than most deeming him a trusted ally. Him being a retainer meant he was granted a sword and some lodging that made him basically the same as samurai. If you need any resources to confirm me i can give some. Just wanted to clear it up a bit.

Thank you for that clarification! 👍 I remember learning about Yasuke but had forgotten about him during my reaction to this trailer.

@@TearReader "might be better off selling the IP before its too late" xD You seriously wrote Ubisoft might be better selling AC IP? Unironically? xDDDDD Thanks for the laugh m8. I do enjoy reading comments sometimes, especially when people think they are writing something clever, when they say most outrageous stuff. Dont take it personally - happens to everyone on occassion

Gosh... First and foremost at the time of yasuke the word yasuke was not popular at all. Secondly while we have no proof that he was called a samurai (1 of the reasons is the first point I made) We can say we don't know. That's the correct thing to say. We don't know if he was or wasn't because there is a lot of evidence that proves that he most likely was. One of the biggest ones is the fact that this so called meer weapon bearer or retainer was payed a stipend for his services. That alone is a huge thing for a black retainer in feudal Japan. I could go and on but I think this is probably the biggest point

In the future, when Assassin Creed made one set in Africa. I want a Japanese Main character in that game. Ok? It's only fair.
@jokeruiner4481
@jokeruiner4481 28 күн бұрын
Actually that's totally fair but not Japanese... Chinese. There are many historical figures who actually arrived in Africa that were Chinese.

Here's the thing about the trailer dropping when it did and the pre-order stuff being pushed. On the same day the trailer dropped Ubisoft issued their quarterly stockholder report and it missed on market expectations so Ubisoft knew the stock was going to take a hit (and it did drop 10%) so basically this was released to show investors that there was something big in the pipeline to go with Star Wars Outlaws to bring in some cash in the near future (and their stock recovered 5% or half of the loss today) A lot of people thought it had something to do with Ghost of Tsushima PC dropping Thursday but really that had nothing to do with it, it dropped when it did, the way it did because of the stockholder report issued the same day. Odyssey did have something none of the games had before (or since) and that was a really good armor and weapons upgrade system and you could make so really interesting builds specific to your playstyle. Me I'm a big archery buff so I made some Hunter builds that were fun to use. It had a wide variety of weapons and armor types and with the transmog system you didn't get stuck with a gimpy looking armor with great stats. If you are into game where you min-max armors and abilities Odyssey is fun and unique for an AC game. If you don't like that kind of thing then Odyssey can be hard to play because the wide variety of weapons, armors, and engravings could be overwhelming and you really need to take advantage of it to beat some of the harder mercenaries and bosses (mythical creatures) They took all of that away with Valhalla and when they did add transmog it cost like 50 silver per piece where in Odyssey it was no-cost so you were free to experiment with not just the armor stats but how you look by mixing and matching all the different armors

Oh, that's very interesting! Thank you for the info, I would greatly appreciate more in-depth info in the future 😊 That does make a lot of sense. Ahhh, I didn't know that about Odyssey. That's actually pretty cool they did that, I never got into the core of that game due to some life situations at the time of release. And yeah, at the end of the day, I'll be the first to admit that video games are about the experience. The motivation behind making them can change, but gamers the world over look for an experience that they want, and if they enjoy it, there is no reason to discourage them. We all have preferences. Odyssey just never kept my attention, but it's awesome to hear you enjoyed it! Was there anything else Odyssey did differently?

I felt that the dialogue was a little generic, nothing from what the characters said really grabbed me. And after binging Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, I'm burnt out. I need to see gameplay.

That's a good point, I didn't pay close attention to the dialog. Now that I think back on it, it was bland. Agreed, gameplay is needed a decision is made.

Ubisoft's CEO stated, with his whole chest that gamers should get used to not owning their games. So no, I am not renting this trash for $90 for the standard edition when Ghost of Tsushima exists. The best thing about Ubisoft's games are their trailers. That being said, and being a person, 'one of many' who have been asking Ubisoft, and waiting for years for them to release AC in feudal era Japan, I am unimpressed. I don't trust the AC franchise in the hands of Ubisoft anymore.
@ironenoch
@ironenoch 29 күн бұрын
100% agreed. It's interesting to see, but it's not all that impressive. There are indie games that I'm far more excited to see/game. Yeah, I'm not buying a game for $70. If they want us to just rent them, then that is what I'll do. They can have $17 for a month until I get board trying them and then move on. Heck, it's the same price for most streaming services now.

I hate to break it to you but you have never really owned a game. All you owned was a license to use that game and that's been true since the 80's but was really cemented with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act in 1998. If you read the license agreement in nearly all games they can legally keep you from even modding the game if they so choose (or even recording gameplay and posting it online) and it was common to do so 20 years ago until Skyrim and Witcher 3 changed that dynamic by encouraging mods which drastically extended the life of their games as well as bringing in new sales 5 or 6 years later that normally weren't seen Basically and especially in America you don't own anything that has a Copyright attached to it, you only have a license for use it whether it's a game, music or a movie

I like the story and narrative decisions so far in shadow's, but I will mostly not be buying the game on release for 70 bucks. I like the series but I vote with my wallet when it comes to economic decisions.

I totally agree with you. I just hate when people get angry for the wrong reason (like a black samurai existing in a videogame or the Star wars protagonist being an average looking woman.) those are reasons that are very bigoted. But if someone hates AC for the reason you listed above which is greedy capitalist tactics then am 100 percent on board. If buying isn't owning then pirating isn't stealing.

I feel like not enough people care enough about the series in the last few years. I think if it is to have major success it will wholly rely on reviews. Just the name and premise alone is enough to satisfy a niche audience but the series' popularity has been dwindling for the past few years for sure. Plus that steep Ubisoft price tag which i will never puchase at. I have interest in Shadows but i also have interrst in Valhalla and havent even played it yet or Mirage, which didnt look like anything they havent done before, it looked too simple. I really wanted to get into Odyssey and did try but its so huge and fairly slow/pacing is odd, gameplay is meh, okay.. I think we need to get back to the renaissance/ezio times when it was the most popular. Theyve explored more sea combat after AC3, 4 etc and i dont think we need more of that as the market is fairly saturated. Which is precisely what i think of the market now for feudal japan games - ghosts of tsushima, rise of the ronin, etc, the market is saturated and we've already had great feudal japan game in ghost of tsushima. Had they done AC Shadows 10 years ago when everyone alwas desperate for it then it wouldve been fantastic. AC4 i wasnt a fan of at the time it came out though i played through most of it. I can see why people like it so much now but i feel like it wasnt appreciated in its time as much conpared to now, potentially due to the series moving away from its roots. I have hopes for the game but im keen to get back to the feeling i had when i played AC2 and Brotherhood and Revelations.
