Even Logan's limited, but OP, healing factor can't heal the consciousness. Look at Magneto, lived through a Gen-o-cide, became a supremacist, when he and X could have changed the world from Day ONE! The Human psyche can only take so much before it breaks and molds itself to it's surroundings. It's not an exact thing, Magneto V. Logan is good example, Magneto lived a horrendous and beyond terrible thing only to advocate for that thing without dying, Logan, or Wolverine has arguably died multiple times, been tortured beyond comprehension and has healed from things not even a tardigan can, And it all takes a toll on Logan's Psyche, hence the constant memory loss. Eventually though, a break would happen. Logically speaking, if his OP healing factor didn't just crap out on him, Wolverine would eventually just become a living active trigger weapon. An Immortal NUKE without the fallout.

You read Ultimate X-Men, huh? Proteus' weaknesses, his Kryptonite, was any kind of metal Wolverine and Colossus were their absolute edge against Proteus, but removing that limitation kinda made fighting him pointless, especially when Chuck was refusing any and all methods that included killing him
@pochaze6714 ай бұрын
In the Claremont/Byrne Proteus arc, we can assess that the part of Wolvie scared to death by Kevin, is the animal, because of the messing with super-senses and instincts - his material world system of perception. It takes the rationnal mind of Logan to cool it off enough, to not fleeing like a wolf before a inflamed torch. With Cyber, it's the affective psychology of Logan's human mind that were tortured. Not the same plane at all. And that seems normal, since Logan cooled down his feral nature all those years with the X-men and normal peuples... allowing his old psychic scars to resurface and be dealt with, which his feral persona and introvert behaviour prevented him to do, as long as he wasn't ready.

The reason Cyber was killed wasn't Romulus. Genesis (Cable's adopted son from future) had become evil, came back in time to lead the Dark Raiders (inhumans and mutants who followed 'survival of the fittest') after Apocalypse was defeated by Stryfe, who was also later defeated by Cable but left the legacy virus, which killed mutants. Cyber was brought to the base was betrayed by the group. They unleashed bugs that ate all his organic parts, leaving his adamantium, which Genesis planned to bond to the semi-feral Wolverine (Magneto stripped him of adamantium). Storm and Cannonball burst in, with her evenly matched against Tempest when it came to wind, but her lightning took him out and cannonball was getting overwhelmed until his pleas reached logan, who was one of those fluid tanks, he woke up, adamantium shards flew out and he eventually slew Genesis.
