Gordon is actually a very good chef. A lot of celeb chefs are glorified home cooks without a formal education. Which is fine for people wanting to make delicious home food. Them "moving" to Isreal is the last I heard of them but I'm pretty sure they fled because of criminal stuff. I honestly can't remember the sources but I was reading up on them back in 2018/2019 and allegedly Samy and Amy were in some sort of legal trouble to do with money. I'm not sure if it was laundering, drugs and/or fraud but it was something like that. Then they fled to Isreal in 2016 iirc. That was the last I heard of them but again, this was back in 2019ish when I read this and it might have been a clickbait website, I didn't cross reference anything so take it with a huge pinch of salt. All I know is they did go to Isreal because Amy had it all over her Instagram back then. Where they are now I couldn't tell you and I'm not gonna look it up because I honestly don't care. Samy might even be dead by now and if not, he's getting on at least so maybe if Amy wants another 5minutes of fame or whatever, we will see her back in some sort of public space when he kicks the bucket.

I worked for a restaurant where they did share tipping, but with a higher hourly wage. However, the owners were husband and wife and they did some pretty shady practices. The two other servers and I noticed our added tips to our paychecks were MUCH less than what we actually made. I discovered the owners were taking our tips for themselves (when it is illegal to do so where I'm at) along with getting away with doing some other illegal things. The husband would fight with customers for stupid reasons, tell people false information about food on the menu, and would buy liquor from the store next door for the bar instead of a legal vendor.... yeah, my coworkers and I got the hell out of there and took our regulars with us 😅 (Bonus: The restaurant was shut down after the owner got in a heated argument with the landlord). Yep. With these two clowns the producers of the show could’ve spun off two episodes-the crazy just kept being thrown out. Like Joe Nagy and his nuttiness. But even Ramsay couldn’t stomach being with them that long; they refused to change and get help. Absolutely refused. They were utterly hopeless so Ramsay and Co cut their losses and ran for the hills.

Just letting everyone here know: If a restaurant does not give you your tips (that includes splitting them among staff) to me, it's a huge red flag. I have worked in multiple restaurants, and I can tell you with certainty that the ones that split/kept tips were guaranteed to treat their staff poorly. It shows an utter lack of respect if you don't give your staff the money that was left FOR THEM, and if you ever find a restaurant that takes tips, see if you can tip the service member directly through some other means. It goes a long way, and makes them feel like they really did a good job. Edit: Also it is apparently illegal. Info I wish I had known while working at some of the places I did.
