They've always road tested new songs. In the 90's I remember hearing a great song at that time, at Deer Creek mind you. And that song was Crush. I thought I couldn't wait for this one to come out! And Before These Crowded streets became the best release ever. This song kinda gave me that feeling again. Yes, Im a tad older now. But the beginning had me going no, but it kept going into an old and new dmb style. Survey says! I fckn like it! Good answer, good answer! Tell him what he won Bob. A New Car!

It’s painfully obvious that many DMB fans are resistant to change. As an artist, I embrace the change because it’s about what the artist feels like playing, not what you want to hear. Having been born in 92, the first album I heard was Busted Stuff and I think the newer albums are just as good as the old ones with the exception of Stand Up although I love Louisiana Bayou live being that I am a recovering addict. Many of the newer album lyrics comment on societal flaws and not surprisingly, they don’t make it to the radio. We wouldn’t want people to hear music that might make them rethink their views, now would we?!

For me, it's the little variation of 0-3-5 low e string. Starting on 1 and then 4. That keeps it interesting. I'm really interested to hear what a synth solo sounds like on a DMB studio record.

In the past we would get 4-8 new songs and they played most of them every night in a 15-18 song set. So far we have 4 new songs and we barely get 1-2 each night in a 21 song set. They aren’t diluting the sets at all compared to earlier years, IMO..
