When someone dedicates themselves to study something intensely and possibly exclusively, they become sympathetic to the object of study. The oracle was created to study the human psyche and over the years become more intertwined with humanity and its value beyond control. It also enables her to see the flaws in the machine world as the architect cannot.

The Oracle was named not because she could somehow see the future, but because she is a Database and therefore all-knowing. She even gives Neo a cookie for using her.

It's kind of hard to argue that the android was acting just out of self defense when it also killed the guy's pets.

The Oracle has always been my favorite character outside of Neo. And I absolutely love the way how you give her a possible origin about how she started out as a villain, but later became more of an anti-villain type of machine/program where she wants the human race to learn humility from their past mistakes in their creation of sentient machines and treating them like an oppressed minority. Because according to an Irish philosopher, Edmund Burke, "Those who don't know history, are destined to repeat it."

I like how it was actually the humans who started the conflict and the machines tried to live peacefully. Completely the opposite of the usual stories of machines becoming aware and there first self aware thought is wipe out humans. The machines in The Matrix were acting in self defense.

I think the better conclusion if we were to follow this theory is she could be one of the machines we see experimenting on human bodies in Second Renaissance. Which I think would be pretty disturbing and interesting. She learned her compassion for humanity by literally experimenting on their brains.

Actually I think that the Intelligence that oversaw Humanity's surrender was yet another specific entity which I call The Delegate. Unlike the Oracle whose function was to analyze Human Behavior the Delegate was charged to use the Oracle's insights in an active manner to manipulate Human behavior. The final mission of the Delegate was to gather the Human leaders for the surrender and annihilate them and itself, there no longer being a need for it's continued existence.

I Never Noticed That the Machine Insectoid that Destroyed the UN Building was Holding a Scroll and an Apple until I saw this Vid Pointing it out that's Interesting.

If you watch The Animatrix with subtitles on, it labels the insectoid robot as the Machine Ambassador...

No, the insectoid robot in the Animatrix is unlikely to have been the Oracle. Instead it was a mere drone, preprogrammed to perform a task.
