Your videos give me some sort of strange nostalgia for the game. They make me want to climb into my ship, strap into my seat, and appreciate the surroundings of the bridge before punching the boost and screaming out of the mailslot. After watching these, I bought, outfitted, and engineered a Krait Phantom to fly out to the galactic core. I look forward to the next episode.

Another amazing video! The Orca is my favourite ship for doing stupid PvP fights, as with 2 packhounds and a reverb cascade torpedo it can actually do some heavy hitting, plus you just know the priceless expression on someone's face when they are smashed to pieces and get their modules shredded - by a cruise ship.

Oh man now I can't help but imagine a bunch of pirate boats encircling a Concordia sized cruise liner, all sparkling white, tinted glass and luxury...only for the cruise liner to open up two huge, double-barrel gun turrets and obliterating them only to continue it's evening program like nothing happened.

We bought the Orca, built it out, built a pillow fort spaceship in our living room, and flew from the bubble to Sag A* last Sunday because of this video. We’d never gone more than 1.6k LY before. Excellent channel, excellent review, and a wonderful exploration ship. We traveled in luxury, immune to worry or heat damage with room for all the niceties.

@holonaut
@holonaut Жыл бұрын
FD knew what they were doing. Ramming is how Orcas kill things irl too and they are extremely fast and manoeuverable for their weight (6 tons). Dolphins are the best ramming ship in the small ship category. They can even ram medium sized ships to death. Given that ramming can obliterate a hull faster than any other weapon, both are assassin ships in disguise

Yeah, been mining with a python, but I've been theorycrafting on building a mining orca just for shit and giggles... And by looking on sites like coriolis turned out that it is actually viable. It has more room for the stuff you need and twice the cargo you can put on the python. I'm gonna do it!

I bought an Orca about 2 weeks ago. One week ago I took on my first ever long-distance passenger jobs. 3 in all, starting from Newholm Station in Sothis; One to "the top of the galaxy", and two further north beyond the core. It took 5 days of 6-10 hour shifts just jumping to get to the first destination. ... I had to take a detour to Colonia which extended the trip by 2 days and over 9k LY. Because I forgot to install AFMUs before leaving the Bubble. .... Don't tell my passengers. One day took me to the last two destinations, and then all the way to one jump Sagittarius A. I shared that view with a friend this morning. It was my first time seeing Sagittarius. Or any black hole even. I think from this trip, I will cherish my Orca. First time I got more than 5k out of the Bubble. First time I saw space caltrops, visited Colonia, went inside a nebula... It's been a huge amount of time just jumping and plotting, and it'll probably be another 3-4 days just jumping back home... but it's given me a lot of memories no other ship I've flown has.

If only ANY of the Saud Kruger ships had kits :(. IMO the paint jobs for the SKs are .. meh... I'm out exploring in a Beluga, I'm roleplaying that I'm ferrying astrophysicists and cartographers into the unknown and the Beluga made sense. It's got everything I want (decent SC turn rate, enough optionals for all my goodies), but the only downside is the fuel scoop size. I get around it by parking next to the sun while scanning but it's like an OCD tick for me at this point lol. I might try a Type 7 but compared to the Beluga it might be like trying to photograph a barn compared to the curves of the Beluga

Great review! I personally love the Orca for exploration. Tried both the Asp and Phantom (great ships!) but they didn't quite do it for me. I think it's the relatively cramped cockpits. Anyway, switched to the Orca and it was love. Just a beautiful view out of the cockpit. Reminds me of the massive view screens from star trek. Currently am setup with exactly 60.01ly jump range with room for 8 tons of cargo, and it truly feels like I'm taking an expeditionary crew out into space, on some 5-year mission. Love it!!

The "Orca" is for want of a better comparison, a slicked out Mercedes sliding among the stars at literally breakneck speeds. She's sleek, fast and maneuverable. So named, she's a fast fish in the waters of space. This little ship can be a very fun little ship to fly when it concerns exploring the Galaxy. And she does it in style. She doesn't stand up to much a fight when it comes to combat as she has only two hardpoints so don't go getting into a fight with this little ship. She's got minimal shielding and little if no armor plating that could stand up to many direct strikes. But she makes an ideal passenger ship if you're looking to ferry passengers around the galaxy or rescue civilians from dangerous situations. So she has a lot of room on her. The luxury liner of the stars.

As someone role-playing as a cruise line captain, you don't take the beluga out instead because it's too damn big and even an autodocker bonks the ceiling of the envelope at times. Also orca is prettier as a name than baluga

Poppy music, excellent narration and I learn new things looking at juicy visuals. What's not to like?

To mix a couple of franchises, this would be a fantastic party bus for Klingons. With plenty of edibles and grub (and edible grubs) in the galley, gallons of bloodwine on tap, and more than enough room to carouse, whether with songs of pride and victory, impromptu bat'leth duels, or knocking targ-leather boots with a big-ridged honey from a rival house in deluxe VIP staterooms. But, best of all... "Yo, party Klingons on deck, this here's your captain speaking. Sensors have detected a hyu-mon freighter five hundred thousand kellicams out from us, so you know what that means...aw yeahhh, scream it with me...PREPARE FOR RAMMING SPEED!! Hang on..."

I love my Orca; one of the fastest, farthest jumping explorers... and the tourists are just extra income while exploring the galaxy.

Just found these videos and I'm in love. As a newish CMDR it's super helpful and also just really entertaining. Any chance you could do a video on my sweet baby boi Adder next?

Thanks. I'll get to all of them eventually. But next Tuesday is the Vulture.
