I may be in a position to hurt the Dwarfs since they were nonaggressors to me for a while. But soon Reikland and the Moot will come for me, then I have to fight the halflings who may have the faction-wide regeneration part of their tree.

It feels like Total War Warhammer is the very opposite of Warhammer lore Chaos/Skaven should be rolling in dough even when pumping out dozens of very expensive doomstacks One way to solve it is to make subfactions for Kholek, Sigvald, Sathorael, Malagor and Morghur Both Morathi and Kimmler join Chaos Clan Moulder and Thanquol both become playable Egil Styreborn is the FLC Hybrid LL for Norsca. He can recruit specific units from the Chaos Warriors and Chaos Dwarves Araby becomes playable with two subfactions both hostile to Arkhan, Bretonnia and Empire. One subfaction is loyal to Chaos

Never fight the Order Tide. You Need to have eredicated Empire or Bretonia by Turn 50 on VH+ for the Tide not to Happen. Or you Need to Pin them against each Other via diplomacy which is usless on L since diplomacy does not do anything on L. Basically you can not win a L as an „evil“ campaign if you did not Start close enough to the ordertide to whipe out at least One of the fractions.

@@off-meta9962 It's definitely *possible* to fight them even on Legendary if you know what you're doing. It's just kind of a pain in the ass because they can get pretty much limitless resources so you need to be able to consistently beat back their armies whilst taking minimal casulties, which unfortunately only makes a limited amount of army compositions per race viable for accomplishing that efficiently but it's doable at least

The special units Egil Stryeborn gets are cheaper and get buffs in combat Oh Egil's army gets Vanguard Deployment and +10 Speed and +Charge Defense Egil starts in Skellig in Mortal Empires and in Bretonnia in End Times

In general the only possible way to escape when being trapped in enemy zone of control is to attack an army and then immediately retreat again because that'll force the game to move you back somewhere outside enemy zone of control. So that is generally the only possible response when you're stuck like that. A lot of the time it's still not going to be enough to get you far enough away to escape however since you need to use up some movement points just to pull the trick off and you don't really know where the game will end up retreating you to. In this particular case he got pretty lucky that there happened to be a river right next to the battle site which made things a lot easier

just fyi Legend, since you don't seem to know: Vortex spells first movement is away from the caster, so you can be fairly sure if you cast it at the front of a unit it will move to the back, and possibly into a unit behind. After the first movement it is random though

At least you can still catch them afterwards. Retreats around impassible terrain are by far the worst. Routing units in sieges have similar problems, e.g. attacking units running of into the city instead of away from it.

The order tide is something I really like lore wise. It really calls out the bullshit that was the end times. Karl Franz supporting the dwarfs with food and men would allow them to charge down the entire world edge mountains after the battle of blackfire pass. Also allowing the empire to take back sylvannia with zhufbar attacking the VC in the back. This is also the first time the empire faces of against chaos with their own fully formed and organised mage orders. Put that together with new technology (firearms tanks and cannons) Karl's leadership simply means that Chaos are outgunned this time around since they rely on magic and slow artillery. Along with the thinly populated Norsca against the enormous empire and they are evenly matched in numbers only if the daemons get involved this time.

In one of my warband playthroughs I took over norsca doing the usual by making them vassals and ended up besting kislev and the empire but then they started turning on each other (my vassals) and I ended up having to trek back up to norsca mid taking over vampire lands and nuke all of it because I just didn't want to deal with it 😂 those vassals can be a pain sometimes

I've got no less than 7 full dwarf stacks sitting outside Lahmia in my Khemri game right now on turn 120. Fortunately I've got a non-aggression pact with them left over from the early game but a recent war with the Last Defenders (in which the lizards were the aggressors initially) has soured relations. I've got a high-quality army sitting in Lahmia quaking in their undead boots and just waiting for the inevitable declaration of war so I get to send it to Legend to save... the order tide (primarily the dwarfs) is ridiculous really, can't wait for WH3 to hopefully fix it...
