I've always prefered the first two Iron Maiden albums. They had a punk harshness that wasn't typical of hard rock bands at that time. Maybe it wasn't a sustainable dynamic but they certainly moved some air! I liked The Number Of The Beast but not as much as their earlier stuff.

As a gear nerd I love this footage as it shows both guitarists playing not only through a Marshall but also a HH IC100 solid state amp, which was known for its massive volume. I wonder if they were used as power amplifiers only to drive the two Marshall cabinets beneath. Also, Steve is rocking a Sunn Coliseum Bass solid state amp, which, OF COURSE, was also known for being loud AF. I love Iron Maiden in all its lineups, but the first two records hold a special place in my heart because they were the ones that introduced me to the band
