The Jotter XL ballpoint will come out in all stainless steel in late August/early September.

Those metal rings at the front of the grip are what the cap clicks on to. It allows a smaller and more comfortable step in diameter from the grip of the pen to the body.

If you only had 1 ballpoint pen for the rest of your life, for all situations, I'm pretty sure the S.S. Parker Jotter would bet the best choice. Is it the best for every situation? No. But no other pen ranks 9 out of 10 in every situation.

Some jotter ballpens have the Parker engraving under the cap, on the sleeve that’s connected to the pen clip. Also some do come in soft boxes while others come in more solid “gift-like” boxes. Can you explain why is that difference? Is it different production line? Is one is newer than the other...Can anyone explain please?

I have a Jotter fountain pen from the early 2000's. It doesn't have any silver rings or chevrons on the nib. The nib and the whole pen are really tiny. I'm pretty sure the nib is even smaller than yours. The black cartridge Quink is less opaque than the black cartridge in my Lamy Vista.

The scratchiness of the rollerball does go away in a few days, it seems to need a short break in period.

I heard one time that they added the hole in the cap serves as a choking prevention for kids that might stick it in their mouth and gets it stuck in their throats. Have not idea how true this is or not.

I have two of the original nylon barrel Jotters. They are gray and green. I bought them new in 1955 or '56. I also have a very rare "NEW" Sterling Silver Jotter and mechanical pencil set. They are in the original presentation box and even have the paper sleeve that holds the box closed. I bought the set for my father in 1973 but he never used either instrument. All are offered for sale. The sterling set will be expensive because it is "new" and in absolutely pristine condition. Lou Saalbach

Can you do a comparison review between the Parker Big Red ballpoint and Sheaffer No Nonsense ballpoint? They were very similar and popular in the 1970's.

The construction of my Jotter fountain pen is a bit different. There's no metal ring on the section and the clip (polished stainless) is stuck down into the top of the cap beside the recessed, black plastic finial. Cap imprint is PARKER T FRANCE
@jakublulek32614 жыл бұрын
That is a slightly cheaper, newer variant. You can sometimes find regular Jotter as Jotter Royal. Both have the same nib and perform the same.
@kaisattelberg55484 жыл бұрын
@@jakublulek3261 I wouldn't say so; I got a Jotter matching this description almost 6 years ago and my grandmother also has one with these design principles which is probably older (though I don't believe it's a Jotter since the body is longer and the nib is different). So what @GordieGii has is most likely a variant predating the redesign presented here as indicated by the clip, nib and section.

Their Parker rollerball is iffy. Gobby. Skippy. BUT, what IF you or someone else could figure a hack on say a Schmidt 888 or whatever, to really ride this very nice pen body. Because Parker. The Tombo and others can be too heavy. Tombo can still skip some.

All your jotters are made in India. The genuine parker ball point pens were made in UK or France. But, I think they are discontinued. You can only get them from ebay [used].

@@humanfirst11 Parker's Indian division, run by Luxor, 100% genuine. I've got a Vector rollerball, made in UK, the refill won't work unless stored upside down, maybe I should have bought the Indian version instead.

A great way to get more colorful outer bodies for all stainless looking pens/pencils is to simply use a product like Cerakote. That way you can DIY custom a pen/pencil to your color preference. Requires a bit of work but it would definitely beat a plastic body >___>

What’s the difference between the Parker jotter rollerball and gel
@osvaldomorinigo3 жыл бұрын
Rollerball uses a water-based ink cartridge and the Gel uses, well, a Gel-based ink cartridge
@osvaldomorinigo3 жыл бұрын
Generally, rollelballs are smoother but disolve in water and takes longer to dry. Gel pens are usually water resistant once they're on the paper, and altuoght they don't dry as fast as a rollerball, they do dry faster than gel pens
@MrRufusjax Жыл бұрын
Had them all. The Jotter Rollerball was total junk. The cartridge was horrible and dried out within days. I have the fountain pen Jotter that looked identical to the Rollerball. If you use the blue or blue-black cartridges its great! The black ink cartridge dries out and clogs the pen. Experimented with this and the black ink cartridges are junk. The ballpoint jotters are a great buy regardless. I love my stainless model. I've had no problems with any of my Jotter ballpoints or any of the refills, blue and black.

That jotter fp looks much nicer than the one I grabbed in Staples about two years ago. That one was not very good. There were a lot fewer metal details on it too. Is that an old model or something?
