Damn man, this video hit so close to heart. When you said "You can't just keep wasting time", it hurt hearing that so much, because I know it's true. I'm 24 now and I've spent the past 5 years just wasting time, slugging through universities that i had 0 motivation to finish, changing universities and just sitting home playing video games all day. I've wasted 5 years down the drain, and I'm so angry at myself for not doing anything for those 5 years. Now I've started a new university this year and I told myself that this is my last chance to finish university, get educated and acquire some worthwhile skills. I don't want this life man, I don't want to be addicted to videogames and doing nothing all day. I want to work hard and grind towards a better life, I want to improve myself and level up and make something of myself. I can't believe how lazy I've been... Watching your content is painful because truth hurts. But it's the truth that I need to hear. I have so many goals and dreams that I'm passionate about, but for some reason I guess I don't have mental fortitude and grit to work tirelessly towards them. And this is what I'm trying to change. Nobody ever said life is easy. But I'm optimistic, I believe in myself. I believe that I'm capable of achieving all of my goals. I just need to stop being lazy, stop procrastinating and get off my ass and hustle. Anyways, I just wanted to thank you for making content, it's really helping me shift my mindset to a better direction.

I was in the same situation. The solution for me was leaving university, learning skills on my own and getting a job in the IT industry. I've been working there for the past couple of years now and I'm thinking about going back to uni to further my education with renewed energy, in a field I've already worked in and I know I enjoy and am fairly good at. Don't think you have to go to school and then get a job and stop learning, explore, find your way. Best of luck!

I used to have the defeatist mindset until I started viewing videos like this, films like fight club, reading books on self improvement, business and I always found reading books written by soldiers telling stories of war good as well, to show the true meaning of grit and perseverance. The mindset comes from school, parents, general society. It’s madness. Ever since I started watching you it’s been a real weight off my shoulders knowing I have time (I’m 22), I know my passion, I work fucking hard in the gym, at my job and on my passion. I know it’s going to happen for me at some point. Thank you Kris for helping me escape the depressing pessimistic attitude of modern day Britain

Great attitude man, love reading comments like this. Black pill etc is cool, it's cool to be the negative one, but long term it doesn't pay. Self-improvement isn't considered sexy as such, but you do it for long enough and your life will be leaps and bounds beyond everyone else's

Yo Chris, just wanted to stop by and say thank you man. Hitting my mid 20's now and stumbled upon your account earlier this year. So much of the stuff you talk about i'm starting to see first hand; the pressure to get a GF, get married, have kids, get a mortgage. I used to dread getting older because I thought I just had to follow the same path as everyone else. It filled me with dread. Listening to your content and reading all the comments of the thousands of bosses out there about to kill their 20's, 30's, 40's and beyond gives me so much motivation to keep grinding. Keep doing your thing man.
@1STMAN3 жыл бұрын
Really appreciate it Tom. It's ridiculous once you reach 25, everyone makes short term decisions and forgets they have another 50-60 years to live. The game of "Am I winning at life at 25" is so silly, marriage, kids, a glorified loan called a mortgage has never been a measurement for me of success. If you can stay clear of the mindset of the masses - it all becomes so easy and obvious. You could literally be broke until 32, everything clicks at 33 and now you're a millionaire with 47 years of doing what you want everyday. I just don't understand the desire we have as young men to remove our freedom in exchange for gratification

This video hit me. Got mates who get girls, but they are all low value sl*gs from pubs and clubs. One night I was like "we can't keep living like this". One of my friend's reasoning for going out getting drunk every weekend in his 20s is because he will recover from getting drunk faster than he would in his 30s. They are all sound, but in order to live a similar lifestyle to the one you described, sacrifices have to be made. They aren't really sacrifices when you view it from this perspective. What am I missing out on, liver disease and potentially catching an STI from some generic girl I met on a night out in exchange for being absolutely shredded, with minimum 6 figures worth of assets, visiting top class venues, flying around in a private jet whilst everyone queues up at Heathrow etc. Easy decision to make at that point really.

I find that besides all of the drinking and partying, another trap that young men fall into is the abuse of technology. Guys will wake up early and work their jobs but spend almost every other waking second on their computers or phones seeking out some form of low-level entertainment. Right until the end of high school I myself was stuck in that trap, not consciously using my computer for a purpose, like a tool, but instead defaulting to it when I thought I had nothing else to do. I find the days that I don't even use my computer at all as fulfilling and memorable because I always FIND something else to do when I force myself away. I think a major driving factor for a lot of men's lack of motivation, youths in particular, is their inability to step away from a computer or phone and spend an hour just thinking.

I will say this. Having a good father figure plants IMMENSELY important seeds in your self-esteem growing up, and I genuinely feel that those have manifested into the way I navigate the world today. Im sure it’s part genetics too. But Im sure it’s a mix of nature and nurture. when I see people that are zealously pursuing their full potential, WITHOUT having that type of father figure, is big respect. It’s a way bigger obstacle to INSTILL those seeds by yourself, while growing up and discovering life “alone” in that sense.

Kris, all I can say is that you’re the goat man. I’m 24, turning 25 in October and you have me so damn hyped about optimizing the male advantage. What I love about you is that you make it more than okay to want all of the good aspects of male life and you inspire/motivate us to achieve the things that come from the good side of male life. It’s funny, you always bring up looking like a David Gandy type of man, having a nice 10 with you, having luxurious, well fitted/tailored clothes and suits, driving a nice sports car, with so much money in the bank that you can do whatever the hell you want. That’s the exact type of shit I’ve been striving for in my life and you’re the only other person of great influence that talks about wanting the same things. It’s cool to have that relatability. Keep killing it man. Also, I think you brought this up before, but how can we invest in the streaming platform? I would love to put my money behind a male life style driven streaming platform and knowing that it’s YOU behind the scenes building it, I would be more than comfortable to invest in that.

Jordan! That's kind words man, real big praise I appreciate it. Still 24? With your mentality, that's a dangerous man in the making! 100% society always tells us beautiful women are hollow, expensive cars are stupid and so on, yet married men with kids are the only unhappy ones I see. Yeah absolutely - the crypto side of 1STMAN is something I work on at least once per week. There will be fan tokens which will give exclusive rights and content - ie; early release, bts content, opportunity to win props, meet and greets with the actors, ability to rate content etc - these you guys can buy and then sell for more/enjoy for yourself. Secondly I'd like to do shares/but in a crypto like fashion - coins would kind of work, but i'd like to do it so you guys are part owners. If anything ever happened to me, instead of GQ buying 1STMAN the community would own it. I'm currently working on a men's lifestyle NFT idea I can reveal tomorrow, I think it's really cool, hopefully you guys do too - it'll be a great opportunity for you guys to make money too

My father moved on to a new family and has never expressed any interest in what I’m doing, so I never had that positive male role model. As you’re asking the dope rhetorical question of “how can drinking and doing drugs be your peak as a youth?”, it reminds me of how in many stories, especially good stories, partaking in execsssive consumption especially drugs/alc makes for a terrible tale. Humans enjoy action & momentum in movies/books yet we often get lost in the sauce of not realizing how that’s necessary in our life. Art reflects life and so on & I believe that’s how depression/misery comes into play: when the spirit is stagnant and isn’t growing. Pushing forward/expansion (whether external or internal) is the water/sun/soil for the flower of our souls.
@1STMAN3 жыл бұрын
100% - without momentum it's almost impossible to feel good. I've often said the fear of turning 30 depends on momentum. You could be broke, but 10 years into a business journey and feel optimistic about the future. But if you're about to turn 30 and have nothing but drunken nights collected then it's hard to see a route forward

6:00 I had that defeatist mindset I think because no one in my immediate family had much of a growth mindset and were more about getting by (depressing 9 to 5 etc). And I was pretty much bullied at school by the jock types who blossomed early and roadman types and at home by verbally and physically abuse parents. Basically in my youth and teens I felt like a sub human and that there was no way out of my predicament and it made me pretty socially awkward and depressed. I appreciate the period right after this because it was where I experimented, researched and did alot of reading on philosophy, money, politics, red pill etc. After that in college around 18, 19 I kinda bloomed and uni I started to experience the same kinda life that the guys in highschool did, parties, clubbing alcohol, flirting with women that I used to be terrified of etc. I realised I didn't like it. Fell back into depression as it felt sloppy and low quality. In my solitude I realised I wanted the same lifestyle you talk about in your vids. So started researching again, then started training, learning languages, investing and working.. Now my life has purpose as I know what I am working towards and I'm thinking 20 years ahead and looking forward to my 40s at the age of 22. Damn, comment was longer than I expected 😅

I feel you, I got bullied up to 19 years old and from that moment I decided to get into the self improvement world but due to my p addiction I kept being immature. If i worked on my addiction back then and took action in getting a side business and working out hard I'd be completely different. I even played tennis for 6 years and i was kinda good but due to like said addiction my stamina wasnt up to point but yeah gotta keep growing no matter your age.

@@LPrulezhard yeah similar situation here and lool I played tennis too and really liked it. A part of me dreamed of playing in wimbledon as an early teen like 13 to 16, but I had a defeatist mindset and growing p addiction too. Try a festival like Burning Man, Shambhala, Coachella, or EDC first before you write them off. Try Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan as well. Most of these festivals are hot women in lingerie or bikinis, and really positive, creative people into psychedelics. But yes, being moderately wealthy so you can host your own house parties by your hot tub / pool and outdoor patios is the best. Having a decent boat that you can load girls onto in the summer is great too.

So after hearing the 1st 5 min I have to agree I'm feeling lazy and demotivated (maybe due to relapsing multiple times in the past week). Right now I feel like I have to push myself really hard to do something, even when I sleep 8 hours I'd still snooze my clock daily. So today I'll work on bodyweight workouts and from tomorrow going back to the gym daily. I need to change and I have to since I don't like what I am right now and also I need to make my goals a priority and disappear from social media for a while.

I can relate to this video so much! Even as an 18 year old I never really got the point of going out there drinking, trying to feel it. And then just ending up on a random bench wasted, feeling like shit and not being able to focus on anything for the next few days. I had some stupid belief that that was supposed to be fun but I never could quite feel it. Im glad there are some people on the internet like you who actually talk about that being a problem. And that there is an other side to the idea of fun in male life.

My family has an issue with defeatism. It's very interesting because a lot of them are defeatist but a lot of us are the exact opposite. It seems to all come down to which is more of a driving force in your life, ambition or comfort. If you seek comfort because you are too scared to put yourself out there and possibly crash and burn than you need a good excuse so you don't end up regretting yourself down the road. "Well I couldn't have become X anyway because of Y, so its a good thing I just laid low and got by because the deck was stacked against me anyway".

44:13 well if more people "did good" for themself, then that balcony would be full of people, just like that pool picture you showed earlier. I agree with what you are saying, but setting more realistic goals is important. I too never enjoyed getting drunk, festivals or big parties and i do live a minimalist lifestyle. But you need to set goals that are achievable and then work your way up to your personal maximum potential. I like how your channel is growing, i started watching while you had about seven thousand subscribers and you are now at almost 35k !

goal setting should be like this ----- set small goals/daily habits ---- set a bigger goal which you'll accomplish (something thats likely to happen) within 3 months of consistently doing that daily habit ie workout everyday and eat a particular healthy diet is thedaily habit getting your bf% lower and gaining some muslce (like based on a picture reference or a weight reference) would be the bigger goal within the 3 months or wtv period of time

For real, I have commented this so often on this channel already, but I need to say it again, you are so F*CKING MOTIVATIONAL! I kinda think the same way, I started drinking relatively early and I stopped early as I realized that it was just stupid. I graduated this year and I‘m so glad I‘m out of school because most of my class mates only cared about drinking, f*cking and doing drugs. At the same time I focused on improving myself and I couldn’t stand being around these unmotivated peole without any ambitions. I see them getting deunk on holidays and spending useless time with friends while I gor myself a job, workout regularly and work on my KZbin channel and brand. You really need to get out of this environment, if that’s not your energy then cut them all put, they will ruin your drive and demotivate you

I'm only finding this video now but it really has helped me open my eyes, I've always thought that I've had a mental maturity over my peers and thought things like clubbing and drugs are just a waste of time and money, what I don't have however is a role model or any sort of higher life direction to look towards since I was raised in a relatively low-quality family in a low-quality town around low-quality people. I love my family but I'm now 20 and even though I've been progressively building my own success, I never knew what to do with it. Funnily around the time, you said "There are probably people clicking off because I am giving so many examples", I was thinking "Keep going". Thanks a lot for this video, you've earned my sub.
