As I am leaving Arkana, I reflect back on the journey I have been on, and what has changed within me during this ayahuasca retreat in the Amazon jungle.
Did I manage to put my demons to rest? Was it all worth it? What comes next as I continue down the path laid out before me?
During this retreat I did 4 ayahuasca ceremonies, 1 Kambo frog poison ceremony, and one liquid hapè ceremony.

It is truly wonderful to hear about the benefits and achievements from your journey and your deep appreciation of the skill from Arkana that plainly helped you process and let go of deeply held issues from the past. However you are so fortuitous to be of a tiny minority on the planet to have such guidance so in the describing of the comparison to other facilitators in other counties who perhaps do not have so much experience or heritage is slightly ungenerous. There are many of us who are don't have any opportunity to go to South America but even though we don't participate in an ideal way we still know we are lucky to get to sit with the medicine at all. We are indeed grateful to all the facilitators who are in this space, even though perhaps not as skilled as Arkana, but we trust the medicine and this is the only way we know to move forward, and it does work, thank god for them.

I think you are misunderstanding me Janet because I am not saying that going to South America is the only proper way to take these substances. This should be obvious as I post videos quite frequently showing what I get up to in my own home, so I have not advocating for "South America or nothing" approach to psychedelics. Rather what I was saying is that there is a level of expertise in these places which make them worthy of partaking in, and that we should not be so arrogant as to claim (which many do) that there is nothing of value in such traditions, and that anyone who has a few psychedelic experiences under ones belt is basically a shaman.

Hi friend! How much costs a retreat at Arkana? I was already twice in Iquitos, in 2017 and again 4 months later in 2018. It was at Gaia Tree and the Healers were amazing. As I heard about, staff has completely been exchanged and I can't imagine going to a known house with unknown people. So I decided to find a completely new place. Thanks for you time

Thank you so much for sharing! I've recently booked a 2 week retreat at arkana in the amazon. I am extremely nervous and excited. In your opinion do you think 2 weeks will be to much for my first retreat?
@AdeptusPsychonautica
@AdeptusPsychonautica 2 жыл бұрын
I couldn't offer an opinion without understanding more about your personal reasons and motivations for undertaking such a trip. As a simple rule then the deeper the issue you are trying to resolve then the longer the stay that is required to resolve it. Also there is the possibility that you might get out there and absolutely hate it, in which case you have two weeks to suffer through. So really the question goes back to you - is two weeks too much for your first retreat? I guess you will find out 🙂

I’m looking into the info of the retreat, and I’m somewhat confused about the ‘2 week quarantaine upon arrival’ -> does this mean you need to be there 14 days before the retreat starts?
@AdeptusPsychonautica
@AdeptusPsychonautica 2 жыл бұрын
That wasn't the case when I was there at the end of August. Upon arrival in Lima I presented my negative test at the airport and was then free to enter the country and move around. Of course things are changing all the time with the pandemic so best to check for yourself what the current regulations are.

Question. Is vaping dmt healing like when i drinking ayahuasca?
@AdeptusPsychonautica

I would say overall no. Ayahuasca is more healing, vaped DMT is more extraordinary. Thats simply my opinion, try both and find out for yourself

What is liquid hape? Haven't come across that term yet
@AdeptusPsychonautica
@AdeptusPsychonautica 2 жыл бұрын
Its a type of medicine where instead of making hape powder they brew it into a liquid, and then you take it by lying on your back while the shaman fills a table spoon, and then pours it up your nose so it almost immediately runs into the back of your nasal passages and down the back of your mouth. It has an almost intense menthol feel to it, its a pretty weird sensation, but afterwards your airways feel very clean and open.

I have wanted to do this for a couple of years. Would you consider it safe enough for those with heart conditions and high blood pressure?
@AdeptusPsychonautica
@AdeptusPsychonautica 2 жыл бұрын
I personally am not qualified to provide that kind of advice. Ayahuasca can cause an increase in heart rate or sometimes induce panic, so there could be some risks there. The best thing to do would be to speak to one of the centers and ask their advice. Arkana is the center I visited here and I'm sure they will be happy to discuss it with you - www.arkanainternational.com/
