Arturia efx Fragments has the 'Transient' and 'Grid' quantization options which help this plugin to be the most rhythmic and beat locked granular plugins out there. It helps make sure grains lock in on those important rhythmic parts of the source material. That's probably the thing that differentiates this from most any other granular plugin out there.

Was going to drop by and say this too. The plugin has tons of functionality and takes some experimentation to really unleash its potential. I watched Arturia's tutorial on it as well which brings up a lot of good points and explains a lot of the functions in great detail to better understand what you're changing.

Id recommend getting into vcv rack and building your own setups to achieve what portal and fragments provide. much better results with much more versatility.

clouds and all the other stuff in vcv is great but there's appeal to have everything set up for you. and vcv is one of the most cpu-hungry plugins out there, due to all inputs supporting audio-rate modulation.

@@Tennisers Yeah i would recommend taking the approach of setting up a dedicated setup within it. I have custom made a setup that works well for my personal use which just loads up within my custom template for my daw. so its always ready to go. for VCV I always use it the same way id use eurorack hardware and print it to a track. so CPU is a non issue.
