I got involved with the house from almost the beginning & it’s been awesome being a part of the restoration. We recreated the kitchen cabinets and front door to replicate the movie. It’s been a blast to meet Tommy, Ralph, Darren and tons others. So proud to be a part of this BADASS museum. Come to Tulsa and see it! Open the fridge and the chocolate cake and Budweiser will be in there waiting for Two-Bit.

This seriously is probably the best video you’ve done .. The outsiders was one the first books that I really even got into when I was little..Think I was in the 6th grade when I read it and watched the movie ... I always loved that era in time anyways THANK YOU 😊 and yassssss Scott you’re #KillinIt 😆👊🏻❤️

I read it in the 6th grade too. For me that was 30 years ago. 😆 Yes, I'm old AF. We read the book then watched the movie.

My ABSOLUTE favourite book, read it in grade 8, and movie. Ponyboy and his best friend Johnny (end of book/movie always gets me), Soda Pop, Darry, Dallas, love love love The Outsiders! It came out the year my sister was born, 1983. I wasn't even in kindergarten yet, so didn't see it til 10 yrs after when we read it in school. And my dad loves this movie also. To Kill a Mockingbird is another great book and movie from elementary school for me. LOL, we do have speed humps in Canada. They have them in front of the Gale Center (4 pad arena) in Niagara Falls. Speed bumps are higher raised and shorter, speed humps are lower but longer. I'm with ya on the giant high schools and football fields. They always grab my attention. Even the ones in Toronto compared to ours in Niagara. My high school have 1000 kids. My kids go there and now enrollment is around 13-1400. And that's big for here. We have schools for every little area. I have 3 elementary schools (2 public, 1 Catholic) within 3 mins drive of me.

Glad to hear those trains still sound like they did in the movie (9:15) I saw this in the theatre in the 80s and loved it! Another great video Scott! Thanks for the memories : ) Fun fact :Johnny Cades switchblade was a German model called a "shellpuller" The cross guard fit perfectly around shotgun shells to remove from the barrel after use ; )

Hi Scotty. Still moving along with you. Didn’t see the movie but enjoyed watching the video. Learnt a few things about the movie just by listening to you and seeing the locations ( with the inserts of the movie put in by you). When you talked about the memories of your Dad you struck a chord and it took me straight to the memory of my Dad. I used to make him go to the movies with me (no videos at that time) and he loved it, at least that’s what he said to me. One of his sayings to me was “ I am always happy in your happiness” I am sure the same is with you. Also wanted to ask you to do a video on Elvis about him receiving the Medal of Freedom. No one from his family were there for the presentation. However I felt all his fans were there in spirit. He was not only the King of Rock and Roll but the King of Hearts in my opinion. Thanks for listening to me. Take care✌🏼

I applaud you Scottie👋 My best and oldest friend saw " THE OUTSIDERS " 127 times the movie theater workers decided to sign our Levi jeans for proof of us seeing it with the date! Pretty soon other patrons coming to watch it heard about us two goofy girls and our crushes on C. Thomas Howell and Ralph Macchio and signed the next pair as the jeans were all filled up! We learned the lines by heart and did a skit in Jr high. As my uncle Wolfe was a stone mason back in the day 70's 80's 90's C. Thomas Howell's Dad had a home on red mountain in Aspen, Colorado and by pure chance we got to meet C.Thomas Howell. Told him the story he couldn't believe how big of fan's we were! He asked if we kept the jeans so he could sign them, we didn't bring them as we had no idea in our lifetime. We would ever meet him. We will NEVER EVER FORGET THAT DAY AS LONG AS WE LIVED!!!! I then went to Comic Con in Denver 2014 and met Ralph Macchio he signed a picture of him as Johnny Cade And signed STAY GOLD! I have it. Literally was in tears as I got a Hug and picture. His son Daniel was there so amazing🍁

This is really awesome! Perfect start to my Thanksgiving morning. I knew that last location would be the drive in which I think is great. I also love how you did The Ropers joke. Your memory isn't that bad 7th grade and 17 you got the Lucky 7 in there so you're doing fine. I don't know if that's why but I think it's a pavilion..not a gazebo. Hahaha. I can't believe about the weird guy I just thank God that you're doing okay. You got to be safe. I also love how you mention the big football fields behind high schools here in America. And not so prevalent in Canada. I like learning all that kind of stuff. But the best part of this I think is that you have a great memory of your father. There's nothing better than that. Thanks again young man! Be safe out there! Thanks again!!
@SCOTTONTAPE6 жыл бұрын
Alexander Patrick hey Alexander happy thanksgiving! Did you know that here in Canada we celebrate thanksgiving the second Monday of October ? ABC it celebrates the harvest and goes back all the way to like 1578 when an English settler came to Canada (waaaayyyy before it was known as Canada )and he and his shipmates had a feast on land to celebrate arriving. That’s part of the story . There’s other elements to it but otherwise we celebrate it the same way Americans do (although our parades aren’t as big and usually it’s a hockey game on tv) . And you’re right that’s definitely a pavilion lol😂😂. I should have said “comfortable in the pavilion “ that’s just as funny to me. And I’m telling you the dude I talked to was absolutely crazy and a little scary but if he had let me film him I would have done a separate video on him and it would go viral. A giant shirtless preacher yelling the gospel at me while ranting about secret government messages and phones stealing our souls. It was awesome! Thank you so much for the kind words and my late father is a big influence on what I do. He passed away too young but he instilled in me a love of people, pop culture, and taught me to treat others the way one would want to be treated. I miss him everyday . So tell me about yourself . What do you do down in Ocala? Do you have a family? Are there alligators in your backyard ? My friend is Leesburgh sees gators all the time outside his house. Now THAT is crazy . I believe my first video I uploaded on here was when him and I went into the swamps looking for gators and found one. Anyway, looking forward to hearing back from you!
@alexanderpatrick48666 жыл бұрын
@@SCOTTONTAPE lol..... the video on that guy definitely would have went viral! I'm here in Ocala because both of my parents were ill and I had lost my job back in my hometown which was in Syracuse New York. Syracuse is a smaller City in the middle of New York state that a lot of people have never heard of. I stayed down here to take care of them unfortunately my father passed away but my mother got better. The good in the bad! That's what life is. You and I have something in common in that we both had wonderful fathers who taught us to be good to others and that's the most important thing any of us could ever learn. I was able to come down because I lost the job and was having a tough time finding work. Once my father had passed I decided to finish my bachelor's degree here at the College of Central Florida. Unfortunately during that time I was working a job at a paint store and injured myself and I've had two surgeries and it's been one year of physical therapy. That's okay I am doing fine. And I must admit that your videos help me get through this because I think you're awesome. The videos are great and your personality makes me smile all the time. I don't have my own family but maybe someday who knows. There are no alligators in my backyard but there were plenty of coywolves and raccoons. All the development in Florida is destroying the homes of these poor animals. Once again thanks for all your videos and keep them coming and remember..... Be safe be safe be safe! Thanks again!!

I also love how they have the house saved and the street signs dedicated to them! Miss the fountain in the park, and ending it with the drive-in was awesome! Thank you thank thank you! I did the book for my English exams. Brilliant film with so many famous actors and actresses, I’ve seen it over 20 times. I used to have Matt Dillon pictures on my wall in my teenage years. Well done Scott, you tell it so well. I’m glad that they made a museum out of it. Thank you xxxx

I heard you mentioning several times about the wind. You're lucky it wasn't really windy that day. Oklahoma has a lot of wind. You might want to look at a lapel mic with a muff on the end. You'll be surprised how much it cancels out the wind. If you have a headphone jack it's literally a $10 piece of equipment. If you don't you'll have to get a wireless one and it will be more. Well worth the money though.

I remember when 'the Outsiders' movie was originally released in theatres in Canada in late March of 1983. Albeit the movie was relatively popular at that time, other movies eclipsed its box office draw like 'High Road to China', 'Spring Break', 'Blue Thunder' and later 'Flashdance'. In my late teenage life at the time it simply didn't appeal to me as a show I wanted to take a girl to see. That said, 'the Outsiders' gained a certain cult-status years after its initial release. While it was largely a forgotten B-movie through the 80s and most of the 90s, in the early 00's it became a status example of the new-Hollywood Brat-Pack as they were considered together in this one-time movie of the early 80's. Check out the 2005 redux version of 'the Outsiders' which is alleged to include an additional 22 minutes of intended storyline that was part of the original novel.

Hey Scott, love your vids! You got the wrong spot for Dally's death scene though. It's on a different corner of the park.

Cool video bro. You know what other movie sofia coppola was in with Matt Dillon?, Rumble fish! She played the kid sister of Matt's girlfriend Diane Lane! Would be good to see you do the filming locations of that awesome cult movie too! It was also filmed in Oklahoma
