My sunjoe broke on me as well this fall overseed. The motor or whatever powers the spinning motion of the scarifier broke. And it was like 10% of the way done. Had to hand dethatch the whole thing because I had already rented an aerator for 24 hours. Everything got done but man I felt like I got hit by a train once it was all done. Then 2 days later by the grace of God, my area dodged heavy rainfall. Everywhere else north and south got it within a 50 mile radius. I feel your pain.

Hello, I live in SE North Dakota. I do realize that a better time to put down seed would have been August 15th but I have a project in my back lawn where some trees were removed and the soil tilled up. I am just now to the point of having everything cleaned up and leveled. My plan is to throw down seen tonight (August 27, 2024) will I be OK this late in the season to get grass established before the first frost? I have purchased some of your Perennial Ryegrass and KBG blend. (Hat trick and Fireball) Should I wait till next year or throw down and see what happens?

7 days ago I spread compost on my lawn in the Asheville NC area and overseeded it with Turf type tall fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass seeds. I’ve been watering it frequently and lightly to keep the seeds moist. Now I’m noticing 3 to 5 inch white circles on the compost. I think it is actinomycetes from the compost. Is this something I should be concerned about hurting my lawn? Should I treat it with fungicide(s)? If so which fungicides? I've just changed my watering to less run time and also the last run time of the day has been moved to earlier in the day so it won't be so wet all night. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Wow. Sorry that you had to deal with that, but you are a pro and will bounce back from that. I just went outside to remove a few big stones from my front garden, which I plan to make part of the lawn, but it felt like hell. We received a heat wave warning in Dakota County and surrounding areas, but I did not think it was going to be very bad. It feels like 95 degrees F now. How are you doing overseeding today? The temps must have been down at your place. I have been watching all of your previous overseeding videos to get ready for my first overseeding. This is the result of your obsession. You knew the grass was wet from the beginning, but you've tried to mow it anyway, when you know you can't cut wet grass because it will clog the lawnmower and the blades. You've brought these issues on yourself because, if you would have waited later on in the day when the grass has dried, you would not had those problems. Besides, 8:30 in the morning is way too early to be cutting grass anyway, because you could be disturbing your neighbors. Everybody is not an early bird! 10:30 to 11:00 am is early enough to start doing lawn work, especially if you're cutting the grass and using other loud equipment.
