Great video brother! You guys got some AMAZING results. I'm a detailer out here in So.Cal. I LOVE Yvan and his Educational Videos. Man definitely KNOWS whats he's doing. I wanted to get your opinion on pads. I will most likely get the Jewling pad in my arsenal of pads for sure! Have you have much experience with Meguiar's microfiber cutting pad, I use the 5 inch pad with Milwaukee cordless DA same as Yvan and I have the Rotary as well. But the DA is my default. I get Really Good results from this pad and my DA, but I wanted to get input from another professional detailer about that pad in comparison to the Diy jewling pad. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thank you. Sure glad I can help. Okay so as for the Meguiars cutting pad it’s one of the staples in the industry. But like it’s says cutting. It’s cuts extremely well but the jeweling pad is meant to just shine the paint not really remove defects . It’ll give that max extra gloss on the paint when following up after your cutting stage as the Meguiars cutting pad it’s microfiber leaves a tad bit of hazing. Hopefully this answer your question 2 completely different pads for different tasks. Watch my how to choose the right pad video I did on a mini cooper about 2-3 months ago. There you’ll be able to see the three different pad demonstration 💪

@@DetailingMadeSimple wow awesome man. Thanks for the reply......Yes......you do make a good point there.....I Agree. "Cutting Pad".....and "Jewling Pad" I will definitely check out that Video you recommended. My only thing is......daaamn....it takes hours to polish a whole vehicle...and to do it Twice...is sooo much time....what pad would you recommend that is between the two......a cut and finish?.. My initial thought would be like a medium polishing pad...I guess also it depends on the car How Much "correction" is needed...every scenario is gonna be diffilerent. I have a Ford 250 I'm going to paint correct. I just don't really want to spend 10+hours doing a 2 step paint correction. Any tips brother?
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 7 ай бұрын
@@johnboy5632 yes like you said all scenarios are different. The in between will be the gold standard Polish the yellow one from DIY, The yellow pad from rupes, Lake country orange pad. Those are like the in between get the job done in one step depending how severe the defect are. If it’s not a black ford 250. Wool cuts and finishes a lot nicer than a microfiber pad. Which depending if the clear coat is more on the harder side you can do that in one step. It’s just dialing in on what pad is best for the scenario and how you can achieve the best results in one step. All paints are different

I want to get a rotary, have you tried the Milwaukee rotary? I have all Milwaukee tools and figured it’s decent since I see Ivan using in some videos. Anyway you guys are killing it. Keep it up 👍

Hey Dini the Milwaukee rotary for me it’s okay it’s 800rpm for speed one which is a bit too much for my liking Yvan and Sylvie are amazing with the rotary they were showing me and teaching me with the Milwaukee. But it’s all preference and what you prefer to use. Yvan stated in his videos he uses the Milwaukee because it’s cordless for the videos but he often always use the flex corded rotary. The Milwaukee cordless rotary is a bit heavy too. I appreciate you watching as always 💪

DIY Detail pads are not available in my area and it does not get delivered here. So can i use Rupes yellow waffle pad(Fine) for compounding and the white waffle pad(ultra fine) for polishing with a Rotary after wet sanding with 3000 grit. I am planning to use meguirs m105 and m205. Please guide.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 4 ай бұрын
Hey. Yes you can that'll work fine. The yellow waffle pad from rules is softer than the yellow waffle pad from DIY. It can still work. You can use whatever polish you desire there will be no effect to the results. You're good to go my brother 💪. If you have a DA you can use the DA to cut the 3k grit and finish with the rotary for that high gloss finish. That way you're not chasing the holograms left on the compounding stage with the rotary. Hope this helps

does this waffle pad leaves holograms when I'm using rotary ?
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 9 ай бұрын
Great question. No matter how soft the pad is you can leave holograms with a rotary. Even on the slowest speed if using the rotary incorrectly to finish. I am making a video about this should be out later this week! There I will go all in about the details 👍 Here are examples of why you are getting holograms. 1. not keep the pad flat. 2. Using a dry polishing pad instead of a damp pad. 3. Paint getting hot and over working the polish 4. holding it at an angle 5. applying pressure! Also the most important part. Is getting a rotary you think you’ll like to use can be whatever brand. Preferable I like Flex or rupes corded rotaries as they are balanced. A budget friendly one I have tried is chemical guys torque R but based on the specifications is ideally what you’re looking for as well! The main thing you are looking for is a rotary that’s speed 1 is anywhere between 450-800rpm the higher the rpm the quicker the arm movements. Also the highest speed being around 2100 is ideal if using with a pad washer to ring out most of the water when cleaning by section. I hope this helps slightly but in the video being released I will have examples 👍

So why does the title say, "The pad that "KILLED Rupes"????
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 6 ай бұрын
As for the title that was meant as it’s the best finishing pad for rotary. Rupes came out again with their rotary pads and for me not that great in my opinion . To me it’s better than their DA finishing pad as well.

@DetailingMadeSimple Are you saying you don't like their new Waffle Pads for Rotary? I would like to know why you say that because I am looking for some great waffle pads.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 6 ай бұрын
@@btbd2785 yes I don’t like their rotary waffle pads. I don’t prefer hard foam for rotary when polishing so the blue is out of question. The yellow one is decent but don’t like the density for it as well as the thickness/profile of the pads finishing with that and the white one is very finicky especially on GM paints. This video I go through all my favorite pads even for rotary as well in detail. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fV68fK2VZrWNm68si=JKB5brjTyw8VP5K8

So Ivan gave you a gift and you're supposed to be objective in their review. If you praise this gift you will get more gifts from Ivan .if you trash this, you will not get any more gifts from Ivan . so how are you supposed to be biased.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 5 ай бұрын
So that's what you deciphered from the entire video? Amazing!! Just for context I purchased these final waffle pads my self. The only gift that was given in a way that it wasn't gift per se. I went to his rotary training class. He happened to receive these pads second day of training which were the proto types still. We were unable to finish on this soft repainted panel with the rotary. We used the rupes rotary pads and lake country waffle pads nothing. We swapped to these and it finished down perfect no haze. So I paid for the training, paid money for a flight . I detailed learned more as a business and let me go home with a couple of the prototype pads. The final ones I paid for myself. Just phenomenal how you came to that conclusion on the entire video.
