Some of the beautiful attributes of God would not be known by us if it had not been for our falling into sin. God allowed sin to enter the world to show His long-suffering, mercy and forgiveness, which we would have never known either wise. Would you have known God's mercy apart from suffering? Forgiveness apart from transgressions? Long-suffering apart from our rebellion? God's almighty love apart from Christ coming into this world to be for us all that He is? He wipes away our tears, heals our broken hearts, comforts our afflicted souls, and delivers us from the destruction of sin. Tell me then you who say, "why did God permit sin to enter His world if He is good, or if God is love, why did He allow suffering?" How else could we know God's great love had it not been for all these things for which we suffer??

$450,000 pipe organ for the church? No, that was not God’s will. Help God’s creations, don’t build resort churches. A church doesn’t need to be pretty or large to be effective.

That's how much organs cost. Any beautiful church in Europe with a historic organ would be impossible to even build today financially - even without the organ, actually. For some it's not a priority; for others it is. If you fill the world with a Christianity that has cheap popular-sounding music, there are souls (like many in my atheistic field of classical music) who simply will not be reached - they can't hear the cheapened praise and worship songs of this generation as anything but disingenuous and therefore discard Christianity along those lines.

i don't agree with John Piper, i see that a university profesor can witness a holocaust and still in his heart still not recognise that this is evil. We have the proof of the holocaust of aborted babies every year and still people do not agree that those are even people. the sinfulness of the human heart can be so big that they can never recognise evil when ot hits them in the face

He did preface the university professor bit with, "God has ordained, in his mercy, *that sometimes* very unbelieving people wake up to his reality because of pain, not because of his absence." (emphasis in bold, mine) I was privileged to be present in the room as he gave the first of these two talks on the day in 2015 and recorded it on my phone. It was a profound sermon and met my needs at the time, going through the challenges I faced. In the version on my phone, he ended this section on the university professor with, "And he knows that if the sentence that just came out of his mouth, "That's evil! Evil!" is either meaningless, welling up from electro-chemical synapses, going, beep, beep, beep, in his brain, with nothing more - or there are absolutes, and they've got to be from somewhere. And there is only one place that they can be from - God. That happens. Not as often as you'd like. But it happens. And it is good that it happens. It makes sense. It is right for it to happen." Anyway, I just thought I'd add that, as I recalled it and agree with you, (Piper too), that such clarity, of the evil of a holocaust, sadly, doesn't penetrate every hard heart. ps.
