@CarlForde3 жыл бұрын
@@Kath-Erina swansong is the final performance of a person's career. Generally, going out in a big way.
@Cyssane3 жыл бұрын
@@Kath-Erina It's based on an old idea that swans (who are normally silent) sing their first and only song right before they die. It's not true btw, swans don't do that at all. But the idea took hold and turned into a meme, basically. So the saying comes from that old, mistaken concept. It means to end something, such as a career, after a grand public performance. It's often also used ironically (as Julie's doing here), since dying of thirst after singing a song like this wouldn't exactly be a grand way to go out.

*WARNING* - This video contains adult language and topics that some viewers may find troubling - I love how it's titled as a childrens song but before you even click on it you know it probably won't be just because she made sure that the word children was in the title... loved it.

Hope you're doing better now. I discovered your channel with "explaining the pandemic to my past self," and your videos have really helped me get through this.
