Just when I was thinking about DOYLE DYKES and his "Patriotic Medley" (Pick it up at the 2:15 mark.) I have two different versions on CD -- remember those?) My 20 year old Camry has a CD player on which I was just listening to Doyle's unrivalled (for me) Patriotic Medley. I literally sit down at the computer, and the intuitive genius that is KZbin late 2024, sends this my way: As I like to joke, with fellow Christians including Mr. Dykes, "What a coincidence!" Pick it up at the 1:58 mark. Here he's playing an early favorite of his many guitars -- a 1962 Guild Starfire. I told Doyle that I had the same bodied instrument, a Guild Slim Jim "minus the Bigsby tremolo tailpiece, in tobacco sunburst finish." Completely made over perfect -- for 15 hundred Canadian dollars less than a thousand, American. I gifted it to my oldest (27-year-old) grandson, Thomas Blackburn: A much better guitarist that his old Grumpa Mark ever was! Thanks for sharing Doyle Dykes! Mark B of the frozen North

Doyle, fantastic playing. Funny you should mention Harvey's Barber Shop. I grew up down the street from there and my father was Harvey's barber partner for many years . Harvey was a great guitar teacher and could really play that 6120. I remember taking weekly evening guitar lessons from Harvey at that shop and I would usually follow after your time slot. I had a 1965 SG Standard and still play it to this day. You use to mesmerize me when you would play Classical Gas, and still do today. Those were good times and I have a lot of fond memories of that barber shop. I enjoy your videos with Vintage Guitar Magazine and on your own youtube site. I subscribe to the magazine and like you , I am guitar poor, but there is always room for one more....... Mike Greenlee

Oh, and BTW, also figured I'd been without Jesus in my life so am getting baptised July 18th into the Church of Jesus Christ.... and much of that belongs to you, thanke tyo Jesus. @@doyledykesmusic - And just one more thing and to me clearly the most important and that is: The way our country's going, I figure its about time I supported our LORD, not unlike what our fore Fathers did to start these United States, which is rarely taught to any great extent in the educational system, how very sad.

Hi Doyle, Absolutely love your Patriotic Medley. Do you have the specifications of the Guild Starfire 1962 you are playing? I’m looking to buy one for myself. Would love to see your Patriotic Medley on Spotify! Much love from the Netherlands!

Hey Doyle, how long does it take you generally to learn a medley like this and how in the world do you remember it? Do you play it regularly so you don't forget or do you have an identic memory?
