Planting the knife on the guy he was scuffling with was too risky. It could have backfired fatally. Sofia's goon is a better choice. It gets him out of hot water and helps Sofia shift more towards him at the same time. That move, combined with Luca "betraying" her got him what he wanted. Sofia going for power, while trusting him to help her get it. The seeds he planted early in the episode bore fruit by the credits.

Arcane season 1 is the best tv show I’ve ever seen, full stop, and I expect season 2 will be more of the same. But animated shows are nominated largely for different awards than live action shows are. And Penguin is likely going to be in the limited series category, unlike TLOU season 2 or the bear or whatever other shows clean up in awards every year. Honestly, even if they were all in the same category, I can’t imagine what Pedro or Bella would have to do to even approach the level of acting Farrell and Milioti in particular are delivering in this show. Certainly nothing Pedro or Bella did in season 1 even begins to compare outside of maybe Pedro’s scene with Sarah in ep 1. And I’m very much the high man on TLOU in general, it’s incredible. The acting from the two leads in Penguin so far is on another level

In "The Batman," Sophia's dad, Carmine, strangled women. In this episode, the camera pans down the Falcone family crypt and I think we see her mom died in the mid-nineties. Perhaps Carmine also would choke/strangle Sophia when she was a kid. Perhaps he even had her take the fall for his murders. Or perhaps she killed them because here mom wasn't there to protect her.

Oz having the knife found with Castillo was brilliant. Giving it to Viti would've been way too obvious, blaming Castillo weakens Sofia's side and leaves a vacant place besides her that Oz can speak himself into. And treating Vic the way Oz does comes from some sort of sympathy, since they grew up in similar ways and maybe Oz thinks he can be for Vic what the mob guy he talked about in episode one was for him. On the other hand Vic is no danger to Oz, he's a puppy and Oz could just drop him whenever he has no need for him anymore, so why not being vulnerable in front of him? Oz would smell it immediatly if Vic decides to go against him. At least that's how I see it right now, I'm excited to see what this relationship will develop into.

12:52 - "She died a few years back." I was caretaker for my grandmother right out of high school. Dementia. In the beginning, it was little things. Eventually, it took more hours in a day than I could muster to keep her from walking out of the house and up and down busy highways looking for a friend who hadn't lived in the area in decades. The lucid moments all but vanish, and you're left talking to a skipping record of someone who only looks like the person they used to be. One the increasingly rare occasion when their brain can line up enough neurons, all they experience and express is confusion and fear, and then it goes away. Dementia kills the person long before their body dies. They fade to nothing shrouded in momentary bouts of agony, and everyone else around them has to internalize a funeral that won't happen for years. His mother isn't there. This is a startlingly accurate portrayal of someone with mildly progressed dementia.

I don't think the carla thing is going to come back, it seemed pretty self contained to me. Vic is killed by Oz as he's used as a pawn in one of his schemes 2. Vic ends up hardened, staying by Oz on his ascent to the top but becoming just as vicious as Oz, losing himself and his heart to the game. 3. This is the least likely one, but Vic wisens up and finds a way out, leaving this behind in pursuit of a better life. This one is just wishful thinking. I do hope this series at least addresses somewhere what Batman's role is for these mobsters. He has not been referenced once in terms of concern of being caught by him even though he helped bring down Salvatore Falcone.

i mean if crime is up 46 percent he's probably got his hands full. I imagine at the moment he'd rather not get more involved with the Falcone's out of fear of causing even more chaos than he is already dealing with. Likewise I feel the Falcone's largely put the blame on Riddler for what happened to Carmine not Batman. I doubt they really see Batman as much of an issue considering he'd never learnt about the whole conspiracy without Riddler leaving him bread crumbs and as far as we can tell wasn't exactly putting much of a dent in their operations beforehand. Interestingly an in universe Gotham newspaper given to those who went to the show's premiere mentions that Batman seemingly hasn't been seen since the Riddler attack.

Thus series is obviously setting up a very interesting scenario for The Batman 2, I think being patient and waiting for the movie will be way more satisfying then hearing about him now. He is obviously going to be focusing on honing his skills and approach considering the ending of the first movie and dealing with the guilt of an emotionally immature, green Batman. Good thing this show is great and can stand on its own

I think it's fair to say that a show like One Piece with the world that it has doesn't necessarily have to tell you that humans in this world are incredibly different. They come in a bunch of different shapes and sizes too. And to be fair, it's basically a whole different planet cause it's supposed to be like twice the size of Earth

ep 2 was quite good and im getting quite intrestined in the mafia turf war and seeing how sofia, sal, vic and oz will turn on each other in the end prediction: i think vic will die in the end, either by sofia hands (oz will frame vic for alberto death) or he will be betrayed oz because the burial scene seems like set up of vic to betray oz and him being executed, comic book refrence: johnny viti was the nephew to carmine falcone in the comics and was a victim of the holiday killer being killed in the bathtub with the gun , a rubber baby cap and a jack o.latern left at the scene "no man land" being a refrence to the batman storyline from.tje comics when a earthquake hit gotham causing massive destruction , not to.metion freeing everbody from arkham and the goverment cutting off aid rending gotham a utter mess Also the place where oz lives being called ''burgess'' is a refrence to burgess merdith whomplayed the penguin in the 66 batman show
