I think Oz keeping his mom alive isn't just because he can't live without her. I think there's an aspect of anger and revenge as well. He knows she doesn't want to live that way, but he's kind of taunting her by keeping her alive, talking to her, putting her in the penthouse, etc. I think he's punishing her for betraying him in addition to his unhealthy attachment problems.

I don't think he is punishing her. He genuinely did everything for her but in the end, it's in his own terms. He was willing to let her finger be chopped with the desire to not let her be sad. He is unable to see the danger he is posing for his loved ones

The Penguin (including this one) is actually famous for being one of the few 'sane' members of Batmans Rogues gallery. Very clearly a psychopath (displays zero emotions when killing his own brothers FFS) with an almost certain narcissistic personality disorder (and edaphus syndrome), but otherwise very sane and calculating.

I think one other detail that explains why Vic had to die was now that Frances' last words to Oz was that she hates him, the only person that she has strong affection for was Vic, as in previous episodes, she displayed an almost maternal way with him once he proved himself to her, and I think Oz saw that and he couldn't live with the idea that his vegetative mother only loves Vic now and not him.

Crazy how the I.D in the water symbolizes to me at least the way Oz's bros died and Vics parents. And the water basically erases Vic, because the I.D was the last way to identify him. His family is gone and now Vic is a John Doe. But honestly, I have a weird feeling he might not be dead. (slim chance)

Y'know what i just realized. When Oz's mother refers to him as 'the devil' it's never more true in that there's no bargaining with the devil. When he locked his brother's in the storm drain they begged and pleaded but it changed nothing, when he lit the Maroni's on fire they begged and pleaded but it changed nothing. When his mother was about to get her finger cut off she begged and pleaded but it changed nothing and finally when he strangled Victor he begged and pleaded but it changed nothing. Once you make a faustian bargain your soul is damned and there's nothing you can do and nowhere you can go that will change that. He always smiles while he does it like satan would collecting another soul. I'm an atheist personally but the analogy is such a spookily perfect one.

THE PENGUIN was terrific! Every episode was top-notch, the cast gave incredible performances, and it felt connected to THE BATMAN. Like in The Batman, Gotham was more than just a place; it felt like a character-and it played a prominent role here. My only critique is that I wish we caught a glimpse of Batman here and there. Think the ghost Easter eggs from The Haunting of Hill House, only with Batman, or perhaps the Batmobile parked down an alley, etc.

& have little hints and Easter eggs etc throughout the second film but save the Court of Owls for the third. It’d be dope if they can re contextualise stuff from across the films and shows that demonstrate the court of owls being behind it all, but we don’t know until the third film after we’ve seen the 2 films, the penguin and another season or something. Then reveal and tie it all back in at that point showing their hand on the strings the whole time. I love the line Christoph Walz has in Spectre when he says “it’s me James, the Author of all your pain” Have something like that for the court of Owls, but do Prof Pyg in a really twisted way for the 2nd. They could even somehow reveal that the owls were blackmail Thomas Wayne for helping out Falconè all those years ago, and then eventually having them killed once he decided to consider running for mayor and ignoring the blackmail or something along those lines. As long as it’s written well enough to make sense and work then that’d be dope. That’s mine thoughts anyhow. It’s savage that we have to wait till Oct 2026 for Robat BatinsBat to return though.

I think you could have a Mr Freeze or a clayface in part 2. Just like Victor (and maybe Oz has a reaction to the name) he manipulates Mr Freeze to get what he wants and becomes Penguin's enforcers in the movie. Maybe Freeze in this universe has a vendetta against Wayne Enterprises instead of Gothcorp.

If they do Mr. Freeze as speculated, I can see him collecting people that have slighted him somehow and leaving them out overnight to effectively freeze to death. It would be , no pun intended, cold for him to do, and be on a similar moral absence to Oz. The Deameanor and weather would be the only thing I can think of to make him close to the comics but more grounded. Perhaps using liquid nitrogen as a weapon or having a blood condition where like in Prey, makes him have a lower body temperature than the average person, but able to function just as normal either with some kind of technology or meds that keep him from being killed from it while keeping a "cold" attitude on things. and maybe there's a wife element.

The way Eve looked in his mom's dress at the end was very appropriately creepy. RIP Vic 😢 Also, with her surname being Karlo, and the whole scene where Sofia saw all the wigs and costumes and... make-up in Eve's apartment and talked to her about all the different roles she plays, I could see them using her as a gender swapped version of Clayface. Idk how well that would play out, but it would be interesting to see what happened.
