This is why Geek Buddies is so good. Michael is the first person I have seen talk about the Sofia and Penguin being inside the house scene in that way. And I actually agree with his perspective now.

Sophia observing the 'new jacket' and even complimenting it was something I keyed into, instantly. There was a world where the two of them rose together through the ranks. If Sophia had earnestly confided to Oz and they had worked together from the beginning, they could have stayed quiet for awhile, planted some seeds, assumed some power here and there, and maybe outed Carmine down the road more effectively. We'll never know, but I now really love Sophia as a character and feel like I'm going to be sad no matter who comes out on top; I don't want to see Sophia disappear from this universe.

Rocha, she knew he was criminal and knew what business she was supposedly gonna take over. She's a part of a crime family, bro, she knows the context lol. Not sure they need magpie to spy on her, though. She's in a very visible cell under lock and key all day with her moves being tightly guarded and heavily chaperoned. Plus, Magpie doesn't strike me as a fountain of reliability lol. Could be wrong but idk.
@Coffeewiththegods3 ай бұрын
@@doc8013 it wasn’t really spying in a watching sense though. It was more like reconnaissance. Seeing if she spoke about anything. I doubt a season 2 is coming for two reasons: 1) Penguin seemed to be set to be the main bad guy in Batman 2 (kinda thought a bunch of the gangster stuff in the first one could been saved for the sequel, leaving it to Riddler, saving the sequel for the sequel series we're getting, which is fine...at least Reeves et al get to keep playing in the same sandbox, now that Gunn's is the honcho), but I doubt that's happening anymore, because; 2) Colin Farrell, while he loves the character, has expressed he HATES getting in that latex suit and make-up, all-the-same-every-day, so it might take him a good while to get the taste up again. Dude clearly loves the character -- the was one of the major pushing forces behind getting it doing (behind all the make-upFX, TRULY creating the character, etc.). All of which it to say it made take time. Sidenote: Do you think it breaks his heart that Brendan Gleeson had to cut his cut fingers out because Colin is in the better Batman-related projected? (Deep cut...I'm also far to drunk for this)

Fantastic episode. They've done a masterful job with the character of Sophia Falcone. We've been afraid of her since she first showed up and, for me at least, and it's really amazing that they've, basically, now made her a protagonist in her own right. She was a baby villain in the flashbacks, but it seems like her treatment by the larger family and the prison system has turned her into a legit MONSTER. But, somehow, I now have more empathy for her than I do for Oz. For anyone watching, this is how you comment on gender, the failures of the mental health and justice systems, etc. etc. I still wonder if we're going to find out more about the Hangman situation, as well. I feel like there's a chance we're going to find out Oz killed these women and was playing the long-con for years. We already know that he has close relationships with 'working' girls in the clubs and that he can explode violently if someone hurts his feelings. But Oz also doesn't seem like the 'prostitute murderer' type to me, either, so we'll see... Great episode of the Penguin, great episode of the Geek Buddies. Much love.

Really? I literally turned to my housemate at the end of the family dinner scene and said 'Save the kid, kill the rest' - and then we see Sofia leading Gia to _safety_ She sees herself in that little girl, she wants to protect her (in her own twisted way)
@JohnRochaSays3 ай бұрын
Would you trust your kid with a mentally unstable person like Sofia who just killed Gia's mom for the crime of (looks up the facts) writing a letter under threat from Carmine Falcone??? Not to mention that she wants to start a drug empire selling drugs to other peoples daughters and turning them into addicts. You certainly have a very looooose definition of "safety".
@jollyrayda3 ай бұрын
@@JohnRochaSays I'm not saying she _is_ safe, I'm saying that in _Sofia's head_ she's saving an innocent like she was (and wanted someone to do for her). That's all I meant by saying that is seemed pretty damn obvious to me what Sofia was going to do after the dinner scene. Do I think Gia's safe? F*** no! Sofia is now well and truly a lunatic. Hell, was Gia ever going to be safe in the Falcone family? Probably not, it wasn't a good scene for girls (as Sofia pointed out earlier). I love this show, I think the writing is phenomenal, and the ability to make us feel sympathy for people who are objectively doing horrible things is a real skill. Didn't mean to offend with the comment, just my reaction to the talk about Sofia's intentions. I really like watching y'all react to things, I just sometimes think about things a little different - and that's not a bad thing! Hope you have a good day sir, apologies for annoying you.

I disagree with Vogel. From the time she flicked the cigarette out the window through the whole thing with Gia, I was waiting for the house to go up in flames or explode. It was a surprise when it was the carbon monoxide or whatever that killed everyone. (Though as a chemist, I noted the gas mask won't help if the house is full of carbon monoxide; she'd need an oxygen tank)
