The A14 with Strix Point has an option for 32GB. It's the one I got because the prices for Strix Point laptops with a higher tier GPU make absolutely no sense in Europe right now. I'm not too happy about the keyboard layout I have (I use a French keyboard), but otherwise, it's surprisingly okay for an ASUS laptop, especially once you remove all of the ASUS bloat and just use G-helper to manage everything else, which is an insanely good piece of community software that replaces Armoury Crate.
@supremacy982 ай бұрын
In my country, the TUF A14 is about 6-7% cheaper, where basically the 4060 model of the A14 is equal in price of the 4050 model of G14. At that point, I'd rather spend a little more to get the G14 (which is what I did as at that point there was an IT show with significant discount and the A14 was not out yet). I would be a lot more excited if Asus was able to cut costs further to drop the price more than $300-400USD by having a lower resolution 1200p more budget IPS panel. I would also be fine with more plastic build but still slim and light laptop if it is so much cheaper, I see no point not going for the G14. It has similar AMD CPU and same nvidia GPU, arguably slightly worse screen, similar build quality, just for a slight discount

NOT the best deal on the market. Stronger competition. Memory: the 370 processor only allows soldered on ram. And 32 gb is possibly the most perfect amount today. But without being expandable, I'd argue that only 64 gb is viable. That will of course depend on how long you keep laptops, and your use case. But for me, 32 gb is greatly decreasing the useful life. GPD DUO A month ago, sure, this Asus possibly be best* but it no longer is. For the right use case, you could argue the Asus is still better. But for so many more use cases, the GPD. Twice the memory, making it long term viable. Equivalent storage the the version i'm talking about, but you can pay more for up to 8TB, plus an open full sized m.2. Far better displays: lower 60 hz refreshrate, far more color accurate, touch and draw/stylus touch screen featuring high pressure sensitivity, folds all the way back to tablet mode, and there's two of them (dual monitors, one that has input to display from another device, and the smartest implimentation of 2 monitors I've seen, with some trade offs but overall better). Better battery. Better out of the box tuning. More premium materials (though I dislike what most reviewers call premium. aluminum is premium but in a laptop I dislike this. plastic is better because it doesnt' transfer laptop heat to your hands as much, so i prefer the Asus plastic, but most people would call the GPD more premium). Better trackpad. Better speakers. Unknown which has better keyboard but the GPD teardown does show reinforcement to stop middle laptop keyboard flex. Increadibly great user controled bios settings that I haven't seen from big name laptop companies. Perfect power to performance tuning (stopping just before the dropoff curve where you have to use a lot more power/heat for very minor performance gains). No heavy bloatware, with their trackpad and monitor gimicks working with native windows. They've also confirmed the features to work with Linux (if you need it or not, this is great consumer friendliness). Better cooling. Far better i/o which was a bragging point in this review. Oculink. With new GPUs aggressively on the horizon it could be argued any dedicated GPU laptop is a bad buy at the moment. GPU has integrated APU graphics. Even without a dedicated GPU, over twice the 3d Mark TimeSpy performance of the steam deck. Which I'm not saying is as good, but imho plenty antiquate for mobile purposes if you can can get 99% desktop performance when not remote. Even the same desktop GPU through oculink is 33% faster (4070/4080) or 50% faster (4090) compairing mobile to standard desktop (then supers and ti's can eak out a little more). The GPD is heavier and thicker, but still less so than larger bulky gaming laptops. Which to me is less substantial than all the other improvements, but for the right niche case, I get the value. There is and indiegogo preorder for the GPD DUO, which comes in about $150 more than Asus, but with double the ram, the extra higher quality display, which covers the cost increase alone. Note this cost is figured for a purchase with tax in the U.S., as the GPU looks more, but their price includes tax/vat/customs/shipping. I assumed only tax for the Asus price comparison. But then factor in everything else. It does depend what would be useful to the individual, just that the GPD fits so many more cases. *Best comes with a HUGE asterisk. The elephant in the room. Asus. Refusing to refund defective products that were essentially destroying themselves earlier this year. After much social media backlash I think they eventually did. But it was a lot of backlash and initial responses of them refusing to do anything. And Asus's scammy RMA process. They wanted to leave consumers in the dust and out their whole product. GPD is a younger company, but a company that has been making some of the best small factor PCs and gaming PCs. If you didn't want to go the Steam Deck route, and wanted a higher power and windows variant, GPDs answer has been stronger than Asus, Lenovo, or MSi. More premium and more expensive, but equivalent bang for the buck for what it offers. And most people who didn't want the Steam Deck, and complained about no Steam Deck 2, were the ones who wanted to buy the fastest handheld. GPD just has a good recent history, and Asus has a rotten recent history.

how come 14 inch is a gaming laptop , we take 22 inch even though struggle with small dot head, and they are marketing 14 inch as a gaming laptop. We have to be practical, 16 inch somewhat manageable , but 14 inch just joking with true gamer

"Gaming laptop". Anything without a dedicated GPU is garbage for gaming or ANY kind of 3D-task. I am sorry. IF the iGPU is being used, the CPU cannot push as much. And with a GPU + CPU combo, you also (usually) get a separate cooling circuit. Yeah yeah, "gaming on a laptop" is still meh. But sometimes you just have no other choice.
