There is no need to pay all those overpriced skip the line or secret itinerary tours. Buy tickets directly. Avoid top season and go right in the morning, or before closing. Often there is no line even at the Doge s, and the regular ticket lets you visit the prison and all. Even st Marks can be booked directly for a tiny fee, not through expensive intermediaries.

A round-trip pass to visit Burano. These are all different tickets, we got with different price points. We decided to skip purchasing a 48-hour pass to walk as much as possible. If walking is not an issue, you can skip purchasing the 48-hour pass and get a 75-minute one. Something to remember, though, is that if you're following this guide, you'll walk for approximately 2 hours ( or more, depending on where you're staying and the order of your stops.) If you guys are ok with that, then walking on foot is the best way to see all of Venice :)

Thanks so much for the compliment and for watching :) Your Vaporetto ticket will take you from the airport to Venice, and no additional ticket is required. I hope somebody can answer my question. I haven't been to Italy, but I have been to London, Paris and some town in France. My impression is that Europeans don't really eat, and I had trouble finding food except for lunch and dinner time. If you are hungry in mid morning, mid afternoon or late at night, you are out of luck and out of food. You can't really find food like in Japan or Hong Kong. Is that right? I have a friend who went to Spain and she packed many instant noodles.
@WheretoNau
@WheretoNau 3 ай бұрын
@@audreyc3078 Hi Audrey, most restaurants in Italy close for siesta, which is usually between 2-5 pm. You'll find a few places open depending on where you travel to in Italy. Big cities with nightlife open till late, so it's easy to grab food after hours; smaller villages don't. I recommend making reservations when traveling during the high season and trying to have lunch before 2 pm and dinner after 5 pm. Breakfast is really not a big thing in Italy either, but some hotels offer pastries and coffee for breakfast, and of course, you can always visit a local bakery to buy fresh baked goods. I hope this helps! Have a wonderful time in Italy!!

My husband is a picky eater and would not eat anything probably in a nice restaurant. Would it be problematic if he sat and only ordered a drink and no food? Also many KZbinrs say that if they have a menu other than in Italian that they are not authentic and are made for turists? Did you find that to be the case?
@WheretoNau
@WheretoNau 11 ай бұрын
Hi, it honestly depends on what restaurant you visit. I don't see that being a problem for any of the restaurants featured on this vlog. As for language for the menus, I found almost everywhere we went, except for some locations in Florence(Tuscany in general) and smaller villages had menus in both Italian and English. Italy is used to having tourists, so most restaurants will cater to them as well as locals. If you find a spot where the menu is in Italian only, I suggest googling the restaurant's name and taping on the images to see some of the meals offered and show your waiter the dish you'd like. If you're visiting Venice, I have a separate vlog with my top 5 restaurants. These are local spots that range from street food to fine dining, and I highly recommend them :) You'll both love Italy! I wish you a fun and unforgettable journey :)

We went in May, which usually would be an ideal month to visit Italy. Due to climate change, the weather has been different than in past years, and for us, the first three weeks in May brought a lot of rain and slightly colder-than-average weather. If you do decide to visit in May, I would recommend the last week so you can enjoy the sunshine with less of a crowd. September/ October is also a great time to visit. Summers are hot and crowded, and winters are cold. The only upside to visiting during the winter months (Nov.-Feb) is lower prices and less of a crowd.

@@hbwproductions To see the major highlights, yes, but if you have more time to spare, a few extra days is not a bad idea. You can take many day trips to islands like Burano if you get bored of Venice.

Where to stay in Venice unless you love the stench, constant smell of cigs and huge crowds it’s the most over rated place in Italy I have been yet.

48 hrs is a crime. You need much more time - 3 weeks at least.

Every time I go to Venice I swear it's the last time. Total tourist overdose. The worst food in Italy, not to mention the price. If you spend the night, boring as hell, because all the ship day tourists are gone, Mestre Italians are gone, bus tourists are gone. But it's peaceful. I always say I'll never go back. But alas, I do

I love Venice, it's so beautiful, but yes it's full of tourists. My favorite restaurant in Venice is on Burano's Venitian island, “Al Gato Nero.” Have you been? Their risotto is out of this world! I highly recommend checking it out. I actually appreciate the tourist-free and quiet nights to hang out in Cannarrgio; the vibe there feels more local and authentic. And I understand you going back, how can you not? Its Venice!! 😎

@@WheretoNau For example you say "Meryl Streep's favorite restaurant" or the place where the seafood is hand picked by the chef daily but you do not say the name of the osteria or whatever it is. You do this throughout the video

Why are all these videos the same? You even suggest things to do but then explain they are super touristy, not worth the money, overrsted... Why then? Show me a place in Venice that is worth it. Not the places every venice video talks about

These videos are all somewhat similar because if you've only got 2 days in Venice, you'll probably want to do many of the same things as everybody else who only has 2 days in Venice. Yes, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the Acqua Alta bookstore. But it's free and takes 10-15 minutes if you're already in the neighborhood. And you have to admit, the restaurant suggestions are different. I've never seen anyone recommend Frito Inn before. Definitely NOT Meryl Streep's favorite restaurant! Plus Madonna del' Orto. Most Venice videos don't mention that church.
