Thanks so much for the compliment and for watching :) Your Vaporetto ticket will take you from the airport to Venice, and no additional ticket is required. I hope somebody can answer my question. I haven't been to Italy, but I have been to London, Paris and some town in France. My impression is that Europeans don't really eat, and I had trouble finding food except for lunch and dinner time. If you are hungry in mid morning, mid afternoon or late at night, you are out of luck and out of food. You can't really find food like in Japan or Hong Kong. Is that right? I have a friend who went to Spain and she packed many instant noodles.
@WheretoNauАй бұрын
@@audreyc3078 Hi Audrey, most restaurants in Italy close for siesta, which is usually between 2-5 pm. You'll find a few places open depending on where you travel to in Italy. Big cities with nightlife open till late, so it's easy to grab food after hours; smaller villages don't. I recommend making reservations when traveling during the high season and trying to have lunch before 2 pm and dinner after 5 pm. Breakfast is really not a big thing in Italy either, but some hotels offer pastries and coffee for breakfast, and of course, you can always visit a local bakery to buy fresh baked goods. I hope this helps! Have a wonderful time in Italy!!

My husband is a picky eater and would not eat anything probably in a nice restaurant. Would it be problematic if he sat and only ordered a drink and no food? Also many KZbinrs say that if they have a menu other than in Italian that they are not authentic and are made for turists? Did you find that to be the case?
@WheretoNau10 ай бұрын
Hi, it honestly depends on what restaurant you visit. I don't see that being a problem for any of the restaurants featured on this vlog. As for language for the menus, I found almost everywhere we went, except for some locations in Florence(Tuscany in general) and smaller villages had menus in both Italian and English. Italy is used to having tourists, so most restaurants will cater to them as well as locals. If you find a spot where the menu is in Italian only, I suggest googling the restaurant's name and taping on the images to see some of the meals offered and show your waiter the dish you'd like. If you're visiting Venice, I have a separate vlog with my top 5 restaurants. These are local spots that range from street food to fine dining, and I highly recommend them :) You'll both love Italy! I wish you a fun and unforgettable journey :)

We went in May, which usually would be an ideal month to visit Italy. Due to climate change, the weather has been different than in past years, and for us, the first three weeks in May brought a lot of rain and slightly colder-than-average weather. If you do decide to visit in May, I would recommend the last week so you can enjoy the sunshine with less of a crowd. September/ October is also a great time to visit. Summers are hot and crowded, and winters are cold. The only upside to visiting during the winter months (Nov.-Feb) is lower prices and less of a crowd.

These videos are all somewhat similar because if you've only got 2 days in Venice, you'll probably want to do many of the same things as everybody else who only has 2 days in Venice. Yes, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the Acqua Alta bookstore. But it's free and takes 10-15 minutes if you're already in the neighborhood. And you have to admit, the restaurant suggestions are different. I've never seen anyone recommend Frito Inn before. Definitely NOT Meryl Streep's favorite restaurant! Plus Madonna del' Orto. Most Venice videos don't mention that church.
