As always, nice review! I like the lighting in your background, better than I like the one on you in this video. It feels a little bright and like it’s flattening you out. If I’m understanding correctly, the aperture amaran 150c is the one you’re using to light the background?
@mad_j17495 ай бұрын
Hey Kyle! So I’m super excited to comment this because I think this will take away the lone con you have for this exceptional light. Small Rig has a couple iterations of their v mount batteries that have multiple ports for power use, one of them being Dtap connection. For this case, you can use the dc to dtap portion of the power cable provided in the case and plug that into the battery, mount the battery to the stand and voila! All is right with the world. 👍🏼 just grab the right mounting accessories and you’re good to go! Hope this helps!

Excellent video! RGB aside, would you recommend this over the Godox VL150/SL150 etc? I’m upgrading from cheap soft boxes soon and I had settled on the Godox but now wondering if the 150C/300C would be a better option.

this is freaking dope man, great video. I am surprised I haven’t found many other videos making a review on this yet,,, so I have a quick question, im a studio photographer, and I use the good ad200 as my main light and also as backlight with GELS. I want to use video lights like these because I do product video work as well. so I want to minimize my gear as much as possible. in your experience with the AMARAN 150c,, would you say that is enough for studio work for backlights individual portrait sessions? possibly grabbing 2 of the 150c,, thanks man!
@kylemeshna Жыл бұрын
Definitely think having two of these for your kit would be great. Possibilities are endless and you have so much more flexibility vs gels
@stringgunner695 ай бұрын
The question is how much power you need. For example with the Amaran 100 D S you get F3,5 with 1/125s and iso 100. So if you raise ISO up to 400 you get about F 5,6. If you need higher F values Flash is the better way or you need way stronger led lights.

Nice Review!! May I ask if you can test the faster electronic shutter to take pictures with the new Aputure amaran 150C or 300C, will there be flickering problems? 🙏 For example Aputure amaran 300C 30% or 60% output, while uses 1/800s, 1/1000s or 1/2000s electronic shutter Because I have more than 20 different brands of LED lights, but only all Aputure amaran leds have the problem of flickering stripes when taking pictures with electronic shutters (such as 1/800s, 1/1000s, or 1/2000s electronic shutter, LED lights are low at 100% output), There is also a flickering problem when shooting high speed video! Aputure amaran F22C will have flickering problem even at full power, Aputure amaran 200D will have flickering problem below 100%, there are more models... And before only shooting with other brands never happened I have also tested other brand models in detail, and I did not find the flickering stripes similar to Aputure: Nanlite pavotube 30x 4800k 30% & 65% output ZHIYUN MOLUS X100 5500k 30% & 65% output Canon EOS R5 electronic shutter 1/250s to 1/8000s all shutters, including 1/250s and 1/8000s Due to work, sometimes high-speed continuous shooting is required, but Canon R5 can only shoot 20 frames per second with the electronic shutter, and the mechanical shutter does not have the problem of flickering stripes, but the continuous shooting is only 12 frames per second If Aputure amaran 150C & 300C is used to take pictures without flickering problem, it is indeed very attractive and the price is very affordable😍

@scottlevesque6998 Жыл бұрын
Most content creators and filmmakers will easily always have extension cords and if you don't have extension cords then you shouldn't really be in content or filmmaking because that's like 101. You should have that on every single set. Multiple extension cords crates full. So this light is fine. You just hang it like you said and have an extension cord

@@SimplestUsername it looks amazing. But once you get into that range with all the accessories for a on the go setup, it almost feels like you should just get one of the Aputure 300 series. Don’t get me wrong, for my podcast studio these would work great just being setup and leave. I love what the are doing with the Amaranth series for sure.

@@ronaldroberts9555 If you're considering this or the Amaran 300c for use as a primary key light then yeah, you're right. However if you're looking to use this as an RGB effect light in conjunction with the spotlight + gobo's then this thing is in a class on it's own.. If the spot and gobo doesn't matter to you then look into the Amaran p60c. They're fantastic lights that use Sony batteries.

So I now have that light and I should say something… I have totally no complaints about the WW part, the power of the cool and warm light is respectful, but why does no one says about how unsaturated the RGB part of this light is? Compare it to any other light even from lower price range. The saturation of the RGB just simply disappointing…

At the risk of sounding obvious… have you set your saturation on the HSI settings? Cuz mine is not desaturated
