i had a slice for many years and just could not figure it out. Swinging inside out and a proper stance just didn't cut it. In golf, many of the qualities or mechanics you want out of your swing is achieved indirectly. Along with the tips in this excellent video, i'd like to add what ultimately worked for me. Notice the path your shoulders take during the backswing. They swivel in a circular motion with the right shoulder rising up and moving back. On the downswing, the shoulders follow a different path, it's less of a circular motion and more like a pendulum. This lines up with the idea of dropping the hands during the downswing or swinging inside out. The important step is during the downswing: focus on the tip of your right shoulder where it meets the arm (deltoid) and take note of where it is during address. While the path is slightly different on downswing, try to return the shoulder to its original spot. What happens with many golfers is during downswing the right shoulder swings around but not down, so instead of swinging at an angle your shoulders are rotating parallel with the ground causing over the top or outside-to-in swing.

Strange as most say hips turn from the start but hogan said hips should not turn until the club is past waist high

Very good indeed,that is not the same as a one piece takeaway,which is misunderstood by many h/cap golfers,they turn everything together which you,ve just pointed out to your pupil,i,e turniing hips too early and coming over the top.regards S/J.

Kham Lee Kham - he’s not a coach, he’s a playing professional who won the ‘05 US open. My friend, mentor, and colleague, Jonathan Yarwood is the guy who teaches Michael Campbell. Yarwood just happens to teach kids at the IJGA junior golf academy. If you are looking to have your son get coached, you should look up Jonathan. They work on all aspects of the game. Michael is a terrific guy. He would take us fishing on the Gulf of Mexico when he came into town to train. It’s hard to find golf professionals that actually know what they’re doing so I cannot stress enough the importance of finding the right guy - not just a name! Best wishes!

Please what sport is this? Never seen anything like it before.....It look's like you take a stick and beat a ball and beat another ball , and beat another ball. So for each game, how many ball does one need? And can one play on grass, clay, and hard ground?? Looks interesting.

Setting the wrist early is something you see Dustin Johnson do.. he hinges it a touch than rotates around his body.. the problem here is.. the only way to improve is to stick with one coach, and try and apply their hitting philosophy to your game.. otherwise you'll get all mixed up.. as an example, the one piece take away is very different from what this gentleman is teaching here..

The inside to out swing path might be best explained like this: Picture a clock on the ground where your ball is sitting and the target you're trying to hit is at 12:00 o'clock, the tee box is back towards 6:00 o'clock. Swinging inside to out means your clubs swing path, on your downswing, is coming from 7:00 o'clock and heading towards 1:00 o'clock. Most amateurs club head swings from 5:00 o'clock to 11:00 o'clock, if that makes sense. When they swing like that, if they leave the club face open it causes a hellatious slice. If they close it, a terrible hook. When the pro hits from 7:00 o'clock to 1:00 o'clock, the only thing stopping the ball from heading off to the right is them turning the face of the club towards the target, or 12:00 o'clock. When they do that, the ball starts out slightly right and then the ball will turn towards the left with a little draw, as you see them do all the time. Does that make sense? I hope so. Lol.

Not if it helps her hit it on or around the sweet spot more often. Nicklaus played his entire career with a shorter-than-standard driver when he was pounding it out there longer than the field. That extra bit of shaft length is greatly overrated, mostly a matter of theory rather than real-world practice.
@6maxgrinder5495 жыл бұрын

@captainpugwash5735 жыл бұрын
This is terrible advice......learn one thing...........a good player does not make a good coach.............she has her shoulders ever so slightly open, she swings a little flat.......(Nancy Lopez too) but arrives in a good position at the top of the swing, she then proceeds to swing down... also attacking (Mr. Campbell) from the inside but does not have enough forearm pronation through the impact zone, eg blocked and tight wrists......this leaves clubface open and she hits to the right....................I have been one of the UK's best coaches for 35 years...................that is how I know my way around swings............What I have learnt over decades is that a golf coach is not automatically a good golf coach and a good player also not automatically a good coach either..............sorry Michael....total fail.

Captain Pugwash there’s lots of different ways to swing a golf club, plenty of good players have advocated moving the club head first, Ben Hogan for example. Who’s to say your way is right.

I think on the down swing she snaps open her upper body prior to her lower body. Slow down the initial down swing.
