The transmitter you are using probably doesn't support any of the codecs Airpods use (AAC and SBC).

PenorPie not really sorry, I never even wrote it down in the first place, I just figured it out as I went along. In short you need to do an SD mod to free up space for the bluetooth pcb. You need to buy a bluetooth transmitter which has a built in battery so it will be the same voltage as the internal battery in the ipod. Then it’s just a matter of removing all the connectors and stuff off the pcb in the transmitter so it will fit in the ipod then soldering jumper wires instead of the aux connectors/cable and jumper wires to the ipod motherboard at the battery connector. The led and button are wired like the originals but off the board with wires.
