Cornel Bronze seems to go with all the other flowers I grow. So does Echinacea Cantaloupe. If you haven’t grown it before, you might like to try it. I’m looking forward to your peachy dahlias video. Your palate is exquisite.

Can you do a video on how to grow flowers for a specific wedding date. ? My daughter is getting married June 27th and has asked me to grow the flowers for her wedding. I live in zone 5 in north idaho. I do have indoor grow lights set up if i need to start seeds indoors.

Had similar experience direct seeding my new zinnias as well. You’re inspiring me to take a risk and try to overwinter a row of dahlias in 6a 😬. The digging and overall maintenance every year is starting to get to me.

I grew the Dawn Creek Blush from Floret and started them indoors. The colors would have been perfect for your bouquet. I also grew Floret's Shooting Star Dahlias and they are just now coming on. Her Sangria Mix Celosia is an amazing color but my plants are not very big. I am going to try and save the seeds of the Zinnias and the Celosia. Do you mulch your Dahlia bed that you winter over?

my alpen glow are at least 5 feet tall and big bloom just like benarys. give them another try! victorian wedding is smaller but man some of the colors are unique

Love your garden and the “jungle look” space. Regarding mulch: I have followed many of your videos, but it’s still not clear to me (language barrier) what type of straw/hay/leaves you use. I'm worried about using something that might contain seeds and sprout where it shouldn’t…. In my area, there are no mulch suppliers, and the closest thing I have is a bamboo forest next to a stream. Could using that foliage contain cross-contaminated seeds? Thanks very much for your inspiring videos☺️☺️

I bought some at the local big box store back in the spring and I have not been very impressed with the quality…I think one has a disease that makes the crown look warty…the name escapes me at the moment but I’m for sure going to be removing that tuber. Any suggestions on where to buy them online? (I’m 100% organic and have been trying to implement your techniques in my garden over the past 2 years)

Hi there! Love your videos btw. Question for you. I bought some foxgloves that are suppose to bloom in the first year and they still have not bloomed yet. We are now beginning of September, should I be worried. Apparently I read they do not overwinter very well. Thw variety is called Dalmation Peach F1 drom johnnyseeds

Oh No 🤔 you have me very worried about the Floret zinnia. Here in Australia it has cost us $35AU for seed. Ive just germinated half of the packets of dahlia seed to start them off as small plants and the celosia, I have a tray of zinnia just starting to pop their heads up in my starter tray. I didn’t want to use it all so early just in case it fails first go. My dahlias all had wonderful germination rates and Ive just planted our own cross bred zinnia seed direct to the field blended with some Benarys Giants and the queen series that we can get our hands on here. I just decided to direct mix seed the field so that I can get them up and if Im really happy with different colours that come up I am going to dig them up and move them into tiny isolation meshed areas so that I can hand pollinate the flowers so that next year I will hopefully get some blooms that are created from this process. I grow everything from seed here including all of the dahlias that we have and have purchased seed again and have germinated a whole stack of those so that I will hopefully get some new and wonderful flowers for this season and will cover the heads with organza bags and cross the seed over itself so that I can see what comes of that next year. The unseasonable wind and heat and lack of rain that we are experiencing right now is a frightening prospect of what temps we will reach in summer. Lots and lots of mulching being done to keep the soil protected from the impending heat and a roll of shade cloth on hand ready to make shelter over the rows if I think things are just too hot. I so wish we could have half of the seed choices for flowers that you guys have. We can’t even find a lemonade raspberry seed here to grow to see what they taste like. Love watching you. What’s a good resource where I can learn the difference between annuals, perennials etc? I want to grow more flowers to benefit my local pollinators but I’m not having much success 😕

Perrenial and annuals are determined by your growing zone. For strictly pollinator plantings, your state's extension service provides some of the simplest and most straight-forward guides on pollinator planting in your zone. Some states may be better than others but they usually have a ton of information online.

Once I figure out how to grow dahlias, I'm getting cornell bronze, rock run ashley a d wine eyed Jill. Someday i will figure out dahlias! Lisianthus was a piece of cake by comparison 😅

My neighbor and I (zone 8 and we actually live in the same town as Floret) were both disappointed and underwhelmed with the "fancy Floret" zinnias. Germination was OK, but the flowers themselves have been kind of meh. I think/hope Erin just needs more time with these. Looking forward to your peachy flower video-- currently looking for peachy perennials and having a tough time!
