Sorry this one took so long again. I probably say that a lot, but a lot has happened since the last review and it felt like too much to take in
Its like, I never expected any of my videos to blow up the way the Blitzwing video did. I'm usually happy if I think all my subscribers see my videos but over 100 thousand views is well beyond what I thought could happen
There's still so much I want to accomplish with this channel, but I've already achieved so much in my opinion, so thanks to everyone who's helping to make this possible

I'm pretty much sure they cut every figure budget of second wave to Jhiaxus. To be honest, he was made by pure love. His articulation just cheesy, his hips design is more than neat, and he's extremely accurate to the source material except for his alt mode and his face looks kinda silly. But still not big problem, he's still awesome!

I love Jhiaxus's headsculpt. He captures G2's artstyle so perfectly. His scowl is so deep that it makes his face 50% chin. He's also one of the few figures i've seen that can just stand there and naturally look as if he's gesticulating. He can do the whole "One hand behind the back, the other hand raised palm upward splayed outward as he monologues about lineage and legacy" thing perfectly.

There's tons of mention of it already,but I gotta say it too. There's an undocumented feature where the shoulder sensor comes apart. Has a 5mm port on it, so you can throw other shit on it if you want to get crazy. Also lets it fold in better for the transformation and the extra part attaches to the red gun for a approximation of the red... cannon? sensor? that he has on his backside in some vehicle mode depictions.

@@Gei4Mei its not difficult at all, grab the front part of the sensor(green lights) and pull it to the front and you can attach it to the gun and you can fold the rest sensor inside of the body even in robot mode

I feel like that most times, especially these days with figures having bullshit alt modes, finding the right line between good alt mode and robot mode is hard. Especially with character designed by artist who probably didn't think about how the transformation would work. I'm glad that Jhiaxus had this much care put into his robot mode, that the slabs of arms in the alt mode don't bother me that much

I think I have a theory on why the aircraft/spaceship mode is so weird and unfitting I think Jhiaxus is a “perfected” earthrise seeker mould. Like, two moulds share a lot of similarities in terms of what they actually do to transform, the main wings and the fold under arms are a good indicator. The legs folding in to become thrusters too is the same. The main differences are the way the chest cockpit swings out and the swivel at the waist being used for transformation They probably saved a good amount of the budget because they used an existing design as a base and then added a bunch of stuff to it to make it better. They made the robot mode amazing, but at the cost of the vehicle mode being even more unsightly from below. Not a bad tradeoff honestly

Cool robot mode, even with the crazy 90s comic character aesthetic. But the robot mode definitely needed some more work. Does Hasbro even have the guts to repurpose characters from Kiss Players? The last time I’ve heard that happening was when Animated had one of the drone army bots from that series as background characters. I doubt that at the moment, especially in a mass retail scale. That series gets way too nasty for Hasbro to tackle it that scale. But the choice of clip from the first Bay movie after you mentioned Kiss Players was quite the fitting choice.

Finally got this badboi today! I’m a fan but he’s just another case of Hasbro going all in and trying very hard on a figure until one day they stopped and just said whatever…good enough. So many things are interesting and awesome yet so many other features just kinda suck. It’s actually impressive how they manage to keep doing this. Instead of a figure just being decent all around it’s amazing and shitty at the same time. But somehow those highs and lows never really balance each other out.

There’s a good reason why he still appears on shelf’s today. “Shelf warming”. This term is used by fans and collectors for when a figure is stocked more then other figures in the aisle. Jhiaxus was one of these cases of shelf warming. Although you probably already know what this term means. Ur a collector after all

A lot of figures with white or light gray plastic have been ending up with major yellowing problems at least since Siege. I’ve heard it gets worse based on your climate too. Its a real shame especially for bigger figures like Jetfire
