Power Systems are talked about all the time within the shounen community, but what I consider some of the best definitely might not be everyone else's favorite. Today I wanted to talk about why I think these series have some of the best power systems, and how it plays into the combat of the series. World Trigger's power system is one of the best if not the best because of its consistency. One wouldn't suddenly gain power just because one suddenly realizes the power of friendship. World Trigger works like a real video game where you have a source of power and when you deplete that power its game over unlike other shonens where the MC's friend is on the verge of dying and suddenly he has now immense power to defeat hos enemies.

@@YozakuraSensei This was a thought that I had as well! Both of them are heavily characterized as the "strongest" in their series. Although that isn't necessarily as true for Jin, their positions in the story as THE key figures of their communities is absolutely the same. Their participation in battle basically always marks a sure win for the heroes of the story, but their unique duties and obligations that come with their positions as the strongest usually keep them out of the fight(Jin stalling Hyuse during the Aftokrater invasion or the Anti-Gojo barrier during the Good Will Event Arc). They are both monoliths of their communities whose presence allows those who are under them fight without worry for the future. Jin's future sight allows Border to always be prepared for an invasion and Gojo's infinity/six eyes make him untouchable and keep some of the strongest villains in the series forced into the shadows making plans instead of simply slaughtering the entire cast. Them simply not being there has massive repercussions to their stories. We haven't seen Jin taken out of the story in a meaningful way yet like we saw with Gojo during the Shibuya incident, but we should see it soon since he won't be joining the away mission. With Jin's characterization up to this point, I think we can expect to see some interesting exploration of the consequences and struggles of not having Jin around during the Away Mission Arc like we saw with Gojo during the Shibuya Incident.

@@donrog5035 The Story is shit and the only interesting Character is Gojo. And the Chracter development bruhhhh.... the black flash scene against Hanami made me laugh in sadness. "Its a rare thing that pros do sometimes unintentionally, but i am the MC so fk it ill do it intended multiple times despite me learning abt curses existence a week ago" :,D If it wasnt for Gojo i wouldnt even watch it not worth my time. Mid Tier at best. Black Clover is Mid Tier too tho.

The other great thing about World Trigger is there's no supernatural durability. Any trion weapon works on a standard trion body. If you don't have armor or a shield up to block, or you don't dodge, you ARE getting hurt. Yuma is one of the best, and even then he has like three ways to use his shape-shifting blade to compensate for missing limbs because he's very likely going to lose at least one in any serious fight.

Quite spoilery, but I agree that the systems are great :) One thing that could have been added is that compatibility (tool/opponent) plays a stronger role than raw "fuel" volume.

I'm still rather new to anime and while Trion is like so many other power sources like Ki and Chakra, World Trigger's triggers are most certainly unique

That isn't really true though. With power sources like Ki and Chakra, the user can directly use their power, while with Trion that is simply not the case. If you don't have a weapon or gear designed to use Trion, you have absolutely no way to use it. You could have insane Trion levels like Chika, or even more than that and be a borderline god, but you still wouldn't be able to do anything or even sense Trions existence without a weapon and someone to specifically tell you about it. And even then you wouldn't be able be able to sense it, only technology can track and measure Trion, but for stuff like Ki, anyone who knows how to use it can sense other Ki. Plus, Trion doesn't give any special power or magical abilities like Ki or Chakra that allows for flight and basically magic, whereas Trion is literally just an energy source. It is vastly different

Main characters have 3 black triggers. Jins blade (that he negotiated kuga joining border with) kuga's ring, and the guy who see's aura has one too. But if im not mistaken border has 3 not counting kuga's

JJK is great and all but it falls into the trap of pulling random aspects of said power out of nowhere. We understand fully the limits of trion but Jujutsu isn’t as consistent.

world trigger power system is very balanced even the side effect can be overwhelm even if ur op as sht like yuma there times yuma got badly injured but still got through it by using his trigger as a bandage even if ur a high rank that does not matter if u let your guard down because the there times where strategy can the best weapon

Nowadays I recommend reading to chapter 120 and then starting at s2! Ofc if there is any moments as you read that you’d like to see animated you definitely can go watch the episodes from season 1. It’s just a HUGE quality jump from s1 to s2 & 3 due to haitus + Toei improving over the years

Jujustsu Kaisens power level is imo one of the worst i have ever seen and the reason it is a mid tier anime for me lol. The Main Characters development is a joke. @@joxbarros5054 Yup. I actually liked the Naruto the power system early in the series but then it just became whack. A bit of lazy writing on Kishimoto's part. I haven't read/watched World Trigger but even the JJK power system is top notch in my opinion. At least if you are caught up with the Manga since the anime hasn't explored it yet.
