"The ideologue is somebody who has a fixed agenda, and basically has no genuine interest in uncovering the truth." Thanks for this clear and valuable statement, though I think it might be added that an ideologue is often someone who, in his or her own mind at least, is in such unshakeable possession of truth that facts are deemed inconsequential.
