At about 4am on Tuesday morning, my husband and I literally watched the first 30 seconds and immediately clicked off the page to go to Prime and start watching it on our own devices. I just came back to this video to see what else the video said. It's at #4 right now already in less than 48 hours. I love the comments on this video detailing the whole journey. The Edge of Sleep is oddly personal for me. I remember listening to the episodes the day they would drop in my first High School art class where I was beginning to really take an interest in drawing. Now here I am watching the show as it's just coming out during my final year in Art School. There are no words for how much of a masterpiece this is of a TV show. With a limited budget, only 6 episodes, this became one of my favorite TV shows I have ever watched. Mark has superb acting skills. The whole psychology take on this on how the mind works and how sleep affected us is amazing. Amazing plot, great cast, and great ending. The only critique I had, was the audio. Being able to hear every breath, every grunt, every tiny little sound that Mark makes, did take me out of it every now and then. 😆

literally same. while watching the first episode, i even mentioned that it was hard to divorce my brain's expectation of "that's markiplier", but by the end of that episode, i immediately forgot that it was markiplier, my favourite gaming youtuber. he was dave now. i was immersed. amazing acting and storytelling, truly. i cannot recommend edge of sleep enough, it's truly SO GOOD!

@@tmanz.1867 I’ll be honest, I don’t think mark’s acting was flawless. It wasn’t bad don’t get me wrong, it never took me out of the show, and the show was excellent as a whole, I just felt the other actors were consistently delivering better performances. Mark had a few really good performances, but then a bunch of okay performances. Perhaps part of this was how his character was written though. Dave is really monotone and doesn’t react much, which doesn’t leave opportunities to be expressive with your character.

So let me get this straight. They expect Mark to get The Edge of Sleep into the top 10 on Amazon Prime Video in 24 hours, with no marketing, with no announcement of where it would even be ahead of time, while it gets shadowdropped 3 days ahead of the already announced release date, and if that doesn't happen Iron Lung gets canceled (or something like that, he was really vague and probably doesn't entirely know himself) I mean seriously, if this wasn't malicious like Mark says, then this is an astounding level of incompetence coming from Amazon.

While at the same time this show is exclusive to the US so any fan outside the US has to use a VPN while starting a free trial for 6 episodes and then cancel the membership. Also let's look at the top 10, how does Amazon expect a 6 episode series each about 20 minutes with no other content being produced go up against any of the top 10? It's not going to happen and Amazon knows this. All I have to say is Amazon is probably doing something ill willed which would be hard to prove and due to how corrupt the entire business is they're not going to care or offer any help.

I don’t think Iron Lung will get cancelled since he’s said in in the end of production at this point. I think what’s a risk is his ability to make anything in traditional media and be taken seriously. Main media and streaming services are really behind and unaware of how influential KZbinrs and other online personalities are outside of the internet, so this doing well is a way to show them that those numbers translate over to streaming when internet influencers are involved in/make projects. Also I could be wrong, but I think the 24 hours only starts on the 18th when it’s officially announced. At least I hope so bc that would be an asshole thing to do otherwise

Mark, this show is truly incredible. It took every flaw of the podcast and fixed it, its taken all the stuff i wanted to know more about and expanded upon it. It took every unnecessary situation, character, or detail and replaced it with something more logical, fitting, and interesting.
