I'm from Costa Rica (one of the Blue Zones of the world) and all my grandparents live almost 100 years old. Our traditional diet is pretty much rice & beans 3 times at day , haha, (beans traditionally are cooked in pressure cooker btw) tons of seasonal fruits and veggies and low comsuption of animal protein, low fat, specially red meats, eggs for breakfast may be on weekends, lots of coffee. I have tried the Plant Paradox Diet, Keto, Paleo diets etc...and even if they ''work'' short therm in calming inflammation and lowering weight, I have found not to be sustainable diets long therm, I felt deprived of nutrients and antioxidants at the end, I think fruits and whole grains are important in moderation, while diets high in fact and protein cause a lot of inflammation in me. I think is important to eat accordingly with your heritage, in my case I'm a tropical animal and I tolerate easily grains for example, my husband is north american (german heritage) and I have noted that he and his family dont digest legumes and grains as easy, but he does well with high protein/fat and I dont, different DNA's and microbiome depending where you come from and what your ancestors eat, may be the ''cave man'' from Costa Rica will rather to eat the rich variation of fruits and veggies since they were available all year with not effort, instead the north american ''cave man'' had to resist cold winters and hunt animals and eat more meat/fat to survive. That's why I dont think there is only one diet made for everyone, we should honor our traditional food, eat with the seasons what is local and listen our gut instincts instead of follow all this extreme diets, it seems that at the end of day, the goal is selling us their processed products, books and pills. Blue Zone people eat a little bit of everything in moderation and always fresh and focus on a life in community, I think that's the secret of happiness :)

i was reading through the comments, so many people have good results from following the diet. Not a single person mention the supplements. Buying supplements is perhaps the last resort of any good plan. Some wise man said : its not what you do that matter - its what you dont do. Change your diet from sugary processed crap and you will see major health benefits. Low-lectin, vegan, low-carb, nutritarian, whole food plant based ...what do they all have in common ? they require you to stop eating deepfried poisonous stuff and exchange them with real food. Gundrys team eats cucumbers without the skin and seeds, but its still a vegetable and still it has a ton of nutrients. Dont ever think that taking some pill og some herbal extract from a foreign plant is the answer. The answer is what you dont do. The oldest and happiest healthy people on the planet have THAT in common, they dont eat McD with a milkshake for breakfast and a bucket KFC for dinner - do they ? Not eating wheat and corn prevents you from eating 90% of all fast-food. No burgers, no burritoes, no no no and voila. ty for taking the time to read my comment with an open mind :)

One nice thing about PP diet is that you don't need to take any supplements to still see vast improvement in health. Even Gundry mentions many other options for purchasing supplements if you choose to incorporate them into your plan. He lists other manufacturers and stores that provide the same supplements he sells. The thing that I like best....the results speak for themselves. Dr. Dale Bredesen of the End of Alzheimer's and Dr. Teri Wahls who reversed her severe Multiple sclerosis are two peers that also have similar diets and are in agreement with Gundry. Dave Asprey, the bio hacker also agrees with many of Gundry's theories. Personally, I've lost 100 pounds and reversed my diabetes and high blood pressure. I love the PP lifestyle...great food, sharp mind, joyful mood, perfect sleep and fit body!

@@bettygillett1645 You are not part of nsture. Going to a supermarket and buying a packaged piece of meat that has all of the blood and bones and defining features of the actual sentient being it came from is not natural. There are plenty of things that happen in nature like animals raping each other, but that does not mean that rape is a moral act. So do not think that this is a real excuse that makes eating meat moral.
@bettygillett1645

@@samtheman7860 I am not assuming any morality stance as I am not qualified to judge another based on own personal perspectives, if you feel nature is immoral, I respect your freedom to form your own opinions. I do agree with you about the supermarket and feel that is an excellent point. Personally, I am so thankful I can shop from local family farms that raise and harvest their animals themselves. It isn't easy to end a life to sustain another and it shouldn't be treated lightly or ever taken for granted. That goes for animals, vegetables and minerals alike. Life in all forms should be revered and cherished and when it requires sacrifice it should be recognized and respected.

I went to Dr Gundry as a patient. I had Rheumatoid Arthritis pretty bad. I was 53 and planted on my couch like a potato. He took lots of blood work and told me what vitamins to take as well. It wasn’t easy giving up my favorite foods but I did. 3 years later my Rheumatologist cleared me of RA . I’m in the best health I have ever been in. Plus my stomach is flat! People poo poo Dr Gundry because they don’t want to give up the poison that they are eating every day. So yes I’m proof that Dr Gundry knows what he’s talking about. I also have lots of proof.

Mic usually does good videos but he's way off on this one. Like you, I have benefited massively from a vegan lectin free diet. But Mic isn't scientific about his critique, he's sighting studies comparing the SAD diet vs legume eaters. If he wanted to be scientific, he would compare legume eaters vs lectin free eaters. He also made out that egg yolks contain protein as well as egg whites; egg yolks are 22% protein while egg whites are 92% protein. Mic doesn't entertain the possibility that lectins cause toxicity over many years of eating high levels of them, instead he creates a strawman that eating them in a short timeframe won't create gut permeability. It just seems that Mic doesn't like him because he's not vegan. And what Gundry suggests will make veganism more restrictive. What he fails to realise that vegans fail because they don't feel long term health benefits. Mic wants fad vegans and is not being helpful to those that don't take well to lectins.

My wife has suffered for fibromyalgia for two decades. Some days she could hardly get up her joints and muscles ached so bad. No doctor could help. After reading the Plant Paradox she eliminated all grains from her diet and we bought a pressure cooker and steamed any potatoes we ate. The fybromyalgia disappeared. She couldn't believe it. But after a couple weeks she got cocky and we bought a locally made all organic pie. The next morning it was back again. Must have been the wheat flour crust. She went back to no grains and it went away again. She got overconfident again figuring it was the wheat gluten so we had a brown rice dish. Next morning she was aching. She is able to eat white rise but not brown. My wife is 74 and this started at 54. Why most younger people have less problem with lectins is a great question, but claiming to debunk this just because you don't suffer is very narcissistic. IF you have health problems of any kind it is very simple to eliminate grains and nightshades for just one week and see what happens. It could change your life. It has ours.

The free range chicken description is true. My husband had to go to chicken school for some work for his company for WalMart and it’s true. The chickens are caged and let out like 5 minutes a day and only if they want to go out. The USFDA allows the Free Range Chicken label with 5 minutes of opportunity to go into the open fenced yard. So the chickens aren’t roaming free on a farm. But they are able to increase the price of the chicken because they raise the door for 5 minutes. Crazy isn’t it!

Autoimmune skin diseases can be tricky since they can go into remission during certain periods of our lives. I had the symptoms of psoriasis appear after my teens and didn't subside until around 30 when I quit smoking and started excersising very regularly. Also my diet is much more whole foods mostly meat/eggs and grains/potatoes. Lectins supposedly are in potatoes and lots of other foods I consume yet psoriasis is nearly gone. Exercise and ‘diets’ that don’t work synergistically with the gut micro biome can either be ineffective or make things worse ( for example endurance athletes on carbs eventually risk insulin resistance but still believe that exercise alone benefits body composition whereas in fact it can increase inflammation and insulin resistance if the carbs are high lectins or / and the gut is ‘smashed’ - leaky gut for ex. , high inflammatory cytokines, pre diabetic etc etc) Gut first then the rest comes along

Luckily, my favorite was okay, he called the pistachio “the king nut.” He didn’t mention that cashews and pistachios are in the same family, my guess is that if he followed his own BS to a T, nobody would buy into it because you wouldn’t be able to eat anything.

Sure, If you’re coming from an unhealthy diet, Dr. Gundry’s plan can work wonders. Gundry’s diet is light years healthier than something like Jordan Peterson’s “all meat” carnivore diet (that nearly killed him). The part about all diet plans that is often overlooked is that *THEY MUST BE CUSTOMIZED.* There are SOME PEOPLE that have adverse reactions to garlic. Some people have adverse reactions to lectins. For others it’s gluten or nuts, while it’s perfectly safe for others- just depends on your genetic code. Going “vegan“ or gluten-free“ is not a diet. Eating nothing but watermelon all day long is technically vegan, but it’s not sustainable. See what I’m getting at? I’m glad Dr. Gundrys book helped you, but you can do better. Try removing individual foods and see if they work. If they don’t, add them back into your diet or try another substitute.

Last November (2021) I was in hospital with Covid (delta variant) and only drank water and only ate one salmon steak that week as it was the only food they served I trusted. Hospital food tends to be garbage. I had bad brain fog but after about a week of being home I realized the patch of eczema on my lower back which I had for years was gone! I can only guess that Covid awakened my immune system to cure it, or I was merely cleansed from "fasting", but whatever the reason, it's gone and has not returned.

@@speeddash4979 I actually have the same disease. Such disease is not cured with a low carb and high fat diet or I'd never have gotten it in the first place. Treatment is typically radiation and iodine to kill off the growth of the thyroid (and/or surgery) and then given thyroxine medications to supplement the chemicals that the thyroid would produce naturally. You also clearly had an advanced stage that also affected your eyes. Again, I'm sorry to say that your low carb and high fat diet along with this doctor's supplements did nothing to help your disease. It was science and the medical profession that did that for you. And BTW, it was your disease and not your medications that caused your hallucinations. You should of all people know and understand how your disease works before making claims and wanting to argue about it. I mean I'd be rich selling my thyroxine medication to kids if it causes hallucinations. Correlation does not equal causation. That is the hyper active thyroid paradox.

I understand how the disease works. I’m not an M.D. but I have my bachelor’s degree in cell and molecular biology. My coworker had her thyroid killed and now takes synthetic thyroid hormone and feels great! I was like what the heck. I want to do that. I was on tapazole and I felt like absolute shit. The only reason I found out I had Graves was because my eyes started bulging. I gained so much damn weight and with my eyes bulging I looked like the dude from the Goonies lol! How long did it take for your pituitary gland to start working again? When I was on tapazole my TSH levels were normal but my pituitary wasn’t functioning (which can take years) and my eyes had started to bulge again. @@speeddash4979 your claims of being on the plant paradox diet helped you feel a thousand times better and are now medication free because of the diet is what I'm talking about. You are not off of your medication due to the diet. You also could feel a thousand times better while eating a paleo or a pescatarian diet as well as a whole food plant based diet because all of the diets ask you to get off of processed foods as much as possible. I also guarantee that you will have no issue with night shades or whole grains such as oatmeal. To limit or not eat at all any whole grains is absolutely essential in lowering your life expectancy. As those who do eat whole grains typically live longer lives. Barley in soups, steel cut oats with fruit for breakfast, as well as other grains in or with salads can be a great addition to your diet and will definitely increase your life expectancy. I'm from the NYC area and a foodie so I know full well what the milkbar is. But while I'm not one of those people who endorse such foods, I truly do not believe that an occasional treat is totally unhealthy for you as long as you are consuming such treats rarely like once a month. Finally, what does eating clean actually even mean? Does that mean that you use plates that are washed? Lol OK, I'm just kidding around. But if eating clean includes a lot of plant oils or other isolates, then I'm not sure that you understand what clean eating is. Please also understand that I'm not in any way trying to promote a plant based diet for you. My original reply and this follow up is just to say that your lack of night shades and grains have had little to no affect on your health or treatment of your condition. Medical science and possibly the lack of processed foods more than likely contributed the most to help you come off of medication if at all. Also please be aware that many of the foods that are allowed on such a diet such as the plant paradox diet can and does lead to CVD such as egg yolks. If you are eating meat, fish, fowl or animal by products, then you may want to study why they may not be as healthy as your diet claims.

If you were having issues with beans, pumpkin, fruit, etc. that means you weren't eating enough of those foods. With the microbiome, if you eat beans, you feed the bacteria that digest beans and they grow in population. If you eat meat, you feed the microbes that digest meat, and allow them to grow in population. I have Crohn's disease and what I've heard both from dieticians and my gastroenterologists is that if you have trouble eating a certain food, you need to introduce it slowly and in small amounts at first and you'll gradually be able to eat more over time. I've been a Vegan the last 5 years, and before that... on and off for about 4 years. I was injured in a very serious automobile accident several years before going vegan. My body received serious injuries... bones and internal organ problems also. I love the idea of being a vegan and eating no animal products. When I went Vegan, my constant continual pain subsided by a great amount, but I couldn't make further headway. I've studied nutrition for years and many ways of eating... I've listened to Dr. Gundry , Dr Eric Berg and many others. I've learned that sometimes our bodies can work a little differently inside, person to person. Injury and genetics and other things that you've been exposed to can affect the way you heal, process, and absorb your nutrients. I recently made the decision, after much time and contemplation, to change my diet. I stopped eating beans and grains, and removed anything processed from my diet. For now, to trigger healing, I have removed anything that turns to sugar quickly.. so for me, that is most fruits.. they will be added back in my diet after I see improvements. I have added Wild caught salmon, goat and sheep cheese, and pasture-raised chicken eggs. The serving sizes of the animal products are very small. After One month, I have already noticed improvements in my health. I will be continuing this way of eating carefully and will be monitoring my health. I am absorbing the potassium and nutrients more readily and am happy to have the improvements. I also have another friend who was vegan for 15 years and started to have eye problems, he added the eggs back into his diet and it has helped him. I would have liked to remain animal free, but for me, having just a very small amount added back into my diet has made a huge difference ❤️.

I believe that most of the benefits you're getting are because of the lower glycemic load, which means, you're having fewer blood sugar spikes and valleys. There are two way to do that while being vegan. One is by increasing insulin sensitivity with a low fat diet according to Mastering Diabetes, and the other is by managing the blood sugar by combining the food in a certain way, which is the Glucose Goddess approach. In both cases you take control of your blood sugar and that's what make the difference. By following the keto diet you feel better for the same reasons but it increases insulin resistance and so it's not so good in the long run.

@marioques Study keto before you send expert advice out. The number one reason people are on Keto is that it creates insulin Sensitivity NOT Resistance. Vegan is a high Carbohydrate diet which Creates Insulin Resistance. You have it the other way around. He also is basically saying eat plant based, but with occasional salmon/shell fish. Research cited makes sense re lectins and oxcylates for me. Apples and whole grains have always upset my stomach, and now am giving them and beans a miss for a while. Beans were my "meat", and my brain fog went instantly when I stopped eating them. He says they are healthy, just soak and cook them and don't have every day. He has said cultures that eat say, sea weed are better able to deal with that daily than those not used to it, and ditto for beans. Personally, am desperate to get healed from acid reflux, allergies, post nasal drip, thyroid, gut and brain fog issues. Wait till you get leaky gut and acid reflux when you are not so young. We all like to think we are healthy and be smug about it, then boom early 50s and it all changes. Wait and learn.

Do you have IBS? Either way, with digestive issues from certain foods, it is often caused by you not having the right gut microbes needed to break them down properly. This is because you didn't eat those foods often enough to foster those friendly bacteria. The way you can reverse that is by eating those foods in small amounts and slowly increasing the amount over time. If you've been cutting out those foods for a long while now, you might even need to start with is small an amount as 1 tbsp and work your way up from there. When you feed those gut microbes, they multiply and thrive, so it's a balancing act between eating enough to feed them and eating small enough amounts that you don't feel symptoms. The microbiome luckily is flexible to change.

The vegan guy eating with us, the other was vegetarian, was a pale sickly guy who was weak & starving before the meal, with my keto lunch, I could have perfectly well stayed without dinner all together, I could be his mother and I had far more energy & less hunger/ weakness... better color .. he couldn't even talk he was so weak because he spent many hours without eating ... carbs are like asking for inflammation and insulin resistance! Eat lots of eggs and my cholesterol is perfect now. I take the vital reds and D3. As I write this, my household is sick but I am not. I take another supplement Gundry recommends but doesn't sell and my hair is shiney and smooth instead of just fuzz and I just had my nails done for the first time ever cause they've stopped splitting and breaking. That's a complex issue, but the first place to start is to get a food sensitivity test and avoid the foods you're sensitive to. After that, there are definitely ways to heal the gut. Your fatigue is coming from a combination of eating foods you're sensitive to and not absorbing nutrients, due to the leaky gut.

While some people might thrive on a typical vegan diet, there are a great many with gut, autoimmune and other health issues whose lives and health have been saved by either the Gundry diet, GAPS diet or specific carbohydrate diet. Americans need to stop looking at diets as if there is one true religion that will work for everyone. My attempts included: Raw, vegan, juicing, gluten free, keto, paleo .... all after being a vegetarian followed by pescatarian most of my life. I couldn't stomach ( pun intended) his idea that BEANS were bad for us. After all... my MAIN STAPLE was beans. But wait-- i recalled how i would get headaches after eating huge bowls of my bean soup ... a tumbler falls into place. I went on Gundrys Plan Paradox diet and after 2 years.... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I will say that there are good alternatives to his diet... EXCLUDE: processed foods, grains, simple sugars. Do intermittent fasting and go largely paleo and keto. Every single video on this dude's channel is wrong on multiple levels and slathered with a thick layer of confirmation bias. Stay clear of Mic. I also don't agree with Gundry on many things, for example his vendetta against fruit and animal protein is bullshit imo. Please watch, listen, read multiple sources, not just one, and take a look at what vegans are saying, what carnivores are saying, what mainstream is saying, what niche channels are saying, you will get a good picture of what is true. And more importantly, try things your self and you need strong connection with your own body and mind, to be able to determine what foods are good for you and which ones aren't. For example I ate some some keto pancakes today, theoretically healthy according to mainstream keto ppl, but I felt like shit after, so I won't eat that again and I learned something. This is our best way of learning what is healthy, in combination with external information.

The logic is flawed because the third possibility is that the person disagreed with the implication of the original statement. And in answer to the original question, there is always the possibility that the motivation of the video was to prevent people from taking terrible advice. And it's really immature to goad people for their grammatical mistakes, it adds nothing to a discussion and its just silly. A person who speaks a second language fluently is quite admirable IMO. I like the wig! And the humor. I haven't bought his book, but I've seen a few of his interviews. I agree with him about being concerned about lectins, since lectins affect blood clotting, and are the reason we have to know our blood type if we get a blood transfusion. I think genetically, different blood types probably are why different historical groups of people can eat different types of food. And epigenetics can explain adaptations to different food supplies. Dr. Gundry now says lentils are ok to eat if cooked right. I had Fibromyalgia for many years. I went gluten-free 12 years ago, and all the pain and symptoms went away. It turns out I have a severe gluten intolerance. I also had to give up dairy. But I can handle a little of the A2 dairy he recommends. He also recommends adequate vitamin D levels. My Doctor says I am low in vitamin D, so I am working on getting more of that, too. Giving up gluten and dairy also helped my adult son with Autism, and my niece with rheumatoid arthritis. And my son, who is doing well now, loves olive oil. It's the only oil he will consume. Dr. Gundry also implicates glyphosate as a serious issue. Our family has been avoiding glyphosate for 7 years now, by going all organic.

Yes. This guy here is the one who is the incorrect reductionist. Gundry's basic concepts are solid. And backed by science when you look at them closer. For example it is absolutely true that eggs are a cholesterol source and it is also absolutely true that our bodies make all the cholesterol we need regardless of how much we eat. It is also absolutely true that dietary cholesterol does not lead to heart disease unless one has the very rare familial hypercholesterolemia. Sugar leads to heart disease. Gundry isn't out to teach the basics but this guy needs to learn them. His video is full of faulty assumptions like this one.

From anecdotal evidence ( myself, my daughter, and other women who introduced me to the book), I disagree with you. Lectins and leaky gut syndrome have been known since I was in Nursing school(1989). It is know that nightshades cause pain for people with arthritis, auto-immune disease, and fibromyalgia, such as myself. My daughter was beginning to experience joint pain, but since altering her diet more than 3 years ago, she now has a lot of energy and very little pain ever. Even MD's with NO nutritional education ( which is 90%, because nutrition is only an elective in AMA Universities) - Even MD's with NO nutritional education recommend that their chronic pain patients avoid for example nightshades ( potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplant). For example, the green color in a potatoes' skin is rich in substances which are actually poisonous (not to mention the Round-up that is sprayed upon them right before harvest). Yes, plants DO employ chemical warfare in their natural habitat ( even in a field in Idaho) to cause predators to avoid them. So , I dont know.... you people who do NOT SUFFER from chronic pain ( and who have no clue) can go ahead and eat what you want, but.... on a biochemical level, the science may prove that what foods can be tolerated by each individual is different. (Dont publish this if you dont want to... or do. Research what works for you, but others with special diagnoses like auto-immune disease may need to research what actually REDUCES PAIN for themselves. Everyone deserves a pain-free and healthy life. There are too many man made additives in our harvests and foods, and they are in fact promoting pain, illness, and cancer. My daughter worked at MD Anderson Cancer hospital in Houston, and she asked "how close are we to curing cancer?" One researcher said, "We will never cure cancer, there is too much money invested in supporting the community that serves cancer treatment". Note his statement was in reference to money and treatment, not patients or the human cost to a person's life, their family, their family's finances, etc. So, if want to call Bullsh*t, why dont you call BS on the AMA? Why dont you research how Monsanto, the AMA, and the American pharmaceutical industry has no interest in curing anyone of anything. That would eliminate their income. No? Just a thought. You want to research something about Cancer? Research the studies done in Israel for over 50 years. For over 50 years, American R&D have been funding an Israeli scientist to distribute concentrated marijuana to elderly participants, and to collect their reports. These are all anecdotal reports. The reports are overwhelmingly positive. Some said,"I wish I had known about it ( the beneficial effects of marijuana) earlier!" Just a suggestion. I consume it, rub it on my body, bake it into goods, mix it in my tea. There are lots of good studies out there. But I digress... beyondthc.com/raphael-mechoulam-gets-the-biopic-he-deserves/ beyondthc.com/

THAT said his diet includes tons of dark leafy greens and other good healthy foods. Several of the lectin foods can be eaten if properly cooked. It could just be the high consumption of quality foods and the high consumption of plant matter that make people healthier and not the lack of lectins. It is hard to tell and I do appreciate that you supported your opinion with studies. But some of the things you said make me think you didn’t really research his book. I will say it’s a little odd that he is constantly referring to taking supplements. I would prefer to eat all my nutrients and not have to supplement as much.

Winding road crochet I appreciated your comment. Just a thought on supplements. Nowadays supplements is a must. This because the nutrients in the food we eat are not enough (meaning healthy food) . Not mentioning The food itself, only the fact that the soil is not what it used to be some decades ago. It has sadly been impoverished through out the world due to the globilazation process. But I must say that when I visit dr Gundrys website I get The feeling that he is there "only" to sell (Well of course he wants to sell his products) but none The less I think his supplements should be of good quality (have not tried his products specifically). I think there is some very good things with his plant paradox diet and does indeed work for a lot of people especially the ones that only want to loose weight but never the less I dont think Gundrys program is suitable for everyone. For example there is this guy and his wife that struggles with chrons disease and artitis and has uploaded some videos on KZbin saying that The diet worked really good for them. On the other hand my brother struggles with a similar disease (ulcerative colitis) and The program did not work for him. He has to approach his disease in a different way. But I am not dismissing dr Gundrys program, I am just saying that People have different body constitutions and therefore they must approach the same or similar disease with different strategies to get the result they are after. Just some thoughts. Peace and love. 🙏🏽❤️

Cooking fruit maybe? I wouldn't know. My dad believes in the plant paradox very much and eats accordingly. I'd show him this but he's also anti science, anti medicin and an antivaxxer so no point. Also, food that isn't organic is highly toxic and microwaves kill people. Yeah. Trying to talk sense into him is like talking to a brick wall. I imagine a lot of the dr Gundry supporters must think similarly, being dragged away by pretty credentials and willing to jump aboard anything that doesn't agree with the current consensus because they don't believe in it.

Lectins are easily taken care of with soaking or sprouting. My chef son was amazed with the very first batch of sprouted black lentils I gave him to cook dal makhani. The protein content was increased by 50%. He also now tucks in a tiny piece of Kombu with every batch of beans to cut the gassiness. He soaks the peanuts he uses for me like in African peanut stew or with his vegan ramen. 😋 I am so very lucky to have a son like him. I can't talk him into going veg though cuz he's allergic to soy. I have talked him into trying mushroom milk, just waiting on the pkg to arrive.

As a physician, I was amazed when following the Plant Paradox reversed my Type 2 diabetes. I didn't have a deep skepticism, but my profession wasn't encouraging. I find the way you bounce around confusing & minimally funny. I bought some of Dr. Gundry's products as I prefer folks with solutions to plant a flag or flags. Let me propose to those out there that they consider Gundry's positions to be a step in the right direction if not a major step. Try his diet and maybe a product or two. You will know if your rash clears or your insulin requirements drop or if your mental confusion is less, you unplug your arteries, etc. You can return the used product for a full refund if it doesn't make a difference while the critics struggle to keep up. I believe that Dr. Gundry performs lab tests on his individual patients and uses the info to adjust each patient's therapies including diet. This all occurs in sick people waiting for your double-blind studies funded by ?? and not coming any time soon. Dr. Gundry has evolved. I really admire that about him. Don't change your meds without consulting your health care provider.

Yes, you are right to say that now several diets can reverse t2d as we set up the parameters for today. That leads to a lot of ??s waiting for tomorrow's answers.

@David Hancock I rather think Dr. Gundry performs lab work on his patients and yes, he does publish and present at meetings. Some of us, who have chronic medical conditions, have left the pack that won't move without enough "quoted research." We would rather live in a world with our conditions better or gone, while others need a little more research. I would point to the many comments accompany this video for the volumes of testimonies supporting Gundry's much better diet. You are not wrong whenever you wait for more research on your terms. For the rest of us, the ship has sailed. Good luck.

@@porters.5811 This is probably the most complex scientific endeavor there is. It is easier to predict the weather... IMO the best bet is to eat the kinds of things humans have always been eating. All this sugar laden junk food and preservatives that kill off your microbiome are the causes of these diseases for the majority of people. Then you have the extreme folk that build their entire world around *All plants or die* or *all meat or die* Plants do make toxic lectins and you can also find toxic things in meat. The trick is navigating all the minefields that surround you. There is a reason vegans don't really live longer and die of things like heart disease too. It is extremely complicated and you can't create controls like you can in other fields.
