Personally I think they really should do a mk2, 4, and 5 tactical squad. Just so every option is covered. But the priority should be these neutral-armor pattern upgrade kits for breachers, despoilers, and seekers. And yes a veteran kit would be nice as well.

HH desperately needs those armours, considering the armours made for 2.0 are the least common ones to see during the HH, as much as I love the new MK6 kit (despite the heads being small.... an issue with the HH scaling when they should have just reused the 40k head and made them just slightly shorter than primaris marines, especially because we're bound to see MK7 armour at some point when they start up the scouring if it gets a game within HH)

upgrade kits are kind of expensive but they are also kind of nice for getting those fine tune stylized parts. Although ripping them off of other miniatures gives you a lot of bits that you can use later as well.

I like how its just an upgrade kit that works with both released sets of tacticals. I think using basic plastic + upgrade sprue is a great way to create multiple different units without having to make completely new sculpts. For all that tho I really dont see what makes this is a command squad rather than a "veterans with power swords and shields with a banner option" squad.

Personally, I really like the helmets, they feel different enough to stand out but not over the top. I really would like to see something like this kit done for Breachers and Veterans. Yes we have most of the basic wargear for Veterans already in plastic but I'd like to see a Veterans kit include more cosmetic options to make them stand out from standard squads. Honestly a bigger generic upgrade sprue wouldn't be bad either, include a couple more options for the Sergeants of various squads, maybe an option to mount the vexilla on a pole like in some of the art, some replacement parts for Artificer armor torsos and non-Legion specific Artificer helmets, etc.

They should definitely make some upgrade kits that are like "molecular bonding stud extra plating for Mark 4 Power Armor." and have them designed to fit right over the actual plates of armour on many models. Could be a good way to add some variety and bulk up some plates for some breachers or siege oriented forces.

Okay, so the good is: - You can build multiple squads with the sprue. - Because it's an upgrade sprue, the parts can be used with Assault Squads, Jetbikes, etc., to give many different loadouts. - Moar bitz! Kitbashes and conversions will be much easier with these bits! The bad: - No new models as a complete kit. This potentially gives us lots of the same pose across an army. - No new chest plate designs. Sure, we can only get so much on a sprue but at least an officer variant for one of the poses would have been a nice idea.

So did you not see that the added a special weapon upgrade frame included? Like people ask "oh gimme more upgrades" there's only so much space on the sprue. It's either they use the space for five monopose guys or they add what they can... If you want to add bling slap some bits on it. Or sprue. Or whatever else

I think the ultimate system we're building towards is you'll eventually be able to buy a tactical box of your choice and build it into any type of unit you want with the associated upgrade set. Lack of poses is the critical weakness of this system, but I appreciate how economical it is in terms of what they're able to get out of one box of bodies.

I was really happy about this. I personally love the helmets, and I think they would work especially well for Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists, which, funnily enough, is what they showed off. As for veteran upgrades...eh, I think that's what the Legion-specific helmets and shoulder pads are for. I know that's gonna be a bit unpopular but I really do think that's the case. And as for the Despoilers. Well, you can just pilfer the Assault Marine box for chainswords, but that's a bit unoptimal.

For me this is a 7.5/10. The kit itself is amazing, it will fit any armour mark, whenever they decide to do them and you can even buy it with some marines and you'll be given a sergeant upgrade sprue as well. Also to me, the helmets look more like trying to bridge a gap between MK-III and MK-IV rather than MK-VI. What makes me deduct points however is: 1. It needed more of those shoulderpads. They look great, but only 4, out of which only 2 are visibility different is not so great. 2. It needed more weapons, as he said. Powerfists, Chainswords,Thunder hammers, mauls, and some guns even. Heavy Bolters and combi guns. But I get what they were trying to do. Make the most while minimizing the amount of new sprues. Hopefully the Melee kit solves this problem. Also, regarding the tactical squads. I have to disagree. As much as I want to see Breachers and Destroyers and Despoilers, I also want to see all the armour marks covered because kits like this make them much more interesting, as you can upgrade those marines into whatever you want.

I like it too. I also *REALLY* like the fact that I'm seeing Iron Warriors here. Maybe GW doesn't like the Iron Warriors (I think that's clear) but we really do, and they make this sh*t for us and not for themselves. More of this please! I'll probably actually buy this for my collection now. I don't even play HH (yet) but I've been painting pieces here and there. Hopefully we'll have Iron Skulls on the transfer sheet.

Depending on what it costs I'll pick up a sprue to kitbash some MK4 guys with it, or pick up some select bits online. Bit of a missed opportunity for a proper command squad kit though IMO, where you got some ornate sets of armour, some conversion parts for and apothecary, champion etc.

Triple the number shoulder pads, heads, guns, pretty much everything... As GDubbs, seems dedicated to rendering down to single sprues nowadays, not just so-called upgrade sprues. Call me a grog or whatever, but it really gets annoying when the supposed "best miniature producer in the world," has an upgrade kit which barely moves the needle compared to its competitors, or even its past versions. For example, while it's not for infantry, I have an IDF Merkava upgrade kit on the way, which pretty much changes the look of the vehicle closer to its boarder patrol role version (I intend to use it to modernize the turret slightly to the Maca). It's not the bare minimum that's provided, is my point, it's an entire box bursting at the seams with bits you can use to upgrade the standard model. I'm sure if I searched long and hard enough, I could find a similar one for either historical/ contemporary infantry, but at this hour!

It's kind of funny or maybe sad how much scale modeling runs circles around GW both in value and actual quality. Mold lines are borderline unacceptable from certain companies while a standard for GW, the boxes are to the verge of bursting with parts, and even kits from 20 years ago have absolutely insane goodies with them from full interiors to metal parts. But hey that 60+ USD Leman Russ that doesn't even fit properly anymore is just so far ahead of anyone else I guess.

the 40k command squad style of the imperial guard and space marines really bugs my brain when i compare it to the 30k equivalent. In 40k there is a captain/commander with a retinue who follows a task (coms, medical support, bodyguards, standard bearer, champion, etc). In HH I just see a standard bearer with a shield + sword crew (kinda like primaris bladeguards)

They should’ve created new torsos for this command squad. Heresy doesn’t have any fancy plastic torsos to use and they can’t make upgrade kits because they cut the sprues like massive berks. The basic tactical squad already have five torso poses per twenty lads, and now those poses and torsos are going to be stretched across to your big cheeses. Your head honchos. The bosses. The shields and swords are goofy. Why is the small gladius the squad leader variant? It should be the base version with the large sword as the ‘extra cool’ variant. Wasted weapon option slot space. Four special shoulder pads. We’re so lucky. 🙄

Before watching the video: I liked the kit overall, but could do with some more variety in the helmets. They all look like they're from one legion. Not a huge fan of the crests. The ornaments are fine. I like the swords, but the Ultramarine gladius options are strange. I'd have liked a couple stranger options for swords. Love the two different banner types, the shields, the sheaths, and the bolt pistol (wish we had more than one) . Overall good kit.

a nice system would have been when the assualt squad were a upgrade sprue too. i kinda like the idea of having the base models and options to modify them. im doing that anyway, but with upgrade sets people need to rely less on printers. for the command squad, sword and board for real? i cant think of a worse loadout. noone uses sword, even me in the first legion need to collect excuses for using them. shields wasnt needed, there are plenty in the assault squad box, and theres no reason not to buy at least one box of them, and one doesnt actually want the shields on them. well and swords we have a quadrillion from the tac squad boxes, claws too, so they arent needed. volkite chargers, combi weapons, charnabal weapons, a bunch of close combat weapons like a fist, two maces, a pair of dueling blades, ... , the gladius is actually nice, chainswords and boltpistols are a must. so with their monopose shit kits they cant put torso parts or any other upgrade for the armor other than some pair of boring shoulder pads in, lazy design stops upselling. for the future i guess they will alter the armor for breachers and give a full kit like the assault squads one.

This kit is kinda lame. The same old models repurposed over and over - pathetic. Remember 80% of GW's customers - including HH - don't play the game. It's the MINIATURES. These should be brand new sculpts with extra detailing etc. Not just the demanding you use the same old torsos from the MK3 and 6. Pathetic. A massive FU to HH collectors. Every one's army is gonna start to weirdly look the same: the MK3 and 6 already share the same poses remember.
