This would be great. PS3 had terrible anti antialiasing and framerate on almost all of their games. Would be great to go back and play old PS3 games on the PS5. Especially since most of them aren't available anymore.

Without ability, it would be really nice to be able to take the hard drive out of the PS3 and use it on the PS five via an adapter. I have a lot of digital games that I purchased on the PS3 that I would love to play at a increased frame rate on the PS five.

Nah then they can’t sell their ps plus. That’s why it’s full of ps3 games and they tried closing the ps3 store. Like I have th ps2 version of gta San Andreas that’s been d listed since. Meaning it can no longer be bought today, only downloaded from my digital list on my ps3 not ps4 or 5. I also have the og RE games, splinter cell collections, gow collection, rachet and clank collection, jax and deter, and the silent hill collections and MGS. And MGS4. Fear games, resistance. You cant buy those on ps4-5. But they in their ps plus. Cant own them otherwise

They can do what Microsoft does with Xbox 360 & Xbox backwards compatibility. The disc reads the license and downloads the digital version of the game.

Pfft, so is Sony late to the reverse compatibility party? Xbox already does this with Xbox OG games, equivalent to ps1 and ps2 games, And plays 360 games and Xbox One.
