I used bleemsync and it kept giving me errors on my USB 3.0 drive when syncing games over but I found a work around by using a USB 2.0 16GB flash drive. Loaded what I could onto the 16GB one, copied all the contents into a folder on my pc, then deleted the large game files from the flash drive. This would keep them in the library, but would give it room to add more since the game files themselves weren't taking up all the room. Rinse and repeat until I had all the games I could fit on a 128GB drive and copied it over from desktop folder to the 3.0 and it works fine in the PS Classic. It's sort of a pain if you want to change games but I have nearly everything I'd want to play on it so not super worried about it. I don't think it's an issue with the classic, it may just be something with the programs as some of my 2.0 flashdrives didn't register ether. Nice thing about bleemsync was it also found all the cover art and added info the North American titles automatically while still letting you add your own which I had to for other region games.***Using a 128GB sandisk ultra fit USB 3.1 drive for low footprint jutting out***

Imo no price is worth buying a buggy product with PAL games that run slower than you're familiar with. This proves to me that Sony isn't worth supporting because they no longer care about their products or the console war. Especially after not only ignoring cross platform play, but also locking games with that capability behind their own console itself. Not even worth it for $.50.
@YourPlayer25 жыл бұрын
Forgive me if I’m speaking incorrectly here, but does the debug menu allow you to compensate for this? I thought I remembered someone mentioning that. As far as crossplay goes, I agree! They may be able to get away with it now but I think it’ll hurt them in the long run as more lifestyle or games-as-service titles gain prevalence and being together gamers from different platforms. So for the stuttering issue, I've done some research and found a fix. Basically, the USB ports on the ps1 classic are limiting how much power they draw. The classic is USB 2.0 however they limit power to about 200mA. A USB 2.0 can use up too 500mA and a USB 3.0 can use up too 900mA. So what causes USB Flash drives to use power and how do 2.0 drives still work? For one a light and bigger storage will cause more power draw. So a USB 2.0 with no light and at 128gb max should be fine. With this lower power draw, you can stop the drive from hitting a power limit. But if you want the full benefits of USB 2.0 speeds, I've seen people use micro sd card readers since they use far less power almost 100-200mA! Let's say you want bigger storage or have a USB 3.0 drive laying around? (3.0 flash drives never hit 900mA, that's more for external HDD and other power-hungry devices)(Also you won't get any speed benefits of USB 3.0 since the port is still only 2.0). You Could do the Current Limiter Removal Mod. This mod requires you to short the two resistors that determine the current that gets output to the port by soldering some metal wire to bridge the resistors, negating the power limiter from doing its job. However to do so you would need to solder and that isn't practical to anyone, but honestly, it's a very easy and quick solder. But for my money and ease of use, The best two solutions is the sd card reader and one more way.That way is to get a powered USB hub. Meaning you plug the hub into the classic and the hub has its own power source, allowing you to bypass all of this. This will also allow you to add a second controller for two-player. (but for performance tweaking you would have to test which ports and which hubs one or two etc...)
@songanon4 жыл бұрын
Also as a side note for the mod, It's not a one time short so you can't just use a screwdriver to touch them and call it a day. It must always be shorting hence a permanent solution is necessary.

In your video you mentioned that you weren't sure just how big a memory stick you could use. If you have to use the FAT file system then the answer is 64 GB. Anything higher than 64 GB has to use NTFS and is usually USB 3. It’s not usb 2.0 speed. Most portable if not all portable DVD/CD drives are USB 2.0. The cut scenes are skipping due to autobleam method of tricking the ps classic to play games from the USB drive. If people already have a laptop that at least 5 years old or newer. They can just get an emulator for PC. No need to spend money on the classic console.

Yeah this occurred to me later on; Someone pointed out earlier it could be an I/O limitation of the software also which makes more sense to me. @danielwebofrito25 жыл бұрын
Hey, I don't know if the uploader's gonna read this, but I wanted to point out something NO, it's not the throughput of USB 2.0 that lags FMVs, it's something else. I know because I've ran PS1 games over USB on a PS2 slim and on raspberry pi and they don't stutter on any point. I've only seen FMVs stutter when using USB 1.1 (which was on PS2 games on a PS2 over USB, because the throughput of USB 1.1 is less than the DVD drive). It's impossible for USB 2.0 or 1.1 to have less throughput than a PS1 CD-ROM drive which uses 150 KB/s. kthxbai

USB 2 gives near 50 Meg/second whereas the PS1 CD player was a 2x unit = less than 350 KB/second.
